A few things you missed. First gen V's have the same aluminum getrag diff case as the v6 cts. They are weak and known to shatter even under stock power. Aftermarket solutions are out there but they are not cheap. Cheapest solution is to swap in the rear cradle from a 2nd gen V which will cost $2k plus and has several drawbacks. There are aftermarket kits for using the ford 8.8 and 9 inch rear but they will cost you $5k+. There are several mods available to strengthen the stock diff but it's a gamble. There are 4 different iterations of diff for the first gen V. 2004 and 2005 use the first and second which are the weakest and most prone to shatter. 2006 and 2007 use the 3rd gen which is a little stronger, and the 4th gen diff was released in 2008 and not installed from the factory. The stock diff is fine if you're not doing burnouts or hard launches but when buying a vehicle with multiple owners that's a risk you have to decide on.
All factory driveline bushings are soft and will need to be replaced to eliminate clunking/driveline vagueness. Creative Steel has everything you need plus the 8.8 diff swap. Replace diff bushing, rear cradle bushings, shifter bushings, isolator bearing, motor and trans mounts and you'll be all set.
Get an 06-07 if you can afford it. They are more refined all around than the 04-05's. Grounding issues solved, pcm issue solved, stronger diff, cam gear pin issue solved, and numerous other things. The biggest pro of the newer cars is the LS2 engine. It does have a better torque curve stock, but the biggest pro is that it's a gen 4 6.0. Meaning most parts are interchangeable between gen 4 motors, including the ls3.

Shy of 900whp and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Perfect blend of performance and practicality, great daily/streetcar, wolf in sheep's clothing, and with a few bolt-ons can hang with the high performance cars of today.

No need for headers! just let it flow and experience its native sound you will fall deeply in love so much so you will not be able to hide it. just include your wife so she doesn't feel left out. maybe do her on the hood or behind the open passenger door just make sure and call out her name and not VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..... lol

I've had my 2011 CTS 3.6 Performance RWD for four years now. Threw some minor "expensive" upgrades at it. Upgraded coils, plugs, K&N Typhoon cold air intake, lowering springs, and a good but safe tune. Getting 347 at the wheels. Looking for a better converter but I haven't had any luck so far. Anyway, craving more power out of the beautiful gen 2 body style. Looking to get a V coupe towards the end of next summer. Will definitely take a sedan either way. I can't wait, it's been my dream car since the gen 2 came out. 3.6 daily driver, V a garage toy. Shooting for 750hp. I'll be satisfied with that. Been a Cadillac fan since I was little. My grandpa had a black '64, and it was better than anything I had ever seen!

I have a 2012 V sedan, and its best attributes are in order, turn-in, general suspension and handling, then brakes and last but not least is roll-in acceleration. The trunk is decent with good shape and the Recaros are a little too hard now after 12 years on a 73 YO butt, but being ventilated is killer. The Barack Diamond paint awesome especially after its freshly washed. The suede seat inserts make a black interior livable. I wish the Jim Miro (?) who I think did the suspension dial-in engineering would offer a software update like he did on the 2013 C6 corvette 427/Z06. Would love to be able to enhance the suspension and W/T combo and maybe a 2650 plus cam and headers but stock is not half bad.

Actually the 5.7 liter revs up quicker achieving peek horsepower quicker than the 6.0 liter. The ECU information on the 6.0 is broken up into 2 separate files of parameters taking it a little bit more time to reach the peak. Ask any LS experienced tuner, the 5.7 liter ECU is less complicated to tune. And by the way I have a MINT 2004 Cadillac CTS-V with a Squires Turbo System, complete twin turbo system. Professionally installed and professionally tuned. Tune was done with longevity in mind. The car looks brand new and operates like new, and When I say brand new I mean brand new and not “FaceBook Market New!” or “gently used” if you know what I mean. It has too many upgrades to list. Hit me up if you are interested. Selling because I never drive the car, I’m afraid of scratching the paint job or scoffing up my wheels. It has just sat inside my garage since 2012. Watch Squires Turbo Systems 2004 Cadillac CTS-V on TH-cam. It’s not my car but the twin turbo system is the same I have. Also That guy Kleetus McFarland trying to destroy an 04 CTS-V transmission and rear differential that debunks that myth. Anyways hit me up if you want to play with the big dawgs for a fraction of $$.
