Just did this tonight, 10 min. to remove overflow tank, a/c line, motor mount, upper tensioner pulley, support jack engine up ....45m to remove the corroded water pump to the mating surfaces just like in the video. TRQ saves the day once again!

I was watching my mechanic work on my car and he had placed some sort of silicon onto the water pump where the rubber is located. And after two bottles of 1.5 Kool-Aid he mixed it with water, how would you rate this job?
Today I was driving ford focus 2012 And an a dashboard was sign motor over heating I stopped an the side of the street and Opened hood a little smoke but coolant everywhere and the passenger side I called towing to tow the car My question is (can be water pump bad ? Thank you for any advice
i tried getting one out of a junkyard today and i broke its legs trying to pry it out so corroded into the engine. i think someone ran straight water which welded it on. went to another car and got it out without beating it up too much. i wouldnt pry on the shaft bearing if your resuing. get a screwdriver between those legs and hit that driver with a hammer itll come out
Excellent! Of course I lack an engine hoist and a means to get to the underside to drain the radiator. By the way, you opened the radiator drain, took off the expansion tank cap to drain quicker but I didn't see you close the drain. Naturally, the water stayed in the tank so you must have closed the valve. 🙂
+dylan monen This procedure might be different for your application. We do not currently have a how-to video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
I can always spot a rookie repair when twice as many parts and time are spent removing a Focus Water pump. Its also a good way to break otherwise good parts. 20 year Master Tech and vocational instructor definitely earn this advantage. Its always the girl.

TRQ saves the day once again!
Thanks for not editing out things that take longer to remove, show us all what we will face!
Great video... Thanks... Added tip. I bought a $10 strap wrench to hold the pulley while loosening and tightening bolts. Worked like a charm.
You have my respect best ever step by step guide I've found after searching on TH-cam for almost a month❤thank you
Great video. Super easy to follow. Keep up the great work TRQ.
Real world issues and all, great video, thanks for the lesson on the water pump.
Best water pump video ever.
This helped a lot. I had FAR LESS space working on my 2012 Focus, however.
Brothers, GOD BLESS YOU!!! Amazingly well done 👏
Easy peasy. Most informative video for this job. Completed replacement and drain/fill coolant in 2.5 hours. I was also taking my time too. Thanks!

You just made it look very simple, that was helpful thank you
Really convenient when you don't have A/C hard lines running over top of the engine mount
Piece of cake!!😅 Dealership wanted $550 for this job
Thanks so much brother! You saved me a lot of aggravation and experimentation. I just got done putting mine in!
Realy good bro, i'm mexican and, i didnt speak English well. But your videos are too easy to understanding.
Did you have to put a jack under the engine when removing the engine mount?
Really appreciate it. It's was straight forward and easy to follow. Thank you
I'm doing this on a 2012 ford focus and I have the big ac line going right past the engine mount. It definitely makes it a bit harder.
the guy screaming halfway thru : *FORDDDDD!!!!!!*
Great Video , thanks for your time and knowledge.
Love the explanation of the torque specs!🙌
This guy is all pro 😮
I just changed the thermostat and im getting ready to change the water pump. I hope this is the reason for my overheating.
Excelente vídeo
Disculpa ese motor es el 2.0 lts ecoboost 4 cilindros?
Es el mismo que tiene Ford edge 2015 2.0 lts ecoboost?
Saludos
Absolutely fantastic video, thank you!
🎉good job tank’s Bro
Great video. But how did you get that coolant tank so clean?!
....LOL.
It’s a new one I was like what the heck went from old to a new one. I replaced mine thinking it was the tank leaking and it’s the water pump.
Needed this thanks!
Exelente!!! Saludos!!!
Great video
hello, excellent tutorial, didn't you need a hydraulic jack to support the engine?
Overflow tank is different from the original video, is there a reason why you edited the video with a newer ford focus
You have to use thread locker ?
Whats that's cleaner spray called your using to remove coolant?? Cheers
Do you need a jack for the removal of the motormount process ?
Very easy good job
Thank you!!
Wonderful!! One question: What type of 3/8ths impact wrench are you using? I need one!
Great video 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I wish i could fix it myself
I took the tensioner off and with 8 inch punch, angled it and with a couple wacks of the hammer, the pump came right out
should you change tbe WP before it goes bad 🤔
Keep in mind if you are doing this, there will be AC lines that are not shown in this video that go over the motor mount.
What did you use to clean the engine bag of corrosive material (coolant)?
Is it possible to take the wheel off and cover and do it from the side?

What’s that stuff called you sprayed
doing this on 2015 mustang ecoboost. looks like its the same pump

My question is (can be water pump bad ?
Thank you for any advice
Help three days and I can’t get mine out but again I don’t have a crowbar I broke the ears off the water pump I’m afraid to keep trying
For a second it looked like you forgot a bolt in the water pump trying to pry it out...good video tho
How many inches can I lift the engine?
There was a stubborn stripped bolt and was hard to get to.
After replacing mine, I've got no spark. I'm able to jump start my car and it will start occasionally but less now. Any idea why? Thanks in advance
ford repair video:
-first step is to remove the engine
i tried getting one out of a junkyard today and i broke its legs trying to pry it out so corroded into the engine. i think someone ran straight water which welded it on.
went to another car and got it out without beating it up too much. i wouldnt pry on the shaft bearing if your resuing. get a screwdriver between those legs and hit that driver with a hammer itll come out
What size are the water pump pulley bolts ?
13s ?
Can you replace just the o ring instead of the whole water pump?
Excellent! Of course I lack an engine hoist and a means to get to the underside to drain the radiator. By the way, you opened the radiator drain, took off the expansion tank cap to drain quicker but I didn't see you close the drain. Is this the same as 1.0 liter eco boost 3 cylinder???

Can bad pump failure cause water and oil to mix ? I don't think soo
No
My 1.5 ecoboost not the same as tensioner not in same place
89 inch pounds = 7.4 foot pounds torque
just get a bigger hammer 😂
So a rubber mallot will not help of you still have the top bolt still in.
Just saying
Nice video. You did skip the step closing the drain valve on the radiator. Just an oversight I am sure.
A lil Vaseline will make it nice to slide in...
Poor car wont last long with that radiator drain left open....
DIAPERS NOT PADS
