This happened on my 2015 Murano Platinum edition. We don't use the moonroof often, but the last time at the Dealer, we replaced the battery. Looking around the internet, I read that this issue will happen when the battery is disconnected and your reset procedure is the fix for this. I just used your procedure, and it worked like a champ...Thank you for posting this.
Just left the dealership was told could not reset slider, made an appointment for next day. Found this on You Tube. Followed procedure outlined and the moonroof works fine. You made an old guy very happy !!
Went through 6 other videos that all of them showed how to dismantled the housing and access the motor to fix it... your fix was way simpler thank you thank you thank you thank you

Man I can’t thank you enough. I just got my Murano back from tint and subwoofer/amp install and it was fine the. Started the wonky 3” thing. This fixed it😊
Aye thanks alot,it work for me...Suzuki escudo 2007..i recently change my battery and a day after i try open the sunroof and was hard to open (had to hold my finger down on it to go right back) after watching this and following your steps it worked...thanks again cause i had already check the fuse 😄
I have a 2016 Nissan maxima with the double roof. It’s stuck in the closed position. I tried the trick holding it in the closed position it makes a noise when I get to about 8 seconds but that’s about it. Any other suggestions?
What about an issue where the shade fabric has come loose on both sides and doesn’t retract/roll up when you activate the switch. The motor moves the front edge rail back, but the fabric just droops down and doesn’t roll up.
I have a similar problem with my 2005 Murano. However it has two switches, one to open/close the sunroof, the other for the tilt open. The sunroof opens just fine, but it will not close. However if I hold the close tilt button down it inches it’s way shut.will a reset work for this year & model? Gil
BRING THE SUN ROOF ALL THE WAY FORWARD IN THE TILTED UP POSITION THEN HOLD THE FORWARD BUTTON TELL IT DROPS DOWN IN THE CLOSED POSITION. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO DO IT A COUPLE OF TIMES FOR IT TO WORK.
Thanks for your swift help. I tried this several times, no success. My 2005 has two switches: 1) a slider, to open and close. 2) a rocker switch to tilt the sunroof up/down. Right now the slider will open the sunroof, in increments or all the way open. However when I slide the switch forward the sunroof moves a inch, then moves back to the full open position. Once open, the sunroof will only close by using the TILT switch, but it moves an inch at a time, kind of a jerky motion until it is closed. In the end, I can open & close the sunroof, but not the way the system was designed to operate.
@@giljusino to be honest with you it's probably been at least eight years since I program an older Murano we don't see too many vehicles older than 2011 come through the dealership sorry I couldn't be more help.
If the track is still in decent condition you should be able to just slide the moonroof forward but normally it will not stay up and latch without a motor
My wife's 2012 Rouge is doing the exact same thing, gonna try the way this guy did it and the way another guy did it in a Nissan Altima moon roof. This or the othe rway should work since they are all Nissan and the Rouge moon roof is set up exactly like the Altima/Maxima

Sounds like the motor and cable came apart you're gonna need a whole new sunroof.
What about 2013 Nissan Rogou Sunroof not closing properly?
