Clint Walker had the exact same effect on me that others here are conveying. He just blew you away… the size and looks and voice and demeanor. Everything there in one package to make a boy have a hero and a girl have a heart throb. Clint could have made it anywhere, anytime. He had it all. Miss him.
I watched Cheyenne as a young boy. I was so impressed with his size. My mom would always tell me how respectful he was, especially with the ladies. For me to be the same way also. I started lifting weights when I was 15. Hoping I could be like Clint. My father was 5’7” and my mom 5’5”. I made it to 6’ somehow. At 70 now, after all these decades of working out. I am still at the gym 5 days a week lifting weights. Twice I met Clint at the Festival of the West in Scottsdale, AZ. It was an emotional experience for me. I was saddened to hear Clint tell me he was losing his eyesight from Macular Degeneration. He signed 2 photographs for me. Thank you Clint, always so much, much more than an actor…

Clint was a good guy for sure. I saw him in the Phoenix Jaycee Rodeo parade when I was a kid. I ran out to the street when I saw my favorite cowboy. He stopped, turning his horse around and posing until I ran out of film in my camera. What a class act he was.
Clint is my favorite actor. He was a gentleman and a good actor. I am 74 years old and regularly watch his show Cheyenne. He had a miraculous recovery after his near death experience. Likewise at 66 I had open heart surgery and it was followed by a 2 month coma. I did have a miraculous recovery almost 10 years ago
I have a lot of memories of Clint Walker even though I never had the honor to meet him. I was his second cousin, my dad, Durrell Walker being his first cousin. I can remember as a child hearing the phone ring, back when all phone calls were long distance and no one called just to chat. The news: Clint was on TV tonight! All plans changed or stood still. We were glued to the TV to watch our cousin. He did not disappoint. I absolutely loved his deep voice. He brought so much joy to our family and all of us Walkers (a very large family). Okay here is another tribute... I was getting ready to retire after thirty three years of police work. I had been a big fan of Cheyenne as a kid but had forgotten. So I found Cheyenne and started watching. I realized that a lot of the things Cheyenne had said I had said to suspects, victims and other police officers over the years. Then I realized just what this show had meant to me and how I had internalized the values that were being taught. I had never written a letter to a celebrity but when I found out he was still alive I sent him a letter. I got one back in which he touched on things I had said to him. My wife thought that he just had a secretary read and answer letters. I recognized “Cheyenne” from my childhood. I was lucky that Cheyenne and Clint Walker was involved in my moral compass ..
Clint Walker was more than a good guy and I wish he was still around today to set an example for the children these days. Jerry thank you so much for another great video.
I went to Mr Walkers web site a few years ago and asked him a question about some of his co -stars. Within 2 hours he replied to me and answered my question. It is one of my favorite replies ever. I saved it and will always cherish it. Definitely one of the best Cowboys ever.

@@jameshuseby6290 No I asked him about two of my favorite Character Actors; Robert Wilke and Peter Whitney with who he worked a lot with. I asked him if they were as good as guys as I hoped and thought they were.. He said they were both great actors and great guys to work with. Wilke and Whitney were both in every TV Western made back then. Wilke was the guy in The Magnificent Seven that brought a gun to a knife fight and lost and Whitney played Lafe Crick on the Beverly Hillbillies.Like Clint told me they were both great actors.I like Lee Marvin too he was one of the best.

I had heard tell once that Harry took over a horse dragging scene from an inexperienced young stunt man because he felt the guy might get hurt, now that's character right there, no wonder these guys were revered.

If he wasn’t Peter Whitney seemed to be . I grew up watching all of the Westerns and still catch all the ones I can.
You won’t believe this Jerry, but 70 to 75 years ago, the kids in my neighborhood started to lift weights so we could build our bodies to look like Clint. He was a specimen of a man. After my father-in-law passed away, I used to visit my mother-in-law every Monday and Wednesday, and a few more times over the month. We are both fans of old movies, and we'd talk about our favorite actors...Muni, Stanwyck, Howard and the like. My mother-in-law would light up when we talked about Clint Walker. My father-in-law was like Mr. Walker. Tall and good looking. My mother-in-law passed away a few years ago, but the five years I went over there are memories I cherish, and Clint Walker is a part of those fond recollections. I was living in LA when Clint had his skiing accident, and I remember the news about his bizarre mishap as though it was only yesterday. I remember thinking, "If anybody could live though something like this, it would be Clint Walker," he was so big and strong. It's interesting how such a giant of man could be such a sweet and kind person. Thank you for another great video, Jerry, and I hope you are doing well.
In 1957 we lived, for a month or so, in the Perry Lodge in Kanab, Utah. Clint Walker was staying in the room next to ours while they were filming the movie Fort Dobbs. I spent al lot of time in the evenings with him while he worked on his jeep. What a great, gentle giant he was. I was 11 years old at the time.

I was raised in a town that had a NASCAR speedway. Clint Walker was the celebrity guest at one of the city's Race Day Parades. I was a kid on a bicycle and he was sitting in a convertible Cadillac by himself in the marshaling area. He talked to me and was very nice. He looked like a giant. I met Alan Hale at almost the same spot a year later.
The problem with watching NOTG on TV, is that they always cut his song Angela. Many people have seen that movie and still don't know what a beautiful voice he had.

As previously mentioned he conveyed a wonderful demeanour to the camera. God was looking down on Clint and the surgeon who saved his life that day. What a great looking chap he was.

Teddy Roosevelt, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Clint Walker, and others. I built myself up to about Clint’s size but not quite so tall sorry. I graduated from college then law school and became a very successful trial attorney while living a great but simple life in the country in a house next to a lake. And yes I married my sweetheart 40 years ago.

It's heart breaking to know that a "good guy" passed away on my birthday... 3 friends passed away on our wedding anniversary in a civil air patrol a/c crash and this gave me the same feeling :-( Superb as always Mr Skinner, you're the best!!!
I remember him being on Art Linkletter's show shortly after the skiing accident. I remember him saying that one of the things that saved him was his being so barrel chested -- so much muscle tissue to go through, the 4 inch ski point only pierced his heart slightly. Had it happened to a more average sized man, it would have killed them for sure.
I watched Clint Walker tell the story himself about getting pierced with that ski thing whatever it was and he said it did pierce his heart and he died and was laying on the table in the hallway when a doctor walked by and said I think he's still alive Clint said his self that he was dead ....he recounted the whole lncident.
Thanks once more for a delightful, well presented biography of one of my favorite actors. I have his 8-year series of "Cheyenne" and watch them often, as well as "Night of the Grizzly". He was a very loved and caring man. R.I.P., Clint.
I knew about The Mighty Clint Walker till recently but regardless of this I'm a big fan of all of his movies and series, such an imposing figure, a man's man, I think he deserved better roles, better movies, but hey such is life and I'm thankful for his pass through this world... Clint Walker, that's how an actor is supposed to look, and gifted with a unique voice that was perfect for his frame... Rest in peace gentle giant.
Awesome documentary, but I was a little disappointed that there was no mention of Clint Walker, starring in ‘Scream of the Wolf’ (1974) with Peter Graves, and Directed by Dan Curtis who was also famous for Dark Shadows TV Series(1966-1971), and The Night Stalker (1972). ‘Scream of the Wolf’ was in my opinion one of the best made-for-television horror-thriller films I have ever seen with incredible acting by Clint Walker & Peter Graves!
In the 60's i worked as a delivery boy in a butchers shop in Knightsbridge uk these three huge guys in black t shirts came walking past my shop they were clint walker lee marvin and charles bronson they were in england filming the dirty dozen and staying at the carlton towers hotel i got autographs from all three they were really kind tome and very polite clint was the biggest man id ever seen what a great memory..

Clint was the Gentle Giant of Hollywood. When I was a kid in the 1950s, he was my idol: big strong and powerful but also kind and gentle. A strong man, like Clint, is someone you don't want to mess with. Clint is an example of strong man who could afford to be gentle. Gentleness should never be taken as a sign of weakness. The weak have to pretend to be strong.
That knife fight in Dirty Dozen between him and Lee Marvin...... And that name Posey. That scene always stuck with me because I imagined that's what he was like in real life. A force to be reckoned with yet slow to anger.

When I was 16 years old I was living in north hollywood ca. I went into a standard brand paint store. while looking for paint I turned around and ,,, WOW !!!there was clint walker , a mile high !! I held my hand out and said Hi. cheyene ! He smiled put out his giant hand saying, howdy boy ! we turned and that was it ..great memory!
My mom LOVED Clint!! I remember in 1959 we saw him appear on stage in downtown Chicago promoting his latest movie " Yellowstone Kelly". My wife loves him too & we watch Cheyenne on Starz Westerns Mon-Fri.
I loved this presentation by Jerry Skinner. He pronounced everything corrdctly & I loved hid accent. Clint was a wonderful man & I still love him greatly !
He had a near death experience from that accident he died look it up on Google, sad mr. Skinner didn’t talk about it, I think Clint would have liked that. His wish was granted when he ask to come back. He also seen a UFO.
Walker starred in Snow Beast in 1977. It was shot in Crested Butte, Colorado. He played the Sheriff, where a Yeti like beast terrorized the local population. It was a silly movie, but I was near him during the filming and was very impressed with how big he was. I was a big fan of Cheyenne as a child and felt honored to be able to have seen him in person.
Back in 1965 and 1966, I was living in Fullerton, Calif. I stopped at a red light on my way home, and I happened to look at the car next to me , and, lo and behold, Clint Walker was driving that car! Man, he was one big man.
What a beautiful Christmas gift. I lived in Auburn and grass valley and hoped I would bump into him gust to say I have loved you since I was a baby. And yes he was a good guy. I changed phones and lost you glad to be back.

I think Clint Walker will be remembered as a "Good Guy" if only because he demonstrated that he was so consistently throughout his life.

The problem with watching NOTG on TV, is that they always cut his song Angela. Many people have seen that movie and still don't know what a beautiful voice he had.

I was envious of my aunt. Clint Walker and she, were good friends.
Clint Walker. Those who knew him, know what a true hero he was. His mother, born Gladys Schwanda, was born in the province of Bohemia, when it was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy.
If aa better looking man ever lived, I never saw him. Clint Walker always was and always will be my favorite celebrity.

Thank you Jerry. Loved watching Clint as Cheyenne when i was a kid although in those days only monochrome TV. Loved him then and would watch anything of his now given the chance. As previously mentioned he conveyed a wonderful demeanour to the camera. God was looking down on Clint and the surgeon who saved his life that day. What a great looking chap he was.

Teddy Roosevelt, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Clint Walker, and others. I built myself up to about Clint’s size but not quite so tall sorry. I graduated from college then law school and became a very successful trial attorney while living a great but simple life in the country in a house next to a lake. And yes I married my sweetheart 40 years ago.

It's heart breaking to know that a "good guy" passed away on my birthday... 3 friends passed away on our wedding anniversary in a civil air patrol a/c crash and this gave me the same feeling :-(

I remember him being on Art Linkletter's show shortly after the skiing accident. I remember him saying that one of the things that saved him was his being so barrel chested -- so much muscle tissue to go through, the 4 inch ski point only pierced his heart slightly. Had it happened to a more average sized man, it would have killed them for sure.

I watched Clint Walker tell the story himself about getting pierced with that ski thing whatever it was and he said it did pierce his heart and he died and was laying on the table in the hallway when a doctor walked by and said I think he's still alive Clint said his self that he was dead ....he recounted the whole lncident.
Thanks once more for a delightful, well presented biography of one of my favorite actors. I have his 8-year series of "Cheyenne" and watch them often, as well as "Night of the Grizzly". He was a very loved and caring man. R.I.P., Clint.
He worked out and he ate healthy. Then lived to be 91 years old, that's a Win.
I knew about The Mighty Clint Walker till recently but regardless of this I'm a big fan of all of his movies and series, such an imposing figure, a man's man, I think he deserved better roles, better movies, but hey such is life and I'm thankful for his pass through this world... Clint Walker, that's how an actor is supposed to look, and gifted with a unique voice that was perfect for his frame... Rest in peace gentle giant.

Awesome documentary, but I was a little disappointed that there was no mention of Clint Walker, starring in ‘Scream of the Wolf’ (1974) with Peter Graves, and Directed by Dan Curtis who was also famous for Dark Shadows TV Series(1966-1971), and The Night Stalker (1972).
‘Scream of the Wolf’ was in my opinion one of the best made-for-television horror-thriller films I have ever seen with incredible acting by Clint Walker & Peter Graves!
In the 60's i worked as a delivery boy in a butchers shop in Knightsbridge uk these three huge guys in black t shirts came walking past my shop they were clint walker lee marvin and charles bronson they were in england filming the dirty dozen and staying at the carlton towers hotel i got autographs from all three they were really kind tome and very polite clint was the biggest man id ever seen what a great memory..

Clint was the Gentle Giant of Hollywood. When I was a kid in the 1950s, he was my idol: big strong and powerful but also kind and gentle. A strong man, like Clint, is someone you don't want to mess with. Clint is an example of strong man who could afford to be gentle. Gentleness should never be taken as a sign of weakness. The weak have to pretend to be strong.

When I was 16 years old I was living in north hollywood ca. I went into a standard brand paint store. while looking for paint I turned around and ,,, WOW !!!there was clint walker , a mile high !! I held my hand out and said Hi. cheyene ! He smiled put out his giant hand saying, howdy boy ! we turned and that was it ..great memory!
My mom LOVED Clint!! I remember in 1959 we saw him appear on stage in downtown Chicago promoting his latest movie " Yellowstone Kelly". My wife loves him too & we watch Cheyenne on Starz Westerns Mon-Fri.

He had a near death experience from that accident he died look it up on Google, sad mr. Skinner didn’t talk about it, I think Clint would have liked that. His wish was granted when he ask to come back. He also seen a UFO.

Walker starred in Snow Beast in 1977. It was shot in Crested Butte, Colorado. He played the Sheriff, where a Yeti like beast terrorized the local population. It was a silly movie, but I was near him during the filming and was very impressed with how big he was. I was a big fan of Cheyenne as a child and felt honored to be able to have seen him in person.

Back in 1965 and 1966, I was living in Fullerton, Calif. I stopped at a red light on my way home, and I happened to look at the car next to me , and, lo and behold, Clint Walker was driving that car! Man, he was one big man.
He was a beautiful Man. Everything about him was beautiful, including his hands.
He may have aged but kept his great looks, faith and love for all R.I.P my friend.
