According to Spaghetti Western Lore, Lee was one of the fastest draws ever to grace the screen. His character of Douglas Mortimer became so popular he even had his own Italian comic book series.

To date, we've seen Strother Martin ( frequently), Chuck Connors, Ross Martin, DeForest Kelly, Richard Deacon, John Carradine, Claude Akins, Frank DeKova, Robert Middleton, Raymond Bailey, Werner Klemperer, Jack Weston....seems like everyone passed through Dodge City!

Best bio I've seen yet of LVC on TH-cam, Jerry! Facts, info., and pics, etc., I've never seen in other bios -- a tidy sum! I've always been a big LVC fan since I was a kid in the 1950s (but didn't really know his name -- just his face, nose and eyes). When I was in the navy I saw the Sergio Leone trilogy movies -- but in reverse order they were released. I saw the GBU at the Norfolk, Va., Naval Station's base theater for .25 cents (1968). As soon as saw LVC I said to myself: It's that guy! I really liked Lee's performance in the GBU. The next movie I saw was For A Few Dollars More. I liked Lee's character (Col. Douglas Mortimer) so much that to this day I use his photo and sometimes the name Col. Mortimer as my forum name at many websites I post at. With respect to Lee cutting off part of his middle finger of his right hand, Lee's middle finger can be seen gauzed up and splinted in the Have Gun-Will Travel episode titled "The Treasure," which was released on TV December 29, 1962. In that episode Lee is shooting a rifle both right handed and left handed. I'm not sure if he was ambidextrous or if he was having trouble shooting right handed and switched to left handed. I also have the same "The Bad" T-shirt Lee's son is wearing at 14:00 of the video. I bought mine from a member selling them on the now defunct "The Bad" website about 13 years ago, a website devoted to all things LVC.

The first time I ever seen Lee Van Cleef was in The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, then the bounty hunter in one of those "Dollars" Films with Clint. Then at some point I watched High Noon and spotted him there! Then Escape From NY, Death Rides A Horse, etc. I haven't seen everything he's been in but I'm working on it! I've always said that, in the movies, you can't have an effective hero without an exceedingly great bad ass bad guy. Lee Van Cleef is just that good :) RIP. Another great one, played a great cowboy, outlaw, etc etc. I saw a lot of movies and shows that he was in! I liked the show where he was suppose to be a ninja, that was pretty good too!

That was absolutely awesome! The speaker's voice is the best! I've heard him do other biographies. Thank you 😊.

His scene in “The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms” was my favorite of the entire movie!

Watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly so many times with my dad, he loved that movie. I see him and all I think is "Angel Eyes." Thanks for the information, very interesting.

    Hi Jerry Keith here.
I'm going to say it before I even watch your video.
I know this is a winner.
    You are the best buddy.
Standby I got one for you, nothing as great as yours but this is pretty good.
