James Coburn was among an unbelievable group of outstanding actors at that time, too many to name. But he was definitely exceptional and always turned in a great performance no matter what the role!

James Coburn lit up the screen as soon as he stepped in front of the camera. His voice was recognizable after two words. In the Magnificent Seven, every scene he was in, he stole! Loved him! RIP

I cant remember how old i was but probably around 9 or 10yrs old & my mum & dad took me to the cinema to see some cowboy film as i was obsessed with cowboys & indians & played it with my friends all the time
Well, as soon as i clapped eyes on James Coburn ... something happened that changed me forever...i fell in love with him
James was plastered all over my bedroom wall, begging my parents to send off to various American publishers to send me weekly or fortnightly film magazines so i could put up James's posters all over my walls & even ceilling!
It lasted most of my life, hes always been one of my favourite actors as was Steve McQueen
He had a marvellous presense & wonderful voice instantly recognisable
Same with the great Sam Elliot too, i must have a " thing" about these Silver Fox type men
Also they were & are brilliant actors too
Thank you for this, lovely seeing James again

For me Coburn was overlooked cos he brought out the best in the actors around him.
I also think Leone's " Duck you sucker " or " once upon a time ...a revolution " which was the second in leone's "once upon a time " trilogy was was one of Coburns best roles( crosd off iron a close second) .A truly magnificent film with Rod Steiger being thr perfect counterpoint to Coburns " Sean an Irish revolutionary escaped to America .Anyone thats likes westerns with a political edge i urge you to watch it .
    Great video pop's.

@@JerrySkinner1943 Hey Jerry, I bet you didn't know that James Coburn had a twin brother. His name was Robert Coburn. He taught philosophy at Ohio State. I researched this after watching this video. Just a little trivia for you Jerry. :-)

Thanks for your efforts on this channel. It was great time in Hollywood pictures and television because of all the great actors who were the real deal. Most of them served in the US Armed Forces. They were gentlemen who respected others and I feel like there was nothing phony about them. These videos take you back in time which is a good feeling. 💪👍
