I had a terrible holiday in Spain in the 90s. We all found it quite funny tbh. The best part was the pool looked huge on the brochures. We got there and it was the size of a bath.
My friend went to Bulgaria a few years ago for a holiday in July 2017 and she said the holiday was awful from start to finish. She said the weather was freezing and cold! I guess you get what you pay for I suppose. Everyone has different opinions towards a different holiday destination. I rather pay more money to travel to travel to Greece, Cyprus or Turkey because they're decent and brilliant holidays to go on. Spain and Canary Islands are alright but not the best though. I heard Tunisia is supposed to be good but I've never been to Tunisia before. I heard their beaches are beautiful and sandy! I love to try Tunisia next for a holiday. All places throughout the world have good and bad points about it.
Do not go to Tunisia its the worst holiday I've ever been on . If you go all inclusive then stay in your resort . If you leave the hotel for a wonder about the locals will be all over you like a rash and wont leave you alone without getting money off you. Go to Turkey or Greece instead

My Granddad sadly passed away this weekend, and I'm looking for an episode of Holidays from Hell which features him and my Grandma after their cruise ship sank in Malaysia.....! All turned out OK, they were uninjured and were compensated etc, but it was a really funny interview that my Grandad did and I'm looking to track down a copy of the episode. You may try typing Holidays from Hell and Sun Vista, or try different combinations of wording in google, but mainly google Video option may be of help, it could be there somewhere..and possibly named something different. There are some random TH-cam videos about the sun vista as well. As a last chance, you could find the network information/production company for the show and contact them. Maybe by explaining your situation it may have them open their hearts to help you. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hopefully you find what you are looking for. Best of Luck.
Judging by the time stamps on some of the old camera's it seems mid to late 90's which sounds about right when you look at the prices of the holidays and video quality of their camera's
Bulgaria had been independent from the USSR for 8-9 years at this point. These guys can’t expect it to be totally rosey. I for one like ex soviet countries and their quirks

See pees from between her legs not from the rear end. So as she can not pee backwards how could she get her rear mid section over the pool side with out falling in? Lol. Sorry but I couldn't help laughing trying to see how such would be possible.

Cannot agree more. ITV used to be good with proper investigate documentaries like World In Action and The Cook Report. Now it's unadulterated trash. And the sad thing is it's what the public wants. They want these brainless talent contests because they don't have to think.

The one place I truly loved was Club Bucanero, sadly it was destroyed by a hurricane. Will go again in November but I am so worried the US will muck it up with their Burger King's and all sorts of other fast food places. I gave my view on Cuba before I saw what happened to the tourists. I have never seen any part of Havana looking like that honestly. I would be pissed as well. When you pay for an all inclusive trip and you think it is a 5 star it is usually a 3. All inclusive includes air fare, room and board and all you can drink. Those that drink do just that drink from sun up to sundown. Ask around before you go on ANY all inclusive. Cockroaches - I saw 2 while I was in Cuba. Cockroaches are the norm in Key Largo, Florida, Bermuda, Bahamas, they do not discriminate they will set up house in any warm country. As for being prettied up, that video is not at all representative of the whole of Cuba. You will find a few hotels that are 250US a night that cater to deep sea divers from all over the world. Too bad they only showed a down side one.

I was talking to my parents about it and I said that it had featured on this programme and I would try and find out when. I had no idea I’d find the episode here on TH-cam. So I am very very grateful to you for uploading this. Whilst holidaying here, we saw frogs in the pool, algae and poo in the pool. There was a wild horse running wild in the tennis courts (that had no nets). Ants and cockroaches in the room and double doors that led out to a forest of nettles. Never again.

There probably weren't any other hotels to easily have moved to, plus they very likely couldn't have just charged a substantial amount of money on top of what they'd already paid for the package.

I had a horse trek from hell with bullying, harrassment, et c. in Iceland in 2001, and another bad one in Western Turkey in 2010, with bullying, harrassment, and EXTORTION. Of course I complained for both, politely, concisely, for both registered mail, and there were no resolutions. In both cases, also, other vacationers scapegoated me and nothing was done to defend me when I asked. My spouse saw the first one and certainly did speak up but to no avail.

First look the date of the footage. This is back in the 90's when almost everything in Bulgaria was in ruins. Today the resorts are totally different and many of the old hotels are demolished and new stand on their place. So don't be ignorant yourself and check the current situations next time.
What's funny is my holiday from hell was in London. My father dragged me there in late December and I was fully aware of how brutal British winters can be. I F-F-FROZE so badly that I wanted to die. I took a lot of pictures but thanks to the constantly gloomy British weather, my holiday pics looked just as gloomy too! Oh, well, the locals were friendly and at least I got to see some historical sites such as the Tower of London and saw the changing of the guard at the palace. My holiday was cut short when I caught the flu so it was back home, stuck in bed for a week! I think if the hotel manager had been a real life Basil Fawlty that would have been the final straw and I would have thrown myself from the nearest bridge, praying the Thames would make my death quick...
this is hysterical to say the least...... However, not really funny.... I always go where I know.... You cannot beat Vegas, Palm Springs or Hawaii - but if living in the UK - you h ave to take a chance. But y'all welcome here in California. Check out Palm Springs you will love it although flight perhaps too long...
Luckily for me, TripAdvisor and Google earth were created in 2000/2001, so Before spending thousands of £s on ANY holiday I always do research before giving the grinning travel agents my hard earned cash . I went Dominican republic, avoided hurricane season and researched the area with Google earth, had a great time. Long live the internet 👍🏻

From and Anthropological perspective- it does annoy me when these western people go to other countries and expect it to be all just western and how they like it. This is how people live in Bulgaria, especially back in 1999, and its not an invalid or 'wrong' culture.
I love the way that these lovely people made the best of it and were able to inject some humour into the situation! The place was an utter dump! Oh, and curry for breakfast sounds great to me 😃

First look the date of the footage. This is back in the 90's when almost everything in Bulgaria was in ruins. Today the resorts are totally different and many of the old hotels are demolished and new stand on their place. So don't be ignorant yourself and check the current situations next time.

What's funny is my holiday from hell was in London. My father dragged me there in late December and I was fully aware of how brutal British winters can be. I F-F-FROZE so badly that I wanted to die. I took a lot of pictures but thanks to the constantly gloomy British weather, my holiday pics looked just as gloomy too! Oh, well, the locals were friendly and at least I got to see some historical sites such as the Tower of London and saw the changing of the guard at the palace. My holiday was cut short when I caught the flu so it was back home, stuck in bed for a week! I think if the hotel manager had been a real life Basil Fawlty that would have been the final straw and I would have thrown myself from the nearest bridge, praying the Thames would make my death quick...
this is hysterical to say the least...... However, not really funny.... I always go where I know.... You cannot beat Vegas, Palm Springs or Hawaii - but if living in the UK - you h ave to take a chance. But y'all welcome here in California. Check out Palm Springs you will love it although flight perhaps too long...
Luckily for me, TripAdvisor and Google earth were created in 2000/2001, so Before spending thousands of £s on ANY holiday I always do research before giving the grinning travel agents my hard earned cash . I went Dominican republic, avoided hurricane season and researched the area with Google earth, had a great time. Long live the internet 👍🏻
I took a vacation to cali last month and watched people taking a crap on side walks, shooting up drugs everywhere and home less every where and police chases.. so glad to get the hell out of cali and be back home
Saw that in Dublin too often too, but the tourists keep coming and rave about the place.

British people want to spend their holidays in luxury for the price of a monthly benefit LOL Luxus cost everywhere .For many years we have been spending our holiday in Bulgaria and I can recommend. Have a grudge against the english travel agency,because they cheated you !

From and Anthropological perspective- it does annoy me when these western people go to other countries and expect it to be all just western and how they like it. This is how people live in Bulgaria, especially back in 1999, and its not an invalid or 'wrong' culture.

Almost 400 dollars for 14 days get away...also in the picture with the cow and the potted palm, showed a nice clean crisp pool...so it obviously wasnt that bad
