My husband and I took a trip to Turkey and Egypt. By the end of each excursion, I had a handful of cell numbers given to me by young men. This was done right in front of my husband. I'm a little ole lady in my 60s and never did I ever think these young men were interested in me. It was evident they saw me as a Green Card. 😂

For the life of me, I cannot understand how these woman, who have had successful careers would believe that these young good looking men are in love with them. If you are 60 and matronly looking, there is nothing wrong with that, everybody ages but realistically why on earth would you believe someone who is so much younger and fit and has access to local attractive woman would be deeply in love? Loneliness really makes people set all common sense to one side.
So agree, I think these women just have to have a high opinion of themself. I just dont get it. I dont think I am the worst looking and always had a low esteem but I am 53 and no 26 year old man would convince me how in love he is with me lol. When I look back and my picks when I was young with still low esteem (and now I see I did actually didnt look bad) I would never ever fallen for these tricks, oh well maybe the sweet talking yes but once I would be asked for money that would be it. I know an russian Girl, she was get send like this to Egypt in the age of 16 from her parents to married an Egypt man who they meet in the holidays too. The reason was, that the parents not have to pay anymore for there girl because she is married. She is now since arround 10 years in Egypt and diverse since 2 years from this guy because he was not taking care at all of her and the child. She was earn the money from working in hotel and he spend everything.

I was very lonely, traumatised and no-one had touched me for almost 2 years. A man from my social group showed an interest in me and he treated me very very badly and then I saw him do the same thing to others in the group. He was much younger than me. I fell in love with him. Our time together was short thankfully. I didn't really have any illusions about him but I thought he actually liked me for me. I don't regret it and in fact I learned so much from this relationship. I then went out and dated lots and lots of young men. I ended up in a relationship with one but we broke up when he refused to introduce me to his friends. I found going out with the young men to be very good for my confidence and I learned a lot more about myself. I effectively gave up dating all together and then I became a stand up comedian. I swopped the young men for comedy. I'm actually quite happy on my own and I'm ready to love again.
When I heard Jane's story - she was 56 and he was 28. I could sort of understand if she was a Jane Seymour or Joan Collins type, as they are beautiful and sexy women, in fantastic shape. Men are visual, and looks are what initially attracts, and then if the man is decent, it is personality and character. I think the 28-year-old man was attracted to her wallet and immigration status. If you cannot get a man like that here in the UK, then you have to ask yourself why, and face reality. The guys are poor and desperate, they are not looking for love, they are looking for a fool who can provide an expensive and continuous meal ticket.

I wish there were more 'classes' in educational institutions or in general about psychopathy, sociopathy, and how these people use and create toxic relationships. That's what each of these victims dealt with. No need to blame the victims - whether they're young or old - it's people who believe in the 'general good' and in the concept of 'true love.' No matter their ages, these victims 'trust' others ... too easily ... too much. Been there and done that myself. Easy for us to sit back and watch this after the research and results are in and think we're too smart to be fooled by any con artist.

There'll always be people who get scammed. For a variety of reasons. We all feel safe from scams because we're oh so smart and feel really superior to these victims. They're just stupid. We're not stupid so we're safe we think. But depending on the scam and when it hits you, we can all for scams of one sort or another. It's been pretty reliably demonstrated. So stay vigilant, there's more scams than romance scams

When I last went to Egypt, I was in my 40s and I was pestered relentlessly. When I got rid of one annoying paramour, another stepped in. I remember running to hide from one on a moonlit night outside the temple of Abu Simbel. He chased me until I had to yell at him to leave me alone. It really spoiled my evening in an amazing place.
To top it off, a man from my party said “what’s the problem, take him back to England, you’ve got plenty of space in your house” (ugh!!) I wasn’t fooled by any of their ridiculous patter, but I can imagine women desperate for love and lonely with low self esteem would fall for these scammers. They do all they can to convince their target that she’s what they’ve been looking for all their lives.
