Urdnot Wreav quotes:
"...I suggest this salarian show some [respect] by starting with my name: Urdnot Wreav."
"Oh, I'm deadly serious. You need our help? Then here's what you're going to do... Cure the genophage."
"Those females are immune to the genophage, and they belong to me!"
"I never like talking to salarians. Not unless they’re begging for their lives."
"As the one who cured the genophage, my word will be law over all krogan clans."
"Krogan don't waste time voicing opinions. We just crush everyone else who has one."
"You’re too polite Shepard."
(On Earth) "Shepard. We thought we’d drop by and pull you humans from the fire. In return, I want to own the place you call 'Australia'. Just kidding. For now."
Here's a link to a walkthrough for saving Wrex on Virmire in Mass Effect 1:
masseffect.wiki...
In ME1 you need to make sure Wrex doesn't die on Virmire to avoid having Wreav leading the krogan in ME3. To do that you need to make sure you either:
Retrieve Wrex's family armour
Have enough charm/intimidate to persuade him to help destroy the base
Choose not to recruit Garrus on the Citadel and do only Feros and Noveria before Virmire (hence no Liara in party before Virmire)
No wonder Wrex was indifferent to his death.
Eve/Bakara: "What about Wreav?"
Wrex: "No way he survived that! And he was a pain in the ass anyway."
Wrex pretty much hates Wreav. They may share the same mom. But Wrex has the brains out of the two.
Thats how krogan react in general
I really don't like Wreav, I prefer Wrex.
@@johnsullivan6192No one likes Wreav. He embodies the negative stereotypes of Krogan. He's there so if Wrex is dead, sabotaging the cure is more enticing.
Wrex: Wreav and I share the same mother and nothing else
My thoughts: yeah it doesn’t look like you shared your toys
"Must be terrifying to have a problem you can't solve with a shotgun"
Mordin, you Savage!
Good thing Wrex was alive in my playthrough, because if this guy was the Krogan I was dealing with, I wouldn't have cured the genophage.
throw him out the airlock m8
Arthus850 I just withheld the cure on my second playthough, I thought I would feel bad but with space toad Hitler leading the krogan it was an easy decision
Arthus850 If you're trying to go for maximum War Assets, killing Wrex is the way to go since Wreav won't notice that you sabotaged the Genophage, allowing you to have the might of both the Salarians and Krogan.
I thought you get full Salarian support after the Cerberus raid on the citadel if the Salarian councilor survives (Thane or Kirrahe must be alive)
OperationDEEZ You only get the support of the Salarian Third Fleet. Stopping the Genophage cure dispersal gives you the support of the Salarian First Fleet.
Props to his voice actor though, he does a really good job being a arrogant, annoying, and bloodthirsty Krogan
Winnie the Pooh. Not joking

Wreav doesn't even headbutt the opposing Krogan? What a wuss. Another reason to keep Wrex alive.
Pathetic.

Such weakness...
@Grungus Khan Wrex is also a powerful biotic.
@Grungus Khan Wrex is a battlemaster Battlemasters are known for being the most powerful biotics in the galaxy Rivaling asari matariachs and justicars. The point is Wrex is one of the most feared warriors in Shepard's squad. and would curbstomp Wreav in a fight.
Of all wreav’s ridiculous bluster, his assumption that the reapers are scared of him and his people is probably the most ludicrous.
Its particularly pathetic how he complains about the Reapers poisoning the atmosphere as 'cowardly'. Because, you know, the race of genocidal AI starships is going to play fair with the frogs with anger issues.
Yeah, they're tough ground troops but lack the naval power to be much of a threat to the reapers. Probably why the reaper attack on Tuchanka was so half-assed. It's pretty obvious that the reapers consider the turians and humans the biggest threats, and even they can barely scratch the reaper fleet.
Late but, it's like Kai Leng being referred to by Anderson as a 'Bigger threat than the fucking Reapers.' like get that shit out of here man.
@@Tlevidsto the point that Reapers didn't even use Krogans to make their troops like they did with marauder, banshee or Husk
Worst thing in this timeline is never getting to hear one of Wrex’s best lines: “I AM URDNOT WREX AND THIS IS MY PLANET!!!”
On top of that:
"Shepard, get that second hammer going!"
"There's a Reaper in my way Wrex!!!"
"I know, you get all the fun!"
And Wrex's involvement in Citadel.
Wrev is the leader they deserve
Wrex is the leader they need
Guilherme Almeida I disagree. Both on Tachunka and after the Genophage was cured the Krogan proved that they are a very honorable people that deserve their right to life
Yeah, sure. But after that they pop out babies like nobody's business and invade other species' planets because those lizards are literally running out of room to live.
Wrev is your punishment for failing to keep Wrex.
Sometimes I wonder why Wreav has his name, it should be "Wreks"
Only with Wreav can we sabotage the cure. And frankly its logical. 1000 eggs per year is too much
Wow, I didn’t remember how much of an asshole he is, since I never let Wrex die.
Wrex plans on honoring Mordin by naming one of the babies after him and Wreav doesn’t want the others to know that a salarian saved them. Wrex actually loves his people while Wreav only wants power :/
Wreav on the Rachni: "Maybe a race that started a galactic war can't be trusted to keep their word."
With Wreav in charge instead of Wrex, the same is true of the Krogan. But he's too stupid to understand the irony of his statement. Or even what irony means...
You can trust Wreav to keep his word. Revenge.
If irony isn't something he can sight down a pair of crosshairs, I'm not sure he cares.
Like jarmoksvk said, you can trust Wreav to keep his word. He states his intentions plainly.
Wrex funny and idiot
Wreve evil and not enough
@@Deadsnake98-Shorts Wrex is a smart Krogan. You can't trick him about genophage. Smart people are fun and funny but idiots are not.
What's a shame is how little of a role Wreav plays if you keep Wrex alive. Wreav's a colossal asshat, but he still represents the problems that the rest of the council has with the Krogan, and why they're so hesitant to cure the genophage. It's a dichotomy that's lacking when Wrex is alive.
good point
Raptormann0205 The way he gets killed off is satisfying though.
Raptormann0205 I agree. Even though I hate Wreav, he would’ve been good to keep around as a reminder that ‘Maybe curing the genophage isn’t the best idea’. With just Wrex around it basically comes across as ‘Curing the genophage is a good thing and if you don’t you’re betraying your best friend’. It’s very black and white and having Wreav around would give it more impact.
That's because Wrex was already doing a cultural overhaul during ME2, the majority of the "many bad Krogan" either converted, or killed off by the time ME3 starts.
Paragade The reminder is already there if you have seen krogan from 1 until now . The whole galaxy is so point on all krogan are terrible that they never tried to see the possibility of growth in them. Keeping wrex alive and building that bond proves that in having that, it is possible that the genophage was not the only option. We have been reminded by them(krogan) and the galaxy as well as blood pack membership. This fact drives many to save wrex in the first place. Wreav had no exposure the way wrex had so he will be driven to what he believes is justice. So i think this is a good move.
It woulda been funny if wreav was sterile and mordin told him “ yeah were gonna need a better krogan go get grunt”
I spit out my drink this is hilarious XD
Wreav: Bioware's way of telling the player fuck you for killing Wrex xD
They have a few of those. You've got Legion, where if you didn't activate him, chose to sell him off to Cerberus, or he dies in the Suicide Mission (though that isn't ENTIRELY your fault), you get the look-alike that doesn't believe in Geth-Quarian peace.
Stealth The Fox Thar peace is pointless any way for two reasons. First Geth are souless genocidebots two best ending wipes out geth.
Just because Shepard survives doesn't make it the best ending. And the Geth retaliated when threatened, so their actions were justified. Hell, they didn't even chase after the Quarians after they fled Rannoch. The only exception was the Geth who sided with Saren.
So the Quarians AREN'T monsters for not only wanting to track down every Geth, even ones that weren't rebelling, and slaughtering their own people for wanting to defend them?
By the way you don't have to be an ass about it.
"Better not hurt."
"...No promises."
Shepard: "Why are you even here?"
Wreav: "I'm here cause you fu*k'ed up!"
Shepard: "....damn..."
8:15 The irony is completely lost on him.
Wreav: ”we already killed one Reaper didn't we?”
Yeah and you had the help of a giant ass alien worm.
Technically it's only alien to humans. To krogans, that's a native species of Tuchanka so ingrained in their traditions fighting one is a rite of maturity for every fledgling krogan, and killing one during said rite is the easiest way to gain prestige and respect
@@floricel_112 Actually, Thresher Maws are easily spread through spores that can survive the vacuum of space. It's not known where they're native to, and were likely spread by an earlier alien species. They're definitely tough enough for Tuchanka though.

2) wrex is a total bro

"the reapers are taking it slow on Tuchanka"
Erm... whats left to blow up on Tuchanka to begin with?
And this is why you keep Wrex alive.
If Wrex or even Grunt was the leader, i could cure the Krogan. But with Wreav, no cure and Mordin has to die.

Only if Eve dies too
@@steelbear2063 Eve dies regardless if you don't play ME2 or save the data.
Actually if you save Maelons work at the end of Mordins loyalty mission Eve can survive
the problem is I fucked up in mass effect 2 and saved the data by accident so I killed wrex for nothing and I cant even convince Mordin I am so mad
This is one of the reasons I can never bring myself to kill Wrex. Another reason is Wrex’s vision for the Krogan is more promising then Wreav’s and he won’t same mistakes twice. In my opinion, Wrex is the leader the Krogan deserve. Wreav is just your typical warmongering Krogan, whereas Wrex, in Bakara’s opinion, is a “mutant.” Whilst he shares his people love for battle, he’s not as bloodthirsty and brutal as Wreav, and does not want another war. My main reason for not killing Wrex is because he’s too awesome to kill, he, along with Garrus and Liara, is one of my favourite squadmates.
I actually think that Wreav is the leader they deserve, while Wrex is the leader they need, if there is to be any hope for improvement.
If I kill Wrex in ME1 it’s because Shepard would not know the repercussions of their action. There’s no other reason. It’s fun to play the game knowing the outcome of everything but in a roleplaying sense it doesn’t always make sense.
@@jirkazalabak1514What the hell are you smoking? The Krogan absolutely so not deserve Wreav, Wrex is the leader the Krogan need AND deserve.
@@lordzanthartehallen8963 Unfortunately, most Krogan are closer to Wreav´s way of thinking than they are to that of Wrex. If you speak to the Krogan in the Urdnot camp in ME2, they are much more appreciative of Wreav than they are of Wrex. Even Bakara (Eve) admits this by affectionately saying that Wrex is a "mutant". Sure, Wrex is the better leader by far, but there is a reason why, if he dies, it´s automatically Wreav who becomes the leader.
@@jirkazalabak1514you and Wrex basically destroy any organized opposition to Wrex before 2, though.
Some individuals will be stupid, but if that’s the case for every species, we’d have already been slaughtered en masse
What a lot of people don't realize is that Wreav is the standard krogan; arrogant, brash, brutal, and bull-headed. This is what the majority of the galaxy has dealt with. Eve put it best in regards to Wrex- he's a mutant. He's aberrant when it comes to krogan, from the time he tried talking his father down from senseless infighting among krogan to instead focus on repopulating. But Wreav? Wreav is your garden-variety krogan, the typical one of their kind. Wrex is the standout, and it's easy to fail to see that when Wrex is alive.
On one hand, Wreav is an interesting look at conservative-minded Krogan, but on the other, you have to replace Wrex with him to see any of it. Kinda sucks that way.
not if you dont want to cure genofage at all, if you dont kill wrex in ME1 you have to do this in ME3 in more disturbing way
"Maybe a race that started a galactic war can't be trusted to keep their word."
A little on the nose there Wreav.
It's too bad Wreav doesn't have much of a role if Wrex lives. He's pretty interesting and you'd think being Wrex's brother would be a bigger deal.
I find it amusing that Wreav steals credit from the female clan leader for the decoy idea. He not only treats his women like garbage but makes it sound like he treats them *even worse than he actually does.*
I love how the only think that made Wreav shutter was Mordin explaining how he could do so much worse with just a needle

Ruthless. Cold blooded. Vengeful. Brutal. Tyrannical. To show just how fearsome the Krogan can be.
In my playthoughs, either Wrex survives on Virmire or all Krogan die. I'd rather keep Mordin alive than Wreav.
Sabotaging the cure is honestly the best option in a playthrough with Wreav in charge. Who knows what the krogan will do after the war under his leadership.
Me I can never bring myself around to killing Wrex. Their reunion in ME2 is such a feel good moment and you miss out on some awesome and funny scenes in the Citadel DLC.
Wrex > Wreav every time.
41Brother correct
I had to Kill Wrex my first time playing cause I fucked around and didn’t do his family Armor mission nor did I have enough paragon points to talk him down. By the time ME3 came around, it was one of the biggest regrets I had in the series next to killing Mordin to sabotage the cure. So, without Wrex, I had 3 disasters happen 😑
Despite how annoying Wreav is, it's cool how there are so many different paths throughout the trilogy. And how those changes could affect what choice you make next. Great job bioware.
He is kind of mean but he has nice eyes.
My play through had Wreave and Eve as the 2 main Krogan. This made curing the Genophage one of the most difficult choices I ever had to make. Especially because Mordin refuses to sabotage it Eve is still alive…
Makes me super happy that I kept Wrex alive and called him a friend within the game
If I ever was forced to work with wreav, I'd gladly agree with that dalatrass. It would also be a major plus to have mordin alive anyway.
Missed one awesome quote with Javik
Wreav:"And who are you?"
Javik:"Prothean"
Wreav:"And how many of you left?"
Javik:"Enough to kill you"
"And how many of you left?"
Yeah, that's the point Wreav, that's what he's trying to say. He's stupid lol
I love watching the passive agressiveness between him and Mordin.
He’s the reason I sabotaged the cure in my first play through. I didn’t have enough paragon or renegade points to talk down Wrex in ME1, so I sadly had to shoot him. Got stuck with this fool, hated him since ME2. When the Dalatrass mentions the sabotage, I said fuck it. It also meant I had to kill Mordin, which hurt me more than sabotaging the cure.
Whenever I have a play through with wreav leading krogan. He always convinces me to sabotage the cure 🤷♂️
Wrex holds all the decks
Wreav you must deceive
I love the moment when Wrev and Wrex get asked what they want for support.
Wrev commands them, like a bully holding all the power, to do as he pleases.
While Wrex starts with “I tell you what I need”
Wrex understands that alien help is the only way his people could be saved and is basically “wasting” a free wish for anything on the Krogan.
While Wrev clearly doesn’t care. He just does this, because he likes to make the Aliens do something they hate, while becoming a god in return.
Wait, Mordin doesn't sing Scientist Salarian if you have wreav? Holy shit, there's yet another reason to save Wrex
As far as I know, he doesn't sing if you don't talk to him much or become close to him in ME2. At least that's what I know.
Wreav was the reason why I did not cure the genophage. Under him, the reborn krogan would become a threat almost as grave as the reapers.
If Wrex survives I always save the Krogan, whether I'm playing Renegade or Paragon. But if Wreav is the ruler, I always side with the Dalatras in the end
Wrex: wants to cure the genophage to save his people and assure the survival of the krogan and deems Shepard a hero for helping his people be cured.
Wreav: wants to cure the genophage to assimilate greater power among his people, thinks he is the sole responsible for the cure of his poeple.
Yeah, he's a scumbag. Even as a mercenary killing for credits like Wrex once was in ME, he had better visions about the future and his people than Wreav in ME3.

Playing ME3 made me happy I decided to save Wrex on Virmire. At first I had missed his mission and Ashley shot him down. I didn't like Wrex that much back then, thought he was a rude brute. But I felt bad about his death, so I looked it up and went back a few saves and redid it.
In ME2 I started warming up to Wrex a bit. Now I absolutely love him! Maybe I'll let Ashley live in my next playthrough - maybe I'll like her too by the third game xD
Aleksa Petrovic Yeah, you are probably right. I just didn't understand Wrex at first. And after meeting some other krogans I realised that Wrex was actually quite civil xD
Emma Eriksdotter HAHAHA no.
Ashley remains pretty much the same, if not worse. In fact, ignoring romance, she pretty much refuses to trust you in the slightest because you at one point worked with Cerberus to get something done. Then stole their ship and crew.
FORMINCRAFTIA Sounds like there will be continued outbursts of the phrase "godammit Ashley!" through the rest of my playthrough then xD
Get closer to him and you'll see more of why he's unhappy with his race.
Mordin is a savage with Wreav lol
Didn't he have a red plate in the second game? Hm, they probably changed it to brown to distinguish between him and Wrex.

The biggest difference between Wrex and Wreav is that Wrex is a *true* leader.
Wreav doesn't have what it takes to lead, so he resorts to violence, threats, and being a tyrant.

Rest in peace Mordin, it was real man
In my game Wrex always survive Virmir but if not and Wrev will be leader i will never cure genophage

If Wrex is dead, the best outcome is to convince Mordin to sabotage the cure. The Krogan under Wreav are a ticking bomb
Perhaps, though I feel like the decision to cure or sabotage should be based on the krogan as a whole rather than on the specific leader who happens to be leading them at the time of ME3. Neither Wrex or Wreav will be around indefinitely, whereas the outcome of the genophage is far more long-term.
@@Tlevids Maybe, but like the Asari, the Krogan live for thousands of years (Wrex was alive during the Krogan rebellions, which happened about 1400 years ago), so he could be around enough time to stir the Krogan through the right path.

"Maybe a raoe that started a galactic war can't be trusted to keep their word". Oh the irony.
I got this guy on my very first play, I wasn't able to save Wrex on Virmire. Once I met Wreave, I realized that saving the cure data was bad idea. I didn't like the way that play through ended, so I started over and was able to save Wrex. Saved the cure data, cured the Genophage, happy ending.
This video just makes me love Wrex more and more.
People can say what they want, but honestly the best of Milky Way really got left behind in this war.
This is what 15% of the characters, and they are way more interesting and show way more leadership than the entire initiative put together. And people wonder why Andromeda got such a bad rep, seriously even Wreav is more interesting the majority of characters in that game.
Well the only way i would support letting Wrex die is if you're aiming for a playthrough where you get both the salarian and the krogan fleet to help by tricking Wreav into believing the genophage is cured but really isnt.
Dear God, Wreav was so annoying that I ended up helping Aria retake Omega and her Couch between Priority: Sur'kesh and Tuchanka just so Shepard could have some time away from him... Mordin survived though so all's well that ends well I guess.

Well, curing the genophage with Wreav as a leader of krogans is a huge mistake imo
Disagree!! Let the Krogans enslave the galaxy, they need a change of management anyways.
I think the main reason ME3 was so bad is that the default Shepard, the one you make when you dont play the other 2 games (like you should >_>), made so many stupid mistakes that compound to a disaster. ME3 was supposed to be a culmination of decisions you've made throughout the series, but they assumed you'd make the wrong ones, which is both cynical and weird. I don't know a single person who didnt at least try to save Wrex, or who only didnt chastise the quarians because they didnt have enough reputation to do it. Everything in ME3 seems unnatural and *evil* because for some reason they insist that Shepard is a heartless idiot by default
And that philosophy was kind of exemplified with the Krogan plotline. Wrex was basically treated as a cute little nostalgia bottle instead of the crucial piece of Krogan politics he *should* be. There are only a few line differences between Wrex and Wreave, but theyre theoretically important if you really care about the after effects.
God, Wreav is the biggest eye roll in this series. -_-
I actually like Wreav more than Wrex from a story perspective. He represents the typical Krogan, flaws and all. And that makes the decision to save them or not more thought-provoking.
