    You are so freaking awesome!!! I watched your video 2 days ago because my sons tv starting jumping and flickering. I automatically assumed he broke it so I was pissed at him. I said go on TH-cam and see if you can find out if we can fix it. Smh he said he did and saw nothing. I look and I immediately find you.
    My son and I take all the screws out and now I have no idea what to touch , so I tap into my memory of your video, this video that I watched 2 days ago. I push a cord down even though it wasn't loose , I grab a piece of tape and put it on the cable I'm touching. I close it up and put it back together and plug it up. Crossing my fingers and hoping I fixed it... Booooyah baby !!!! No more jumping or flickering and a half hour later everything is still fine.... 😁😁😁😁😁😁 Thank you so much for this video because I was thinking damn I really don't want to buy another TV, and now I don't have to... 😘😘😘😘

    A 'Cold Joint' is one where the solder did not melt completely. It is often characterized by a rough or lumpy surface. Cold joints are unreliable. The solder bond will be poor and the cracks may develop in the joint over time. The boards need to be re-flowed. I am glad resenting the ribbon cable fixed your issue. If it happens again re-solder is in order.

    • @SassyTHC
      @SassyTHC ปีที่แล้ว

      cold joint.. is this why when my monitor has been on for 5 mins and it heats up then it starts working again like nothing is wrong? is this really to do with heat.

    Pro-tip... Always cut electrical tape, don't tear it. Tearing it stretches it, and then it wants to return to shape later and comes loose. Cutting it allows it to sit firmly and stay put.

    • @rapidtronics
      @rapidtronics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll take your pro tip!

    • @Cyril29a
      @Cyril29a ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on your use case. It is designed to want to come back and be stretched when yo wrap tape around itself for insulation or for cable management. It wanting ot pull back keeps the wrap nice and light and keeps it from opening. If you want to use electrical tape flat or to actually tape something down you might want to use some other kind of tape. Electrical tape doesn't stick well to most things

    Mine did the same. Sony KD-43X8000D APS-405 power board. I checked the circuit and found 3 Schottky diodes on on heat sink next to the APS-405 label, one of them was leaking between the anodes and cathodes. Replaced all three. Now TV is spiffy again. You do not need to replace the board for it. You can bye the diodes from any radio shack shop.

    Cool repair.
    My Viewsonic 2038wm-LED monitor turns on but the screen image flashes every few seconds (screen is on, screen is off, screen is on. The image actually looks good, not faded or anything). The term may be it's flickering every second or every few seconds?
    These are cylindrical electrolytical capacitors, I see which aren't bulging or seems to be damaged:
    Electrolytical Capacitors
    100v 33nF
    25v 30nF
    25v 330nF
    10 680nF
    50v 47nF
    16v 470nF
    16v 470nF
    450v 100nF huge one (the largest)
    Ceramic capacitors I see are:
    4 blue ones, one blackish & one light brown
    The nearest to the connector to the LCD controller board are the two 16v 470nF capacitors.
    Which could be the possible culprit?
    Thank you. God bless, Proverbs 31

    Sony make the absolute worst TV's especially if you want to use one as a monitor. I got a 48 Bravia for Christmas a year ago & it is terrible

    So, I guess you bought a new one , because if you kept seeing marvel shit, any tv will be fucked.

    You're explanation seems good, but, your videoing sucks. You keep saying see this strip, NO WE DONT SEE IT. THE black face plate is in the way. you need to move the camera to where the strips are so we can see exactly what they look like.

    Won't ever buy Sony again. High price and poor quality. Used to be premium brand.
