    I cant do any more clio videos at the moment as i have no clio to work on anymore.
    But the central bit that holds the clock and heater vents etc, its plastic welded into the whole top section of the dash, if you have the top section off you will be able to see, im sure a combination of drills, soldering iron and a dremel the section might come out.
    The vents opening and closing mechanism is on the back of the top section

    It was only an old car for spares
    The editing may make the removal of some parts look a bit faster but i didnt beat or damage any parts off the car.

    I never went near the door trim in this video.
    If however you are referring to the A pillar trim, i removed it to allow the dash top to slide back and disengage from the clips that it is sitting in, you might be able to get it out with them in the way but for an easy job and to avoid damage i remove the part first.

      Hello there, are you referring to the stainless steel looking bit of plastic trim with the word airbag printed on it, yes that clips off and can be clipped back on fairly easily, I've seen quite a few clios with this bit of trim painted different colure.

    Dear sir. I really love your videos, and they have helped me a lot so far. I have a problem, and need help. The backlight on my heat/fan/air direction knobs is dying out. For now, only one of the bulbs died, and I would like to replace it. I managed to remove the plastic cup around the ashtray, but how do I remove the central parts holding the bulbs? thank you

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't remember 100% accurately how the vent controller comes out i think the plastic panel between it and the radio is clipped in, as is the plastic panel below it then that might expose the screws. Its worth double checking on renault forums just to find out if there are any clips or other screws to remove.

    Hi, how easy would it be to remove the passenger airbag once the dashboard has been taken off?

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Liam Brett Its fairly easy, if you have the dash top off the fasteners securing the passenger module should be accessible, i cant remember exactly what size or how they were attached but i have removed the modules before. As with any of the other airbags don't do any work on the system until about 15 minutes have passed since disconnecting the battery.

    Somebody help! Passangers side part of dash near windscreen caught on something, been trying 45 to do the last step and it will not clip out

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the clips it slots into up near the windscreen can be a bit tight, and it needs a bit of persuasion to click it out. But check over the dash and make sure all the screws are out especially the plastic ones at the corners of the dash. And the A pillar trims along the edges of the windscreen can make it awkward to remove if they are still in place

    hi,did you notice any fuses behind the dash?only after getting really damp in my clio the speedo and rev counter have stopped working

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +fostertop If i recall correctly the fuses are at the side of the dash, not sure of what ECUs are dotted around the back of the dash to be affected by moisture, probably the UCH unit, best to check on renualt forums to find out where water typically settles and causes this problem.

    • @MrDjDizco

      HardAsSponge I read someone saying: i have fitted them and even if you get the covers off (wouldn't bother not worth breaking them) the dash needs to come off I managed it in 20 minutes i am useless with these kind of things. and for some reason fixed my dash board rattles, all of them so a win win. • @SourceBTS
      @SourceBTS ปีที่แล้ว

      I changed mine without removing the dash. The vents covering the tweeters can be rotated if you press gently but firmly down and rotate . They may be difficult to budge but it is doable. Careful you don’t snap the clips holding the cover in place by twisting the wrong direction.
      I snapped one of mine, but it still sits snug in the hole so it’s not a big deal.
      With a little finesse, it is possible to pull out the original tweeters and fit in some new ones.

    Hi. Do you know how easy it is to remove the air vents as my air vents need fixing as they don't move up and down because the clip has Broken.

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The air vents need the dash top unit to be removed, as far as i recall they are plastic welded in place but a dremel with a cutting tool would get the welds cut and let you disassemble the vent unit, then a bit of JB weld could stick it back into place.

    Why did you remove the door seal. It seems that you can remove the A-pillar trim with the door seal still there.

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only pulled the door seal back a bit to gain improved access to the top clip holding the trim in place, it was important to show the top clip being pressed in on the camera, and that would not have been possible to do it with the seal in place. In the whole scale of this job peeling back the seal doesn't really require much more time or effort to do, it also makes putting the trim back on much easier if the seal is not in the way.

      I think they can be replaced, there are bulbs throughout the dashboard, they usually have an orange cap that can be scraped off and replaced with a piece of plastic of the desired colour. There are plenty of guides on the internet covering this, it is not something i ever modified in my clio but i have seen it done.
