It is a category where downtime (cutscenes) has been cut out. It requires cheat codes and it has own leaderboard here www.speedrun.com/smsce
- No intro
- Save boxes skipped
- You're sent to the next episode after collecting a Shine Sprite
- Cutscenes are skippable (Excluding Pinna 1 Mecha fight)
- Text boxes are skippable (Exclucing Pianta 5)

Speedrunners: Beats 5 levels in 30 seconds.
Me as a kid: Spends one hour on a level
Nahfr sometimes it take 2 to 3hrs to beat a level if you get stuck on a puzzle or something

this was a crazy good run. i'm surprised that this version of speedrunning where you just tale out the cut scenes isn't more popular. it just seems like a more fun and competitive way to speedrun

Why isn't this category ran more? It seems infinitely more fun than regular any% as you don't have to sit through literally half an hour of cutscenes
because its niche in terms of availability. a lot of runners run on the actual console, where fast any% isn't possible.
@@TheMike0088 This IS run on console. It is absurdly easy to mod your Wii and use Gecko/Nintendont. There really is no excuse not to run fast any%

I listen to super Mario sunshine speed runs just for the sounds, I love this game, such good vibes.
I’ve played this game to death, and I’m pretty good at it, but there is no way I could ever do all the amazing stuff you just did. This is the one game I wish I could speed run.
For those people that asks why Sunshine isnt a good gane for speedruns, it is basically for the King Boo boss, just because is the most random boss in the game, the fight can be done in 2m or in 20m.

I remember playing the mini levels and them being so damn hard. This game was one of the hardest mario games ever made.
More people need to see how quickly he beat this. Because that’s crazy.
The pace and maping are insane in this run.
The best thing about 3D Mario is the speedruns
Some are good. Super Mario 64, sunshine, 3d world and odesssy are all good, but some like the galaxy games are too simplistic and bland for speedrunning. Don't get my wrong Thier good games, just not speedrunning worthy sometimes

Im just here to get 3D all stars because I want to play 64 and galaxy I got sunshine already and i used to play that game when I was like 4.
Still playing it on my GameCube tho.
This took me weeks on game cube to beat multiple times growing up lol
Sunshine is my second favorite Mario game. It was my first but until Odyssey came out, it became second place but it’s still a phenomenal game.

You do not need to pull the bloopers’ nose all the way off. Once his eyes turn pink you can release and deal damage. :)

Harley Hartmann I’m not too sure yet but that would be cool! The sunshine switch controls are R to stand and spray, ZR to walk and spray, y to dive, x to change nozzles, and I don’t think there’s any way to control the water pressure though...but maybe if you do a quick press it will do a splash

This is a speedrun done with a cheat code, I only run through stages that are required to beat the game.
Downtime is completely cut out, such as Overworld movement.

In some levels you can talk to Pianta NPC that gives you the costume in a regular game.

No hub world and no cutscenes
It's cheated to removed the intro, cutscenes and text. It's a seperate category, it's not any %, it's fast any %.

Text is a lot faster, sometimes Japanese versions has more glitches and makes speedruns faster/easier

How in the hell do you do the shotgun sprays?!?!?
Not sure about gamecube but on the switch pro controller you press R (stay-in-place spray) then A (jump) really quickly. If you do it while walking he will do a backflip.
How is he going out of order? How is he loading so fast?
Its modded, part of the reason its called a "fast any%" not just "any%"
How do u get up to pianta so early? The rocket nozzle needs to be unlocked in delfino first
