At 80 years old, taking the time and talking to people that feel neglected is my joy in life. I work part time in a nursing home and learned a lot about what is important to residents. Giving of one self, has been rewarding to me. I have worked in the same place for over 50 years, part time. You have to find what works for you . I also treasure my alone time. Finding a balance in life is important.
Same age ,still working part-time too with elderly retired people. This is my sense of purpose. I'm able to help two young families who are struggling......

I will be 77 this Dec. Go to the gym 7 days a week, alternate weights with swimming doing 24 to 28 laps of the pool, in summer ride my bike a few times a week, still cut my grass, and garden work. My wife who turned 75 this year walks 4-5 kl 3 or 5 times a week outdoors or at a track in winter. Does water aerobics at the pool 2 times a week. My wife has always watched what we eat and there by have kept our weight down. I tell the Guys at the gym I still feel like 20. We are growing old together gracefully. 50 yrs together next year
I am just turning 74 years very soon. Everyday i make it a point to walk around 7 km which is 10000 steps in the park and talk to our friends there on various topics of interest. At home i walk the stairs atleast half a dozen times to meet my younger brothers who live up and down. Fivedays a week i used to engage myself in stock market and trading on line. Now and then i make it a point to meet our college friends in alumni club.
Thank you. What you said is what I am doing now. I am 80.I cook myself. My hobby is gardening. I planted mangoes trees Along my street. I planted Flowers trees and my small garden I planted many flowers trees and vegetables. I enjoy taking care of these. Shopping Vegetables and fruits market near by. I am kidney transplanted. I do not think any negative things.I understand everything is impartmenent. But when we are alive do goodthings and make happy what I can do.
Turning 86 in a couple weeks, have two cancers which I am managing and it seems to be working. No chemo or radiation, no sugar diet, very low carbs. Take no meds. Feel like I am many years younger and people are surprised when I tell them my age. Lost my wife almost 10 years ago. Remarried 7 years ago to a Christian lady, I have since become a Christian and am very active in the church. We have many friends, we go out to eat 3 or 4 times a week with friends. Play cards with friends a couple times a week. When not doing other things I play the stock market. I thank God for my good health, other than the cancer. Memory is getting weaker, but at 86 that is to be expected.
Wow.. that's cool, what type of your cancer and stage? Do you still drink milk and eggs? Do you have any protocols for your cancer such as Die Vegan or Keto.?
@@TheWitnessss No sugar, no starch, very low carbs, no sweet wine, do have a beer or whiskey each day, probably not a good thing to do but at my age I'll give myself some treats. Do some veggies, mostly carnivore. Maybe once a month I'll do a 60+ hour water fast. Daily I fast 16/8 TMAD. Do cheat once in a while, at my age I will do what I can for quality of life. As a Christian I am ready to go anytime, heaven is a beautiful place. The two cancers: advanced prostate, taking hormone shorts, working well, follicular lymphoma, doing nothing special for that, have a large bunch inside the skin at my neck, it is not growing, suspect my protocol is the reason.
Thank you. I'm 78 and am still very active. Thanks for your affirmation.
Remaining independent brings in together many of the listed signs, the work involved in looking after all aspects of a house and garden, cooking, shopping , cleaning , laundry, self care, finance management, etc all involve constant physical activity, a strong sense of purpose with mindfulness .and a feeling of proving oneself without having to rely on others or be subject to their ways and demands, peace of mind comes with this freedom. I am 93 and have put the above in practice for the last 12 years .

This is the best information I've ever recieved on the subject of aging and life expectancy. Now I take pride in my passion for reviving potted plants others have neglected. @@vanglez765 I’m an old retired scientist (octogenarian). A fellow scientist (David Sinclair) at Harvard discovered why we age and why we don’t have too while he was at MIT in early 1990s. Look him up on TH-cam. He tells you what his protocol is. I do the same. His dad is also a scientist and does the same. My 105yo father in law is still getting around on his own. Look into it. His research is now focusing on humans healthy longevity. Serendipitously, he discovered how to reverse the aging process. It’s working for me! My father in law stopped playing tennis at 92yo. He’s thinking he may start again!
Aged seventy-five I studied online with the OU and gained my BAhons followed by my Masters, in English literature and language. Although hard work, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I walked my two labradors at least two miles each day. However now aged eighty-six, and having lost my dogs, I am suffering from a dodgy knee ect. I am struggling to retain my purposeful life at the moment, sometimes giving in to depression at the loss of my beloved dogs. I am an avid reader and write, keep my sense of humour and eat well, so not too bad really. Still wearing the latest trainers and what my daughter refers to as my war paint (make up), still drive a car and drive everyone mad with my hypochondria! Haven't seen a doctor for forty years, because of fear.😮😮😅😅
I have been focusing on dying since age 64- losing a decade to actually living. Living in the moment, having a sense of humour and a purpose are some of the keys to a quality life. Thanks to others here, I am more optimistic about living longer with purpose and meaning.
Great video with very valuable information :-) I will be 74 soon so this was just the reminder I needed to realize that there are still many things I can choose to pursue and enjoy. Thank You!

But I can confirm that this current learning process is a great challenge and extremely good for reactivating the learning and memory skills , in a language that is not of European origin and which can be very difficult to learn and to be fluent in !

It's also about having no disabilities or injuries when you are younger. How can you stay active, physically in your seventies if you suffered from arthritis and can't mobile all that well.
I had arthritis in my hands, took medication for it for over 30 years, couldn’t button my pants without it. Went from Mediterranean diet suggested by my Dr., decided to go with a keto diet. 3 months later no longer take medication and no more pain. I’m not saying it will work for others, but it worked for me.

Psalms 90:10 [10]The days of our years are threescore years and ten; (70)and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years,(80) yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
A Good piece of advice to any age group why because even a few youngsters do live alone in their big houses. Living alone in a big house in a lonely place is also dangerous. At times ideas may not help do good in the hours of need without fellowmen. Probabilities hover over us to get well sooner while loneliness draws back for further deficiencies. Under the environment, old age life becomes lethargic & monotonous & never be understood by pedestrians or whatsoever whether or not the person is living-in.
Now with COVID on the scene and RSV respiratory disease in 2024 the aging process is taking a different turn and reducing life expectancy for many. Our DNA is also another factor. Eliminating stress in our lives and toxic people also contributes to a longer life in addition to all of the points mentioned in this video. It’s a work in progress but good advice. Thanks for posting. ❤🙏🌻
I'll be 94 in a few months. I cook, shop, bank, 3 bible studies, occasionally date, entertain social events in my home, still play classical guitar, learning Jewish languages, music, and customs via the U of Jerusalem.
At one point I had a discussion with my doctor about aging. His position was that most people, if they looked after themselves --- a proper diet and an active lifestyle --- can live a good productive life well into their 80s. How we do beyond 85, say, depends, to a large extent, on genetics. We've all heard stories about people who've smoked multiple packs of cigarettes since they were teenagers and lived to be a hundred. Well, that's largely a function of genetics.
A good view. Try to remain active as much as possible. I myself is above 70 years, I have not changed my routine and I continue to work in the same fashion as before. Alhamdo lillah I am fully fit. Keep your living simple
This video is so inspiring and informative! 🙌❤ My father is in his late 70s, and watching this made me reflect on his health and habits. Thank you for sharing such valuable insights-it’s a reminder to cherish every moment and take care of ourselves. 🌟🙏
Thank you soo much! What you've adviced, or expressed, or stressed on are exactly what I've been doing all along unconciously! Your confirmation encourages me and sure for others too!
I would caution, after working in a nursing home for nearly 20 years, when elders walk outdoors and are in excellent shape, then may trip over a bump, fall, break a hip and then it sometimes goes down from there. Walking indoors is much safer and the outdoors can be enjoyed in ways where accidents are not as easy to occur🙂

All these things are true, but in the end none of us know how we will age or what it will look like for each one of us. We are healthy until we’re not.
I noticed the aging process speeds up and slows down alternately. There is a strong genetic component to this.

Sorry to hear that 🥲❤️
Men are in demand- still not too late to find another companion even if you feel you won’t ever be able to find a soul mate.
No need for a woman in your life. Go out, meet people, find a hobby. Peace is within yourself ❣️
I’m same age as you Looking for a nice gentleman to be friend with. Someone to chat and wants a pleasant conversations

At home i walk the stairs atleast half a dozen times to meet my younger brothers who live up and down.
Fivedays a week i used to engage myself in stock market and trading on line.
Now and then i make it a point to meet our college friends in alumni club.
Thank you. What you said is what I am doing now.

Along my street. I planted

Thank You 🥰
Wow.. that's cool, what type of your cancer and stage? Do you still drink milk and eggs? Do you have any protocols for your cancer such as Die Vegan or Keto.?
Yes . I am interested to hear how u manage your cancer too.
@@TheWitnessss Forgot....take 3 packets of Fenbendazol per week, one each day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Thank you. I'm 78 and am still very active. Used to be a farmer, now part time in a supermarket, physically active including working out in gym, very active socially, some standup comedy, like to read, watch films but have too little time for that, have my own weekly radio show love jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Well done my Dear, I am also 79, and enjoying life to the full. x
I have to start exercising
This is the best information I've ever recieved on the subject of aging and life expectancy. Now I take pride in my passion for reviving potted plants others have neglected. Also I am rejuvenated after play sessions with my 2 young cats. Still love a walk to the grocery store to meet my own needs quite often. Love spending time with friends as we do crafts together. I will be 75 in January but still feel very much alive and in love with just being myself and for the most part quite contented.
Wonderful!

That's great!
From 68 to age 75 I swam a mile a day at my condo in Thailand. Then a slow moving problem, one doctors couldn't fight, weakened my legs to the point they could barely support me. Now nearly 83. Do what I can to enjoy life. So far so good.
I’m 72, do Pilates 2 times a week Yogalates once a week, drive 1-1/2 hrs away to look after my 20 mth old granddaughter 2 days a week. Catch up with friend for coffee 2 times a week. Mum lived till 94, lived alone, never drove a car walked 1/2 hr to shops or catch the bus, to do shopping & have coffee with friends, was in a couple of clubs. Died from Pancreatic Cancer in 5 weeks of finding out.
Last year Dad had a fall and broke his hip. Due his generally good health they did a hip replacement on his 91yo frame. Mum 84yo looks after him at home and drives him where he needs to go. Lots of friends and family and a huge library nearby keep them both on the go...
For Example, I’m 81, married 50 years, golf twice a week including once a week with my wife and sometimes with my adult grandsons. I maintain a large landscaped yard and fascinated by many different topics including ancient history and modern science Still, I sometimes think “is living longer a reward or a punishment”? I like to see the humor in everything even the aging process.

Why Arabic? Just curiousity🙂
@@eviwarawiri2903In fact I am married to a French woman of Tunisian origin , and so we have part of the family in Tunisia . I did a bit of classical Arabic about 25 years ago ,but since being retired I now have more time to study my wife’s dialect .It is based on the classical language , but with local variations , and of course in 25 years I have forgotten much of what I learnt in the past .
But I can confirm that this current learning process is a great challenge and extremely good for reactivating the learning and memory skills , in a language that is not of European origin and which can be very difficult to learn and to be fluent in !
I turned 80 last month. I've had horses for 45 years, now down to a beautiful Arabian mare and a 29 y/o Shetland pony and we're all happy and going good.

🥰
I’m only 66 but I agree with all of this and I think it can apply to any age.
Thanks 🥰

I would caution, after working in a nursing home for nearly 20 years, when elders walk outdoors and are in excellent shape, then may trip over a bump, fall, break a hip and then it sometimes goes down from there. Walking indoors is much safer and the outdoors can be enjoyed in ways where accidents are not as easy to occur🙂
