Sure, it may look simple from this video. It is actually pretty difficult to clear the area and get to the scythe. Recommended Soul level: 20+ I got through at Soul Level: 28
There is a bonfire behind an illusory wall down the hallway right next to the second bridge switch. Instead of going up the ladder just head straight and if you get to a wall roll into it of hit it. Very helpful bonfire.
At 3:11, that door is closed initially. To open it, go down the spiral staircase to the left a tiny bit. You will see a switch that will open that door.
Well the easiest thing to do is to do your best to avoid the enemies - do not engage. You will die, for certain, but in the end you will get the scythe. If dying bothers you then this is not your game.

Basically scythes are actually farming tools not weapons, it wasn't until modern times that people thought scythes were these incredible weapons that the grim reaper uses, if you showed up to a medieval battlefield with a scythe it didn't mean you were a bringer of destruction it meant you were some conscript that couldn't even make a spear so you grabbed the first thing you saw on the farm.
You don't need to lower the second bridge. You can jump down directly onto the broken stairs and from there onto the ledge. I managed to do it at soul level 16. Just make a suicide dash in the valley of drakes for the sword of artorias (pump faith to 14) then with this holy weapon and some skill you can clear the area till the first bridge in the catacombs. Praise the Sun!
@anoma1 LOL, i notice that to also, at at 3:25 , once you climb up the latter you will meet Patchs (from Demons Souls) there, and he will turn the leaver. However, He is a huge "A" Hole, so once you cross the bridge, he will turn it back around, so you will only get a few seconds to get it right! I Got the Scythe at SL 1 with my Pyro. There is NO LEVEL RESTRICTIONS to get this item, you only need good timing. FYI i died about 8 times LOL
If your wondering what went wrong with 3:11 just go back onto the bridge and slide off it and it'll take you to the ladder. Kinda weird no one did that

Did this right as i got to firelink died a few times ! But so worth it!
instead of activating the 3rd bridge just drop down from the 2nd near that ledge u need to be on and easily walk in the the hallway and get the scythe
There's a switch by the scythe. You will probably have to roll down off of a bridge to get to it.

Go down the stairs more, and then it's the first door on the right, there should be a lever, that's how you open the door.

You don't need to activate that second bridge. I rolled in panic, and ended up on that ledge.
If you turn it into the life hunt scythe you resemble death even better.
Roll of the first bridge and your on the bridge you have to roll off to get the sythe

Omfg. The dead angles on this thing are unbelievable. Almost 180 degrees. Damage is a bit lackluster, but it's not upgraded at all for now.
