  • I have been looking for a 4-channel RC parkflyer that is significantly larger than my ultra-micro and micro parkflyers, but still small enough that I do not scare people in our local park with its size and noise. My search ended when I heard about the "Fall into Savings" event at Horizon Hobby and found the FMS Ranger 850mm PNP (FMM123P) on sale for $97.49 (original price was reduced from $142.99). FMS is a very high quality RC brand, and their models usually do not go on sale at such large discounts. The sale was still on when I uploaded this video, but it will be ending in a few days on Sept. 9, 2020. Here is the link in case you are interested in purchasing this airplane; I ordered it from Hobby Zone:

In this video, I am doing the unboxing, assembly (which was very quick and easy) and the radio setup. I installed an old 6-channel Spektrum AR6110 DSM2 micro parkflyer receiver, so there is no stabilization or SAFE system on this airplane; it is all manual the way I like it. I bound it to my RadioMaster TX16S transmitter. After binding, I only had to reverse the aileron channel, and that was it. Here is the link to my video detailing the binding process of TX16S transmitter to DSM2 and DSMX receivers:

It is amazing! Not a beginner airplane though, it would be difficult for a newbie without someone experienced helping.

This is the best beginner plane I've seen because there's a gyro fitted now with a return to home. How wonderful is that. Still the landing gear is terrible. I might have to buy one just to do an upgrade on it and post my findings. Hopefully a sussesful vid lol. The thing needs bigger wheels in my opinion. Can't be a park flyer if the wheels can't land on park grass
