WLtoys XK A260 Rare Bear F8F 4CH Mini RC Airplane RTF - Part 1: A Tailgate Review

- I love RC ultra-micro parkflyers. They are so convenient; you can fly them almost anywhere, parks, baseball diamonds, parking lots, some of them even in your backyard. They are also relatively inexpensive and easy to store, thanks to their small sizes. The new ones made out of EPP or EPO foams are quite resilient and almost indestructible (unless you manage to fly them into a tree or under a moving car).
I am especially enamored of World War II mini warbirds, since they harken back to a very active time in aviation history. Previously, I have reviewed three 400mm wingspan ready-to-fly (RTF) mini warbirds, two from Eachine (F4U Corsair and T-28 Trojan) and another one from Volantex RC (P51D Mustang). When I saw this Rare Bear F8F (Rare Bear is a highly modified Grumman F8F Bearcat) with 380mm wingspan from WLtoys/XK, I had to add it to my RC Mini Warbirds fleet. I found it least expensive at AliExpress from the seller “RC Fun City Store” (this following link is NOT an affiliated link; I am just providing it for your reference):

The price was $59.99 with free shipping. There was a $1 store coupon at the time I placed the order, and with the tax I paid $62.68 shipped to my door (to United States). Considering that this is a ready-to-fly (RTF) package that comes with everything you need (except the four AA batteries for the transmitter), it is a great deal in the current economic climate and ongoing supply and logistics issues, IF it flies well.
In this first video, I am doing a “tailgate review” of this mini warbird. Is it going to live up to my expectations and perform as well as the previous mini warbirds from Eachine, Volantex RC, and WLtoys/XK? Well, you need to watch the video!

One of the small screws holds the battery compartment in. Easy to overlook. Btw, Temu has a limited stock of these at $52 and free shipping. I’ve had great luck with them.

I have the three XK planes. I was getting started in RC last year. I prefer the Eachine but I can fly these with the stabilizer.
Hi Gordon. So far, I have purchased and reviewed three Eachine/Volantex RC and three WLtoys/XK Mini Warbirds. They are good flyers, but I think this Rare Bear and the Eachine Mini Corsair are the best "Mini Warbird" flyers so far. Cheers!
@@PropsWheels I am USA born and I like to see the body types of the Mustang, Corsair, and P40. They are so distinctive you get to enjoy them for a couple seconds as they fly by.
Were you flying without gyro on at all..? Don't get why you could not trim much faster..seems strange...thanks
I watched another video . And you have to put in expert mode to use the trims.!
It is one heck of landing at first, it seems fly well, I want one!

Was it level when you fired it up?
How about next time you fly it closer to the camera, so it's more than just a small white dot, tonthe viewer.
the xka210 trojan is way better than this
