Thanks for the detailed setup for spektrum receivers. I have ELRS receivers (RM ER6 and HM EPW6), these are AETR just like the Reflex V2. Connection is more straightforward, pins 1>1, 2>2, ...5>5. I also use the same ELRS bind phrase on my transmitter and receivers so binding occurs as soon as I power up (no bind plugs). I only had to revers the Rudder channel on the xmtr (RM TX16s). Your videos are very helpful and well presented. Thank you.
I would love the jet. I have a eternal passion for flying. Due to my service in the military and serving two tours I was hit by an I.E.D in Iraq. I'm disabled now I this is the closest I get to flying. Thank you
Question, I want to use 2 channels for ailerons as I need to programme a mix to use flaps as flaperons as the model has a one piece trailing edge on each wing same as F16. The reflex as just one aileron port so how do I use the reflex in this example ? Thanks for your help.
Good video, This is a subject that a I have a lot on new and seasoned pilots ask me at the field. Where are you located at? Will you be at the South Eastern Model show in Perry Ga March 1st & 2nd? If you make it to the show, bring your cameras. The show will require its own video. There is also a night fly on Friday night.
Awesome video....and I guess the DXs is similar in features....and why did Spektrum go wonky with the labeling for reciever outputs...every other system used the standard A..E..T..R.. order...oh well gotta be different i guess...keep then coming...👍
Run 1 aileron through the stab and the other direct from your receiver. You only have the benefit of 1 side being stabilized but it generally works quite well.
Great video!! I have wondered how to set this up and how it works. I am looking to get one for a plane I am going to 3d print and want to try something other than SAFE. I am hoping your next video will be a flight test showing how well it all works in the air 😁
I have a question and it has nothing to do with the reflex but look. I got my as3x/safe setup on a 3 switch. So I can flip the switch to the off position where its clean but my planes still will not let me do a full loop. I like my as3x cause it helps with take off from torque roll. Is there anyway in can have my as3x and full acrobatics. These are spectrum recievers by the way. And help would be greatly appreciated
If you can't loop then your flying in safe. The 637 receiver you have to go in the forward programming menu and tell the receiver what switch and what chanell you will use to turn off the safe
For the Ailerons at least I have been informed by folks that have some experience, it is possible to only run 1 aileron through the stabilizer and run the other direct from the receiver as normal. The amount of stabilization you will have will be halved but it will work if you must run separate ailerons because you want to set up flapperons or crow braking. Some stabilizers (eg HobbyEagle A3 Super 4) DO allow you to feed 2 separate ailerons (and Elevators) directly through the Stab unit thus having full stabilization and flapperons/crow braking.
P.s. my eflite mustang with the 637t reciever, I only have as3x activated and it still won't let me do a loop. And I have an older safe reciever in my fms 1400mm warhawk safe and as3x nut it will not let me loop
When gyro is correcting in the wrong direction, how do you fix that? UPDATE: Go into the folder where the software was extracted and edit the param.dll file with notepad or whatever text editor you desire. In that file are all the parameters for each FMS model out there. Find the section for your model and edit the GyroRevAil=0, GyroRevEle=0, GyroRevRud=0 as needed. To reverse the gyro direction, set the appropriate parameter to a 1 to reverse it. Save the file, and relaunch the executable program. That loads the new dll file into memory. With the reflex connected via USB port only (no power from your normal battery), it should have a connected status. Double click the model you are working with, and press OK to write the new data to the connected reflex. Now go back and test all the gyro directions to make sure they are correct. It's kind of a pain with the V2, because it has to be removed from the plane to access the USB port and then re-mounted to do the testing again. The newer version makes this a whole lot easier to do without removing it but this is how to do it on the V2.
So is the reflex a reciever or not? I'm confused. I want to buy an inexpensive transmitter and reciever but I'm confused because I want to get an FMS 1700mm pa-18 Cub but i dont want to spend a fortune on the radios.
I recommend getting a fly sky transmitter with 10 channels and getting a flysky receiver with 10 or 6 channels. The reflex connects to the servos and then other wires connect it to your receiver.
You never got to explaining how the Sbus connectivity works. That is what I came to see. I have the Reflex connected to a Futaba receiver on the sbus connector. all flight controls work, but I do not know how to change flight modes.
See not so easy now is it bad things can happen when proper precautions are not taken before hand always take your prop off just a freindly reminder folks happy flying
Enjoying videos, I am getting back into rc airplanes after about 12 years. Getting some good tips and much needed info on the new technology. Thanks
Good info on this site. Real talk.Real people.
Only man I've found so far to explain it this indepth
I just purchased FMS P-39 with Reflex. Thank you for this setup tutorial.
thank you for this video, i just bought a reflex , and you made it easy to install,

Very useful video Sean, we’ll explained
Sean, Thank you for your service.
Thanks for the valuable information.
Question what if your sbus imput cable isn' plugged to receiver, does that kill reflex?
Very much helpful. Thanks

Very cool
Another great video!
What if your ailerons are on separate channels for flaperons? Great video thanks

Do I need to down load and update the reflex receiver if I buy for a FMS 980 size P-47 I have older plane?
I have a question and it has nothing to do with the reflex but look. I got my as3x/safe setup on a 3 switch. 👍 just wondered? where the ailerons reversed too ??? have a good one...
I dont know I was just repairing that plane for a friend. It is possible they weren't reversed . That my transmitter was reversed
Thanks for the video
What if you have 2 aileron and 2 elevators but don’t what to use a Y harness?

Seems like you are not disabling the safe select.
Hey bro, you left that one important step where do you connect the ESC?
It's connected to the reflex
Love your video and I would like to have a jet
That's a nice jet

very helpful video. Big Thanks!!!
Awesome! Thanks dude!
Where do you plug in the flaps?
There are no flaps unless you add them yourself
The flaps go directly to the receiver in the channel you’ve designated on your radio
Gyro doesn’t need to handle flaps. Only needs to handle the four control surfaces of the plane: aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle.
Where do you plug in the esc connector wire
I want to know that also he never gives that info
why not buy a as631 receiver w safe and bind it to the plane
So is the reflex a reciever or not? I'm confused. I want to buy an inexpensive transmitter and reciever but I'm confused because I want to get an FMS 1700mm pa-18 Cub but i dont want to spend a fortune on the radios.

Flysky fi-6x is a good choice for transmitter
No it's a flight controller. U have to get a separate receiver compatible with your transmitter
how invert gyro correction magne toi

Im trying to set up this reflex with a ar620 and a nx10 , ive folllowed instructions gettin noware :(
Hooked mine up with an old dx7s and a 620. Plugged it in just like he did. Ran reflex mode change to channel 5 and aux2 rotory switch
wish you would show wing assembly and ailerons servo connection
I'll do that for you this weekend
Thanks that helped
By the way wanted pnp , use tactic equipment
