XM can eat pile of horse. Performance SUVs are not stupid like everyone says. The RSQ8 isn't that bad like everyone mentions it. You can always buy the RS6 Avant, which is also a cool car but ain't no way that Sedans or Coupes are superior (which are) and SUVs should be crushed immediately. There are some good SUVs, but people are diehard haters, so all of them are bad. EVEN the Q7 V12 TDI and Touareg V10 TDI.
Performance wagons are the true SUVs. Sportier and more utilitarian. "But it looks like a hearse!" Really, are you gonna give up actual practicality for the appearance of practicality?
@@edugj23 honestly I haven’t met a single enthusiast who holds a disliking towards wagons, it’s just the general American public, who haven’t exactly been known to be the smartest people, is convinced that big car=safer so therefore, wagons are super unsafe when the opposite is true
Except those, if chosen correctly, will at least hold if not greatly appreciate in value, and they actually look good my assumption is that the XM will probably do none of those things
Trackhawk and hellcat Durango are the exception to me, other than that wagons should be the priority as they can haul equal if not more stuff, look better and driver better and get better gas mileage. Wagons need to be popular again
Exactly if it’s really unique and crazy, then I think it’s ok, stuff like the OG SRT8 Grand Cherokee, the Typhoon, and more are just too cool to not want Besides that, they are just blatant cash grabs and do everything awfully
The making more money part is relevant, because automakers are pushing bigger, more profitable crossovers towards every market, including Europe! They've pushed it so hard that in some places (such as the South American market I'm used to), they believe that _anything_ needs to be an SUV to sell well. Take an entry-level compact hatchback, raise the suspension a bit, slap some plastic trim around the body, and congrats! You have a "SUV" that will be competitive on the dealer floor. All these new crossovers should actually be called "fatbacks". Why? Lower the suspension, and you'll notice they have the proportions of the very same midsize hatchbacks killed off by this trend... I didn't even mention that many models _aren't_ actually higher, they just look higher.
The worst part about the XM is that BMW has the audacity to call it their "flagship m car". And how? It literally lost a drag race to a M2 which you can get for $60k, bullshit
The idea that an SUV could ever be considered a flagship performance car for ANY brand is ridiculous, but one that holds as much prestige and history as M, that was NOT on my 2023 Bingo card and is honestly beyond upsetting. Its an overpriced, awful SUV with an engine swap, not some high performance track monster, I REFUSE to accept that its the flagship vehicle
The only thing i like about it is the interior that's it. And the design isn't super duper bad. But i totally understand why people hate it. Other than that, Suvs and pickups should be banned or atleast have alot of regulations put on them. Which would eventually lead to the downfall of the performance suvs/trucks and generally impractical suvs/trucks in general. The compacts and stationwagons needs to make a damn comeback into the US. because that would lead to less deadly accidents less mortality rates and less carbon emissions. However i doubt it will happen but hopefully it will since the US is just repeating the damn oil crisis of 73' all over again. Besides cafe regulations are VERY Important the only reason why automakers aren't doing any wagons or mostly sedans in the US (mainly the american auto manufacturers). Is because of the Light truck loophole which should be sealed shut.

It infuriates me, not only because they don't need it, but because it gives people like my dad, who actually needs his truck for towing and for work, a bad rap. I have a Jeep XJ, its literally the same size as a Toyota Camry, and I can have a passenger, and haul a snowblower, a full load of firewood, and STILL have space for more stuff, because even tho its considered an SUV, it has Wagon-like proportions. It does all the same stuff a truck can do, but its smaller, better for the environment, and is safer in an accident than even a modern light-duty pickup truck. There are exceptions, like I said before with my dad if you need to genuinely tow stuff or haul stuff around in your bed like mulch or gravel, then yeah you are gonna need a truck. But these morons who buy 100k+ trucks so that they can cosplay as a working class person is ridiculous.
