As an owner of a previous FWD RX, I'd highly recommend getting the more powerful AWD/4WD. Sure, it's incredibly smooth and comfortable but it really struggles up hills and overtaking. Definitely think with a car this heavy, the AWD set up is the way to go. Now my question for Tom: Current gen RX vs Next gen NX - what's your pick?
Fantastic, relevant review. Im glad you honest enough to point out the value and day to day enjoy versus European made lemons. I see so many 20+ year old lexus around in perfect condition.
Looks like a pointy egg with portholes. The symmetry is all over the shop. 1:30 What's with the odd beltline that goes nowhere and bonnet overbite at the windscreen. Good ground clearance for going off road tho. What's it like in low range for rock crawling?
The recent fashion of ultra low profile, large wheels on Luxury 4WD may be desirable when your teenage son flies down to Bobbin Head as fast as he dares go, but for his parents at their stage of life nice 18” wheel are SO much more easy on their bodies than their high pain threshold, stick insect offsprings. I wish the 18” wheels were available throughout the range, as my sublimes LS430 has. Just perfect. Oh, another excellent presentation, Tom. Thankyou.
In South Africa, the models get a full size spare wheel that does cut quite a bit into the boot space and make the usable space less than an equivalent Q5/X3.
Another great review Tom, and I agree with you in that you should be able to get heated and cooled seates with the 18 inch wheels. Can you tell me if the Lexus has heads up display for ones speed? I don't like the shape of the rear either, I prefer the shape of the NX.
Tom, help. I know this is comparing apples and oranges. I have exactly this RX300. It's a comfortable, reliable vehicle but coming from a 2011 450h, I prefer an EV and have been eyeing the iX3. iX3 handles better. Now to my question: is the iX3 a reliability concern? And is the iX3 as plush a ride? Thanks
I would get the RX350. Lovely engine, and even on the 20’s still comfortable. Another bug upside is the reliability, they are very solid trouble free vehicles. Same goes to my IS300h, no problems at all. Is Australia getting the IS500?
I've been watching so, so many SUV reviews of late, both mainstream and luxury yet still keep coming back to the Kia Sorento GT-Line in AWD turbo diesel spec. For the money they're asking I haven't found better.
@@chasingcars yet it doesn’t seem to hinder sales of these prestige brands. Unless they absolutely have to (and are dragged by the hair, kicking and screaming), why would they?
Mate, pls no offence, but can you show more of the car than you sitting and talking about it. I’m looking more at your face than the car itself. You didn’t even show the speedo sitting in the car- it’s ridiculous.
Whilst I have nothing against Tom’s face, seeing more of the car is a good suggestion! There’s an American channel where the guy does Point of View camera reviews of the cars, so it looks like you’re driving it. Works really well. Combining a mixture of that with Tom’s presenting style could be a winning combo.
What you buy if your keen on a uber up market vehicle that will last more than 8 years without costing you a shitload ... definitely not your Euro rubbish.
Reupload to correct one small piece of data. To those who caught the video briefly yesterday - thanks for watching again team! -Tom
Whats jacket brand you wear btw?
I have an 03 Rx300 and its so quiet and smooth, one day I thought it had shutdown on the highway. Can only imaging how good this is.
Tom's always well articulated in his videos, well done!

Hey Tom, another topline review. I know you listen ……….no dunny in the background. Looking forward to the next review
EXCELLENT. - As ALWAYS.
10/10. Again!!!
Thank You, REALLY ENJOY your reviews.
Great review as always. Such a lovely car. Most people are gonna be just fine with 2WD, 4-cyl turbo, and 18-inch.
Another awesome review Tom. Keep them coming. Eagerly looking forward to your review of the next generation NX.

Great review Tom, just wish the RX300 can be optioned with AWD. Agree with your comment regarding comfort being number one in this segment.
Lexus is the king when it comes to reliability.Another Great review Tom and chasing cars team.Keep up the good work, loving it😍🙂

A good addition to your reviews would whether the cargo blind is able to be stored under the boot floor when removed.
Cant wait for the update next year
Is the Carplay an extra or is it standard? Thanks.

I wish this engine transmission combination was available in the Rav 4
Boot specs are wrong. From Lexus' website.
453 / 924 Litre Cargo Storage (Rear Seats Up / Rear Seats Down)
still on the old platform?
Tom good review. I noticed that you never compared this to a GV 70, is there reason for this?
We are ripped off. In usa rx350 AWD V6 costs from $46320.
Mega 12 incher!!! Of course, you mean the touchscreen. Excellent work as always, Tom
I noticed a smirk

I thought the iX3 rode very comfortably.
@@chasingcars Thank you very much.
Rx 300 side remote glase Steve

No we are not l, they engineered for LHD only
Lexus doesnt sell the IS anymore. Hopefully the next generation will come to Australia...assuming there is a next generation.
I enjoyed watching the Video Review 😄. A popular Hybrid In the UK as well
I fuking love Tum Baykuh. Quality video everytime
Love you too
The tyres look skinny from the front and back
Rx 300 side glass ride oup an down

Amusing that Toyota’s luxury brand gets a 4 year warranty, whilst their ‘downmarket’ mainstream brand gets 5…
Much like Audi and Volkswagen (except Audi is worse - with 3 years)

my grandfather's car. Very old style.
I agree.
A friend of mine has one of these but I told him it was so ugly but at least you don’t have to look at it when driving.
The styling is definitely an acquired taste. If it looked like a scaled up version of the new NX, it would be alright.
I don't know why everyone is scrambling for the "FIRST" comment
Clout, baby!

Nice interior ugly front end .
I’d buy one but never with that grille.
