    I just bought a 2021 RX 350 F Sport. Watching this and other videos prompted me to visit my local Lexus dealership to close the deal.

    Sure it's a bit boring but it's a Lexus! It's exactly what buyers are looking for. What's your thoughts on the RX 350?

      @oot007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      what makes the german suv any more exciting? Compared to the RX they look dull and boring by comparison with inferior build quality, finish, reliability and durability.

      @@oot007 isn’t it more exciting if you try to start it the next day and it won’t or it flashes a check engine light? 😂

      @@JimmyMak a lot of car reviewers say Lexus is boring or that its just a overpriced Toyota simply because of the tall poppy syndrome as Toyota+Lexus is so successful. If Lexus is just a Toyota then using the same logic Lamborghini and Bugatti Veyron is just a VW. My brother owns a Porsche Macan and I can tell you the handling difference between that compared to a Lexus/Toyota SUV at the legal speed limit (and within 30% ABOVE the limit) is infinitesimal. The fact is Toyota let alone Lexus builds to a higher quality standard than much vaunted German cars priced much higher. If you were aware of the background of the BMW Z4/Toyota Supra collaboration you'll know that during development Toyota returned nuts and bolts back to BMW because they failed Toyota's quality control checks. A friendly tip - if you want to differentiate between yourself and the plethora of car reviewers out there then you if you make statements like "its boring" you need to back it up with quantifiable facts rather than jump on the bandwagon like other car reviewers none of whom have ever explained why Lexus is measurably boring and other brands are measurably so exciting.

      @@oot007 thanks for the tip. If you watched the review you would have seen my actual thoughts.
      Yea it’s a bit boring to drive because it’s numb. But that doesn’t mean the handling is any worse than its German rivals.
      My above comment was a joke which clearly didn’t convey. Thanks for your comments!

    • @oot007
      @oot007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JimmyMak I understood your joke perfectly as it's the same response I've been telling fanboys of German cars for years. When I drove the Macan I was underwhelmed as I was expecting earth shattering driver involvement and excitement compared to Lexus/Toyota because car reviewers have raved on about Porsche handling for decades. It took far more effort to drive the Macan compared to a much larger Toyota Kluger (Highlander) because the steering is far heavier weighted and the interior controls and layout are overly complex. In the Macan you are stupidly forced to accelerate downhill otherwise the car will slow down. There is probably some obscure setting to override that but I can't be bothered to read endless pages of the car manual to figure that out.
      The irony is my brother paid almost triple the price for his Macan compared to his Toyota SUV to get a car this is less reliable, smaller, far more expensive to maintain and the only way to notice any benefit in handling and grip is is to drive at speeds far above the speed limit.

    I think it would be great for our last car. We are 75 and need safety. What’s the difference in the made in Japan and made in Canada? I have been searching a lot and see this. Also do you have advice on getting a better buy if we bought a certified Lexus RX 350 AWD for 2020. I have noticed many features come with the 2020. I live in Ames, Iowa. So far have not found the one I like or the packages wanted. Would it be bad to buy from someplace else and have it shipped directly to us or to a dealer in Des Moines...just an example. With the pandemic still with us, we don’t like to travel much. But every vehicle we now have is old. Grandchildren live in Minneapolis, 4 hour drive. That’s the reason for a safer car to get to see them a little while longer. BTW, I hate that dark brown they use for the interior! I’m hoping that the sun roof is not standard. I do not like them at all. The one you are showing has two. The RX version with just one, at least you can close. Thanks for your report. Written Feb. 8, 2021

      Hi Sue, thanks for your comment! To be honest I’m not too sure about the the differences on where the vehicle is made. I’m sure the quality control in Canada is as good as Japan when it comes to Lexus. As for purchasing the vehicle, here in Canada most dealers will assist and find the one you’re looking for and have it shipped in if a brand new one is available. A used or slightly used model would be a bit different but there are brokerage companies that may assist with this.
      Sorry I’m unable to assist much with your search, thank you for watching!
