Stepping back a bit, it’s easy to forget how many plat fighters are out there with their own original characters and mechanics. Honestly would be cool to see games like Rivals or Stardust Valkyries in Evo or something close to it.
owner of studio bidou and main dev for stickfigurez here! crazy that people are actually finding our little game despite no advertising yet. thanks for the kind words!
funfact about stickFigurez: all of the characters are already establish stickfigure character, all from this animation competition called RHG and Dojo duels.
I would definitely be down to watch a "Plat Fighter Evo", though I think NASB2 would definitely deserve a spot. Also, meme pick, but in my ideal Plat Fighter Evo, there's a tournament for The Outfoxies. The very first Platform Fighter.
I haven’t played a lot of these, but I will say that Slap City is one of the smoothest games I’ve ever played. The visuals are very classic, the humor is good, the character designs are easy to get into yet deep, and it’s all at the perfect speed.
Curious to see where Touhou FT goes. The Touhou characters have interesting ideas for movesets (especially if you seen the fighting games for them). CMC+ has a ton of Touhou characters and they're the most interesting and fun characters to play as in the entire roster imo. You can play them more defensive/zoning focused or more offensive/combo oriented, which makes them very versatile and dynamic. Hopefully Touhou FT delivers.
Flash Party hurts me cuz, it could of have been so much greater if they did the monetization changes before the "big release" on steam. The game is at least more alive than other plataform fighters, and I hope that someday it can shine. But I hope that the f2p market starts to understand that you can't have Brawl Stars monetization levels without being Supercell... and even them have toned it down quite a bit. Panzer on the other hand, reminds me of Smash Legends. It suffers from the same aspect of Flash Party, but at least I really love the character design and concepts. I hope someday it catches up if they tone down the monetization.
I talk about it in the end. But heres some food for thought. The first part is "representing platform fighters" every single time we do THE NEXT smash bros... it seems like people care for it being new rather than... the game. People liked smash 4 more than brawl and ultimate more than smash 4 simply cause it looks better. So. Especially with smash 6 probably Gonna he release soon... id rather have melee at this point
@@SoftwareNeos I mean the same is true of regular evo. The new game in a series is always chosen over the old. Maybe both are allowed but just moving to the next game isn't unique to Smash.
@@SoftwareNeos smash ultimate has all the returning characters it more than likely wont have the same characters so it would stand as more stand out smash title like melee
NASB 2 is crack. I can't believe how slept on that game is. NASB 3 is coming for sure though you're right. You can tell in which areas they held back their sauce. Some of the supers are underbaked, could use a little more polish etc. Hoping beyond hope people pick this game up at least a LITTLE before NASB 3. I mean it's just straight up a much better online experience than Ultimate. All it needs is a bigger playerbase and it would be SO goated. NASB 2 is a MIRACLE!
But why can't we just, y'know, update NASB 2? I am definitely not buying another NASB from these guys. Imo they have yet to deliver a full, cohesive and enjoyable project. Frankly, I do not have faith in the dev team. Edit: I have bought both NASB 1 AND 2, both regrettable purchases, and I have ~100 hours in both.
@@TheResidence.mp4 OK champ, if you don't think NASB 2 is enjoyable then go play Multiversus lol. Yeah it's not up to the unbelievably high standard of smash bros, but NASB 2 is about as good as non smash platform fighters have ever gotten. I like the concepts when I see it but it's hard to follow. I feel like a strength of platform fighters is that they are pretty easy to understand as a spectator. That might just be years of experience though.
Honestly wouldn't be a problem if the characters weren't as expensive as they are. No other game gives away their DLC for local play. It's just the cost of the base roster is factored in to the cost of the price you pay for the base game. But getting every character in Multiversus is like $200 or something? Idk, I'm not gonna look up what it specifically costs, but it's something ridiculous, and a definite barrier to any local event.
I mean not all characters are unlocked by default in ultimate or melee but people still managed its really the same for mvs. I play mvs and i have all characters unlocked if you are going to a tournament you often bring a setup a lot of the time you get a discount for bringing a setup so it shouldnt be that hard to fill up enough mvs setups
@@battmall9785 you got the characters in the beta right? its like $300+ to get all of them now and its not as simpla as grind them out, you get limited character currency per season, if your playing smash it takes like an afternoon to unlock the entire cast, and dlc is significantly less expensive
@@battmall9785 you got the characters in the beta right? its like $300+ to unlock them now, and unlike smash you cant just grind for a afternoon to unlock them, they only give you limited character currency per season, smash has dlc, but its significantly cheaper and a large portion of smash players just get all the dlc. i doubt most (new) multiverse players will be excited to pay almost enough money to buy a new console just for multiversus
Great to see slap city get some love. I think slap city died because the characters where to obscure for anyone to know about except for ludosity fans. Also the lack of voice acting was probably a big part. They could have made it so that Asha could have laughed like he did during the boss fights but the game feels really silent compared to melee.
You should really look into the source of all the characters in Stickfigurez. Some of the hypest stickfigure animations ever were made with those characters. The animators who created those characters have gone on to work professionally for stuff like anime and promo videos.
Whatever your opinions you can't put away SSBU because it'd repeat itself with melee, in that case put away melee, I know the mechanics are more interesting in melee and ultimate's meta is shit currently but you can't just refuse to put the game with the biggest competitive scene AND casual scene, that'd be like not putting SF at the "true" EVO. I know SSBU is already in the "true" EVO but the problem is not that SSBU has already got recognition, the problem is that without SSBU in, the others won't get enough recognition for a lack of audience, and especially outside of the US where nothing exists apart from SSBU (and maybe multiversus and Rivals 2 if they get popular enough, but with its business model I assume multiversus might die a little too quickly so the only hope is Rivals 2). To conclude, even if multiversus has Shaggy and Batman it'll never be as appealling to casuals as SSBU, which have Mario and Pikatchu (the most recognisable characters for gamers as that's the target audience, but also to non gamers) and is on the Switch, the holy temple of casual games.
I was with ya until "a lack of audience." We already know that smash fans don't wanna play othervplatform fighters. So to say we need them in order to get eyea kinda defeats the purpose. It honestly goes better to use melee than smash ultimate or even smash 6 if it comes. Cause if it happens it would at least be the start of plat fighters proving themselves. Street fighter was never a problem cause trad fighting game players already like other fighting games. Smash players do not. Would it be better for views? Sure. But it also pr0ves that plat fighters cant leave smashs shadow. And thats bad
@@SoftwareNeos SSBU players have been wanting to get away from Nintendo for a while, R2's marketing during the kickstarter attracted some SSBU players already for example (through giving keys to SSBU pros for example, like Glutonny in Europe), there is also the french streamer Etoiles, who is both a SSBU and multigaming streamer, and managed to interest quite a few people in playing multiversus (even though the game is dogshit to watch). Also SSBU players do hold on SSBU a bit but there's the fact that their biggest tournaments either put smash in the center with maybe a few other platfighters (but as the main show is smash they might not watch the other games, like in Genesis) or they put it along traditionnal fighters (which they don't really want to play). In an EVO like tournament the focus would be shifted from smash alone or trad fighters to plat fighters, which might change their point of vue on the games presented, and evacuate the idea that they're smash clones. Also I can quite see interviews of smash pros in this tournament and you ask them which of the other plat fighters they enjoy the most, using them to get people's attention then putting the light on the other games.
