    I swear riku is something more than the game let's on it even hints towards that. The lucky 7 looks like a monado, is unparalleled like one has story significance like one and they're saying riku just happened to have it in the equivalent of an attic? Then there's an interaction between him and Melia that makes me question him more. The only current theory I have on him is that he's just alvis in disguise or something.

    These games go less and less into the swords themselves. We knew extensively about the Monado, because that's all characters talked about half the time. In 2, they did talk about the Aegis, but it was about Pyra/Mythra, not much about the Sword outside of the normal Blade rules and that they're stronger when Driver and Blade fight together. This game we get this scene explaining Lucky Seven and a little about its origin near the end of the game
    Spoilers for the end of the game.
    Why does it glow and react intensly around Moebius? How does N have a Dark version? It was dark before he turned evil. What's the deal with it resonating with the Off-Seer Tune to break Consul Y's control when he brought back Miyabi? How do more of its space-time crazy powers work? Does it control the ether like the Monado? I have so many questions, and I've beaten the game three times now!

    • @XenobladeNerd
      @XenobladeNerd ปีที่แล้ว +3

      if i had to guess for some of that, based off of just finishing the game recently.
      It likely glows or does that funky stuff in the presence of moebius because of the origin metal and moebius’ connection to origin. I mean really a lot of it connects to that.
      Spoilers obvi
      Pretty much from the looks of it, and i guess what we can infer now from seeing the future redeemed stuff we have. Lucky Seven is essentially like a monado/aegis because it’s connected to origin, like how Pyra Mythras blades are special cause they’re connected to a world spawning computer, and the monado as creations of gods made by like the trinity shit and whatnot. Because it’s made out of the seven different types of Origin Metal, it’s essentially a sword made out of the very thing that created Aionios, origin.
      Likely a reason for a lot of the funky stuff is cause of that. Moebius Z in particular but moebius as a whole is largely just a manifestation of the wishes and memories of those within Origin, people who fear change death loss and impermanence. Moebius is created through origin, giving essentially a body or form to the collective desires of mankind, the same way that there’s Moebius even in our six. Because the sword is essentially an extension of origin, and also technically created Moebius by that connection, then the sword would react to them, not sure for what reason in specific but that’s likely why. It probably also is incredibly strong and can effectively control ether because it’s basically a sword made out of god, or origin, the thing that’s created Aionios. It effectively can cut through anything or even obliterate the world, because it can cleave through everything it’s created, everything is lesser than it. It’s like making a sword out of jesus that cuts people up like bread. Ok well not at all but you get my drift.
      It probably also resonated with the Miyabi stuff considering the significance of the off seeing tune sort of conveying the wishes and thoughts of the seer unto the dead, that if moebius exists because of fear of death, and loss. the off seeing tune which in many ways is a celebration of life and acceptance of death loss and change, combining that with the swords connection to mobius likely can fuck with their powers. Besides all the life that makes a moebius real is basically the congealed life force of other dead people, likely the off seeing tune aside from passing them on when they die frees basically everyone including the moebius. So perhaps cause it’s essentially the opposite of Moebius as the melody sorta represents acceptance, it likely mucks about with their power in that way, also cause Miyabi was an off seer and used the melody (or a different version of it) to control them through Y, so likely playing the melody then amped by the sword did that, probably a combo of things
      As for the colour, aside from the obvious protagonist red sword i think somebody mentioned he painted it. but also likely caue of the way blades work it does seem like their shape is fluid to the desires of the user, they probably only wield one type of blade cause they’re good with it and likely get stuck with it, ouroborous can use multiple blades based off of connections to people but it does seem that people can customize their blade, both in that if the painting thing is true he could do that either with adding onto it, or just choosing it’s form. But also that modifications to the blade can be kept and stored with it (like when you enhance them with origin metal) Noah always i guess has been a sword user, but even then the blade can take the form the user wants and wishes, he made it a sheath so that way he could use the sword bluntly essentially. It also probably explains kinda why it works as a gauntlet anyways, because what’s a glove but a sheath for the hand/arm. But likely he just wanted it to be red. perhaps N just didn’t change the way his sword looked and so it took the by default darker scheme of Keves. while he lived in the city i could assume he probably did come from Keves as well originally. hence his blade taking on the darker appearance, cause while the kevesi and agnians with the power frame and blade shit respectively probably effects their weapons in some way, likely e reason why all their weapons follow a generic colour scheme is cause it’s sorta baked into them as their allegiance, being a kevesi or agnian soldier was all they were raised to know, so it’s reflected by their weapons appearing kevesi or agnian (besides even in xeno 2 while common blades has a uniform appearance it stands to reason that presumably a blade and thus the weapon could take any form or shape/colour etc. The citizens of the city likely have their bronze orange colour as a means to distinguish themselves and to show a separation from the other sides. Ns blade likely looks that way due to his moebius allegiance, taking on the appearance, as well as why it gets purple instead of blue green or orange like the other factions blades, likely also cause he’s using his moebius energy whatever. and i assume when noah took Lucky Seven as his weapon, it essentially became his blade, meaning he was able to recall it especially with how the rules of the world work, plus lucky seven is a creation of origin and also is origin so it likely can play more loose with the rules. but Ns blade likely looked that way as it reflected N specifically

      @XenobladeNerd wow, goodness, thanks for the long and detailed explanation 😊 I still am confused on a few things, like how there are 2 Lucky Sevens, despite only one being made. What you explained does settle a lot of my questions, but it would certainly have been better if the game itself explained at least some of it instead of leaving it up to player speculation and theories to figure it out themselves. Like I said, Xenoblade is less and less about the swords as the series goes on. Don't get me wrong, I do still love the game, hence playing it 3 times over, but I do wish it explained a bit more so I could understand what was going on. But either way, I appreciate your attempt at explaining it all!

    That, and I just really like watching the major power flex over Garvel because I think it's absolutely hilarious to see him be bested so totally by Noah.

    • @OutsiderAus10
      @OutsiderAus10 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      What's even more interesting is how gentle he is too. He never once even tried to hurt Garvel. He doesn't call his blade because he's afraid of hurting people. He doesn't even unsheath Lucky 7 until years later to destroy the flame clock, and that's it. Most people would have that level of raw talent & skill go to their head and give them a power trip, but Noah on the other hand is afraid of his own power (and for good reason, because we see what it could be in the form of N). It says a lot about his character really. I'd say he'd have been able to mop the floor with most early game enemies if he hadn't been holding back due to that big heart of his.

    One of the things I like in that scene with Riku and Noah is how it hints at this Noah's nature. Not gonna spoil too much, but him and one other character are making me think of the Muramasa and Masamune. One was a powerful sword that cut recklessly, while the other was a more pacifist blade that did not cut needlessly.
    More than that, the fact Noah holds back was good for him as it hints he already is strong, he just fears how that power will affect others. But Riku does have it right that holding back too much risks hurting those close to you, like Eunie and Lanz. And this even is demonstrated in later parts when Noah keeps holding back against certain foes.
    Quite brilliant, it is.

    So for the people still confused about its relationship with the DLC:
    The moment Mathew clashed with N's sword of the end, it caused a phenomena in Origin that caused Noah and Mio being separated from N and M. Noah inherited Mathew's weapon due to the clash, his fist weapons. You can see it when Noah unsheathes Lucky Seven. The reason it has a sword form is mainly because of Noah not really being a punchy guy and it is more beneficial for him that it stays as a sheared sword,.

    N's black sword

      @Justic_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know if the story itself seems rushed, the narration itself is fine, it's really just that they left a lot of things open that really probably should've been explained in more detail, but again, I don't think that means the story itself feels rushed. Still, definitely somewhat disappointing considering the game has appearently been in its concept-phase since before they even released 2.
      Although for the blade he draws as a Ouroboros, considering Riku explicitly reminds Noah that "Lucky Seven will let itself be unsheathed when Noah truly needs it" in the cutscene right before he learns to do this, it's pretty clear imo that it's supposed to be the same Lucky Seven, just drawn through the Ouroboros-power (which doesn't seem too impossible considering their blades become part of the Ouroboros, so if Noahs sheath becomes the cape-sword in his Ouroboros-form, then I guess the Ouroboros itself has become the sheath for Lucky Seven?)
