Well, they did merge into one being a few times by the time of those later cutscenes, so that makes sense.

Mio affected by the high pitched sound Lucky Seven emits as it was sensing a Mobius closing in, that's such a nice detail.
The dynamic of this group is probably my favorite of the three groups thus far... also helps that you can basically progress them together instead of receiving members so much later in the game...
It's funny how they start as 2 opposing sides but each of them has a soulmate of sorts from that team, hinted at quite nicely in these scenes!
Technical, there were 5 when this game came out as you had the Torna group and FC as well, even if the second one was 2 return, basically being the aunt and uncle to 2 nopon kids.

The sheer beauty of Xenoblade games is that when you replay old cutscenes after beating the game, you notice details you dismissed on your first playthrough and then it just hits you, now it all makes sense.
So true actually. I'm replying the whole game again, 100% everything like I did in my 1st playthrough. Unlike my 1st playthrough, I'm really trying to understand the whole story and literally notices a lot of things I wasn't aware of or didn't pay attention to. Let's just say that it's working out very well.

There is another chest impalement of a.... significant character (late-game) who doesn't die at all. Special case though.

The Founders' hard work to create the Ouroboros Stone was not wasted. Matthew, A, Shulk, and Rex are smiling from wherever they are.
Hell, they are hints that Noah Blade might actually be Matthes gauntlet ls in a new form, which explains what that green glow was

“We should run!” is probably referring to the snowy flashback in Chapter 6.
Not to mention that D and J were actually interlinked the whole time

2:40 I freaking love this little 5 second exchange. I'm not exactly sure how well it lines up with the tune, but just the way they line up his counting with some of her fighting beats really sells how in tune with her fighting style he was after less than one fight.

Yeah, it's crazy how Noah nerfs himself just so he doesn't accidentally kill people. It's such a heroic trait and spoilers
N represents the person Noah would have become if he didn't have the trigger discipline. N's go to for combat is drawing lucky seven and completely eviscerating his foes. It's so cool to see a contrast of the pacifist main character who goes down the wrong path rather than having the main character be a Gary Stu
You can't have the first death of a game without Vandham!
I'm only at Chapter 6, but there was so much hinted at during this conflict that gets touched on in later events. I won't spoil what, but it's crazy how far ahead specific plot points were hinted at during this fight.
Harry McEntire is a great voice actor. He delivers the same gravitas as Adam Howden and Al Weaver did as Shulk and Rex.
Imagine if we lived in an universe where the xeno 2 voice direction wasn't kinda fucked... the Vas did their best with what they were given to

Anyone finds it odd that they took the time to include Vandham’s soul materialized by the Ouroboros stone?
Honestly I get the feeling there *can* be seven Ouroboros, but the City only employs six. Vandham in this case was the seventh Ouroboros, but he died before he could actually do anything with that given power.
I really hope the story DLC elaborates on the importance of the number 7 specifically, because it's a recurring trend throughout the main story that things seem ultimately tied to the number 7. Lucky Seven, Seven Founders (the seventh shrouded in mystery), 7(Counting Vandham) Ouroboros... I just find that interesting.

Not the strangest of 1st meeting between a couple in video games I guess but it is pretty close to the top of the list.
What's stranger then first meeting on a battlefield, both sides get butchered by a third party, and getting merged into one being?
Oh this is classic Xeno stuff dating back to Xenogears (where it all started) I mean Fei and Elly first met when Elly pointed a gun at him ready to shoot (and kind of pulled the trigger near the end of the game, thought out of fairness it wasn't her....but was her at the same time! Be forewarned, the further back in the Xeno series you go, the more you realize just how much Evangelion.......and parts of END of Evangelion inspired the Xeno series it's around Xenoblade 1 you start seeing it wein, come back abit in X then almost disappear by 2 and 3)

Does anyone notice how Noah's sword begins to glow green from the inside at some point? I don't think it ever happened again throughout the game other than this scene... 🤔

Guernica also noticed that green light, and saw the connection between that green light and the Ourobouros Stone.
While never talked about, I think it's that green light that triggered Guernica to interrupt, saving them, and the world.
I'm four chapters in, and I still have no idea who "Hackt" was.

He’s basically the agnus’s crew’s mwamba
It's the look out,/ scout, since off seers are important to pass on the lost, they need protection, so group consist of a scout, healer, defender, and striker, tho I'm sure Noah needed help back then, I'm sure now he's not concerned for his safety, this applies to Agnus as well, but off seers are in pairs and see little combat, which explains how mio is close to her 10th term, seers have high survivability in aionis

If it makes you feel any better, the vandhams in xenoblade x and xenoblade 1 (renamed to Vangarre in the western release) didn’t die, so at this point the survival ratio of vandhams is 2:2.

After getting a memory download from crazy versions of themselves that had been around for at least a thousand years, and had memories from hundreds or thousands of lifetimes, and had likely explored nearly every weird and kinky thing a couple can get into in that time. Plus, when they Interlink they are literally merged into one being, meaning they literally know everything about each other as if they had been there from the beginning for every single moment.
They literally share thoughts and memories when they interlink. Noah and Mio in 2-3 months are closer to each other than any married couple
Future redeemed spoilers:
After future redeemed, the scene that introduces nichol and glimmer is quite similar to this scene, except from the perspective of the city. Very interesting considering Guernica is related to Matthew who is technically related to this Noah, even if not directly because of weird shenanigans.

I know that every game has ships (romantic ships i mean), but jesus, i never thought that this group will be BY A BIG MARGIN my favorite.

How come Vandham didn’t become an Ouroboros when he activated the stone?
You need to interlink with someone from the opposing side. Vandham is Agnian based so he needs someone that is on the Keves side to form an interlink. That and only 6 people can become an Ouroboros at any given time. The positioning meant that the right people were in the right place at the right time.

are you playing on an emulator or something? because this game runs like hot garbage on my switch, maybe there's something wrong with my switch
No, I never use emulators except for mobile games. I'm playing in docked mode on a launch day Switch. I have some videos of the game in 4K but that's just upscaled for the better upload bitrate. I have heard other comments that suggest some Switches run better than others. Maybe check TV settings though.
Emulators like Yuzu actually run a lot worse than switch, cutscene when played in Yuzu aren’t fluid at all, quite janky and laggy
All the cuts scene are nice and what not but the battles look really going for whatever reason to me, i played 2 and stopped cause the combat just got so boring and repetitive

They don't know what sex is, nor even comprehend anything perverse, they are programmed for war, yes they aware of being dirty, but when they became ouroboros , they became aware of them being male /female and wanted privacy when changing, this is a reference to Adam and eve in the Bible after the couple disobeyed God and ate the Forbidden fruit, now aware of being nude, and this happens in a scene when they get their new clothes, but sadly I'm sure you like to complain without thinking about story elements, and I'll give you a special hint, they is no sexuality in this game, 0 sexuality, their is oppai, but only few characters have large chest , naming them, Monica, Ethel, eunie.
They make no sexual references at all, this game is not even repulsive by any means, don't believe me, play the game, I'm not sure why you have to be upset over a highly censored cutscene, God forbid you watch starship troopers, they got a uncensored mix bath scene, and this was released long before Americans became to butthurt over nudity or sex in movies, and games.
