      Definitely is, especially with someone like Alan, who was a great guy. I put the dedication there to, first off, pay my respects to such a good guy, but to also encourage as many people as I could to go to his last ride. I felt incredibly guilty that I couldn't go to it

    Thanks for the honest review. I have a much cheaper bike (cbf125) and always thought that by paying £4K you’d get the comfy seat and top of the range everything. It’s painful to see that companies still try to milk customers despite such a massive outlay

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, this always happens. Even with companies who are generally good (like Triumph, Ducati), they shortsell on some things to get you back into the dealership asking for a catalogue. I guess it's why there's so much aftermarket stuff, even on Amazon, no one wants to pay 200 quid from Yamaha for comfort seats

    Got mine back in October 2018, 2016 model, found my brakes to be very good... Its my first bike though so can't compare it to much else... Loving riding it though, tyres are stock pilot street, I've added bar end mirrors, phone clamp, tail tidy, mesh intakes, custom taylor rim tape, heated grips are next...

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bar end mirrors are almost always on the list of mods I see for this bike, the stock mirrors just don't do it justice. With the brakes, I agree, at the start, they were gorgeously strong and consistant. I think it's just me forgetting to do a full deep clean and maintenance of the brakes as often as I should

  • @iad77
    @iad77 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    And as a review I'd say you could mix in some panning shots off the bike, a bit of music and editing mixed in with on the bike pov. Your camera quality seems really good and audio sounded really good too, I'd like to know what setup you have re camera and mic...

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My camera is simply a GoPro Hero 4 Silver, running at 1080p 50FPS, microphone is a Purple Panda mic, you can get it for about 20 quid on Amazon. I definitely agree with you on the comments about the editing. This review was in planning for about 2 weeks and I wanted to do more shots of it with my DSLR, but I ran out of time for when I wanted it out. Plus, my editing software is a bit shite, so when I made the review, I didn't know exactly what I was doing, but I do believe I have improved. Thank you for the criticism will be taking all of that on board

    I can hear that sort of ticking/vibrating on your bike too. I got my Mt-125 about a month ago and that noise is driving me crazy.

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think I've heard any ticking/vibration, at least not in the video. Could just be the fact that it's a single cylinder engine. Would you mind giving me a timestamp of when it's most noticeable in the vid?

  • @valtterimiettinen9647

    Have ridden one of these stock and they accelerate really slowly and are really lazy in speed but really reliable. Im getting 2-stroke 125cc which is a lot more powerfull and faster. Wouldn't recommend mt125 for city riding but for long distances yes. If you ride short to medium distances i would recommend 2-stroke for sure

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the problem with 4 strokes, in general. 2 strokes will almost always beat them in power. If you could go for any 125, I'd always recommend a 2 stroke, either a supermoto or RS125

    Why are you worried about your ABS locking your front wheel up? That’s the whole point of ABS, to cut out a potential lock up under harsh breaking

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because I believe (to this day with about 10x better braking technique) that the ABS on my MT (I can't say for any other MT125, whether that be year or specific bike in the same year) is ineffective. It is entirely possible that my bike in particular has a specific ABS fault (which I doubt but is possible), but as I haven't tried another MT, I can't say. The ABS on my MT fully allows the front to lock (which is what the ABS is supposed to prevent) for a longer period than I would expect. However, this was nearly a year ago and I have improved my braking technique and have never felt like the ABS should cut in. If you want a 125 with amazing ABS, look at the RC125 and it's Bosch system, I fully believe that should be the minimum for all 125s

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore

      Could be any number of reasons, like how I had a pretty decent downhill to go on, or that I clutchless shift so I don't lose time or momentum from pulling in the clutch, ETC

      Toby Rider I bought these mirrors off amazon

    What mirrors are these? I have R&G bar ends and need some compatible but need the specific ones :D

    • @ItsBeenDanBefore
      @ItsBeenDanBefore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both of the sets of bar end mirrors I have are just cheap ones from Amazon, but I wouldn't really recommend either of them. If you wanna get bar end mirrors, buy the Puig, Rizoma or CRG ones. For those ones in this video, we had to be fucky with putting them on because there's no way to easily fit them, so we had to make spacers from an R1 spindle (16mm for the left side, 18mm for the right side). But it's just not worth the effort, go for the proper ones. I'm even planning on just entirely getting rid of the mirrors

      Probably the mic not picking it up right. With how my mic is currently set up, it's taped around the boom mic for my intercom, so my voice is alright but anything else is a bit shite. New helmet soon, though, so therefore there will be a better setup
