I know this is late to the party, but the funniest thing is I know Sean personally, and he decided not to sue the douche because hes a sweetheart of a human. He wishes he did now, don't worry, but at the time he was just a mediator that was caught in the middle of it all while trying to help anyone he could.
All in all Sean is an amazing person, and its incredible that I got to become friends with him, and the fact that he even survived a frozen bike lock to the top of his head is shocking, but that's just how strong the dude is. He's also a beast of a man so that helped 👏
I actually know Sean irl. My Mom was his acting coach and I knew him through that. He's a really cool guy and he was really fucked up by this. He used to be a huge advocate for renouncing this type of stuff but ever since this day he's vowed never to voice himself or get involved in anything again. Huge shame.

In a situation like this a local PD won't have the resources of hundreds of people that are absolutely dedicated to searching through thousands of hours of footage, finding the exact person, their name, address, place of work, etc. the FBI has the resources to do this but bike lock assaults don't have much priority on a federal level. Especially when there's much more dangerous threats to national security then a couple people wearing all black carrying around anarcho-communist flags and bike locks.

It's an planned attack on the individual (bike guy), he wanted to hurt him; knowing his name, address, etc. There is usually longer sentences to murderers that plan their killings. We'd likely see a longer sentence for the victim compared to the bike guy. Violence is not an answer to violence, at least, in the eyes of the law.
