    I think there might be a sweet (cost effective) spot at upgraded injectors, down pipe, stage 2 HPFP & hybrid turbo. Say US$6500 & stay within the safe limits of mani, trans & engine

    This is the exact video I needed to watch! One question though, If you only had access to 91oct/95ron pump fuel, how would you go about improving your fuel system to make the most of a hybrid turbo such as the Pure800 and keep things reliable ? My current(540ix) setup is pure800 cast with DS2 hpfp and MHD flex fuel kit, i have a custom tunes for 91oct/e30/e50. i get my E mixes by adding 95% bioethanol(which is pretty expensive in Europe) so Im curious with all the new upgrades out now is there a better way i could fuel my setup? XDI injectors? Intake manifold with meth injection? Or just suck it up and stick with the setup i have? :) Thanks from @b58irl

    • @kern417
      @kern417  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you only have pump gas you don't need anything else. You'll run out of octane before fuel flow even with a TU pump.

  • @huh0123
    @huh0123 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you run 93 octane but swap out for a 10.25:1 or 10:1 compression ratio would you still hit octane limits before fueling? I don’t have any E85 accessible to me and everyone says octane boosters do terrible things to your engine, idk what to do.

    • @kern417
      @kern417  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes but the limits will be higher. It's easier to just add meth injection

  • @NguyenFamandChavez

    When replacing Fuel injector do you have to reset the adaptation? or is it just a plug n play kind of deal.

    • @kern417
      @kern417  ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock are plug and play. Upgraded require custom settings in the tune.

      @@kern417 Don't forget the harness that will cost you another 1K, and most go for larger than 750cc injectors which is another 400 for the common 1050. If you manually wire everything and install it yourself I guess you could get there, but that will apply to very few owners.

    If I wanted to comfortably max out my stock transmission and engine reliably to daily drive on my gen2B58, that would mean around 650HP and 650lbft torque right Kern (or could I go higher torque with a custom transmission tune?)? The best and cheapest way too achieve this would be pure800 with an intake manifold that supports port injection correct? stock injectors and LPFP should be good with that if I'm running E50 right?

    • @kern417
      @kern417  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would lower torque to keep the trans happy and yes that could work

      @@kern417 not gonna lie after doing hella research and watching ton of your videos I cancelled the PG intake manifold and decided to go with turbo/hpfp instead. Just can’t decide between the DAW flowmax or the new Vargas VTT GC-MID. Apparently the MID is made for TU engine and can support 650hp and is like $1k cheaper than DAW. Just haven’t seen any data on it or bimmerposts.
