Grapefruit 18 October 2024 When I learned grapefruit Grew on an evergreen tree, I thought of pine trees Like Christmas trees With grapefruit for ornaments. I was just a child In the pines of Wisconsin. My botany lacked breadth. Now I know the truth: Not all evergreens are pines. (Still, a nice image? Try this one Christmas!)
Odours for All 18 October 2024 I am wond'ring if Earthly scents please creatures Even when not hungry. Heaven his incense--odours; [Rev. 5:8] Are they just for us, Or do the animals smell And savor them too? Alpacas would love Grasses and herbs (forbs) To tickle their keen noses. Humans like spices And the scents of flowers, The smells of good familiar foods, THough we aren't hungry. In Heaven none eat; God's glory sustains us all Like plants in sunlight. We will still have scents To awaken happy thoughts And good memories. Why not alpacas, Who once lived to eat? Even God loves scents And they're His children.
The mystery continues…why is Blue not hungry? Also, where are they going? Maybe the wind was bothering them? I’m glad they are all healthy!

When I learned grapefruit
Grew on an evergreen tree,
I thought of pine trees
Like Christmas trees
With grapefruit for ornaments.
I was just a child
In the pines of Wisconsin.
My botany lacked breadth.
Now I know the truth:
Not all evergreens are pines.
(Still, a nice image?
Try this one Christmas!)
Odours for All 18 October 2024
I am wond'ring if
Earthly scents please creatures
Even when not hungry.
Heaven his incense--odours; [Rev. 5:8]
Are they just for us,
Or do the animals smell
And savor them too?
Alpacas would love
Grasses and herbs (forbs)
To tickle their keen noses.
Humans like spices
And the scents of flowers,
The smells of good familiar foods,
THough we aren't hungry.
In Heaven none eat;
God's glory sustains us all
Like plants in sunlight.
We will still have scents
To awaken happy thoughts
And good memories.
Why not alpacas,
Who once lived to eat?
Even God loves scents
And they're His children.
