  • This video will discuss the importance of understanding your o2 sensors.
    0:30 Narrowbands and widebands
0:45 Let's look at this scan from a 2016 Corvette using HP Tuners scanner
    0:55 oscillating o2 sensors mean...
1:10 Ethanol content of your fuel
    1:30 Wideband setup
2:00 At some point regardless of how much you spent on your wideband a sensor will go bad...
2:30 we see this a lot..you are doing a WOT pull and the wideband reads dead lean....
3:10 You can verify this by looking at your narrowbands
3:45 High millivolt reading tells you that....
4:40 18:1 ratio is really bad
4:50 Swap vehicle...look how bad this scan looks
    5:47 Bad signature
    6:00 Car drove horribly
6:30 Look at what the fuel trims are doing on bank 1 and bank 2
    6:45 Reason why is...

Totally dig how Tuning School / HP Tuners are so open for all to use and learn. #1 reason for using them.

yep great video, try diagnosing to find a narrow band o2 sensor in bank one and a wide band o2 in bank two. though its a lot easier to spot thanks to yall.

One of the more informative videos for me personally I seen in a while from you guys loved it thanks. Common sense really but I get pretty confused reading my scan files.

I see that a lot on c5's normal shops are prone to installing them straight back on the tunnel vs crossing them over in the mid pipes.

Camaro Rick can you give me more detail on this because I had Longtubes installed and now get codes P0134 and P0154 which says No activity. Looks like wires are connected and didn't see any burned wires.

I dont think crossing the sensors will cause "inactivity" like your codes suggest. Check the sensor wiring with a multimeter for voltage look up the connector end view for your sensors to figure it out

I wish you would have went into that a little further, where the WB is showing 15.7 commanded is 14.7, and even though its lean, is showing its pulling ~2% both STFT and ~4%LTFT. Love your videos though!

Wired backwards as in from left to right? Or polarity is backwards?

So when you say there dead when they won’t read over 450 something, does that mean there bad and need replaced? I’ve got a gto I put together and neither sensor will read over 458 no matter what fuel is added.

Full throttle the car is ranning rich, but does this mean stft to be -25%?

So.. If you are running full e85, you don't want it to idle at 14.7? More like 14.3? This always confused me

  • @beardedgiant4136

So if the 02 sensors are pulsing and holding a little over 9 volts then the AFR is 14.7? Then what would cause my car to run rich?
