Good stuff. My Toyota with a 1GR-FE has 4 cats and 4 O2 sensors. Ran rough with poor fuel economy. Swapped out all 4 O2 sensors - both secondaries were outputting OV (I was fortunate enough to have access to a scan tool) - and it now purrs like a tiger cub. Just like it should.

Was your Toyota running bad before swapping the 02 sensors? I have an 05 Chevy Silverado, just swapped out the transmission and a few other parts. It ran good for a day but today it just wouldn’t give enough power, it would stay at 4k rpm at 60 mph. Had a check engine light and the only code that came up was 02 sensors. I’m wondering if replacing the sensors would fix my problem.

In all these situations, my rule is if it isn't right fix it as there is often multiple causes that combine to make all the symptoms. @Jay Yoyo still having the rough idle with no code.. updated both valve covers, plugs, wires, coils, intake manifold, map sensor, cleaned MAF sensor.. so I don’t know. Hi Easy Auto: one of the things I enjoy hearing is the way you say "today's video is about "symptoms of a bad 02 sensor" the way you narrate other videos. It's kind like some kinda child narrator. I want you to know I really appreciate the trouble shooting tip regarding unplugging the 02 sensor to troubleshoot. Since I have 2 sensors only on each side of the exhaust manifold, it should be relatively easy to troubleshoot. This tip will save me $$ in the long run because it's possible I do not need a new MAP sensor. I bought two new )2 sensors but the cost to put 'em on and the fact they could be stuck in the manifold scares me. Thanks, tho for the great tip.

I don't clean mine, I replace them! And I don't follow the 100,000 miles rule. I follow my own instinct. I change mine every 45K to 60K miles depends on how I abused my work truck in a daily basis. I replace 2 of them because my work truck only have 1 catalytic converter so there's 2 of them 1 for upstream and 1 for downstream. I always putting brand new OEM Genuine parts from Nissan, oxygen sensor. After I replace them, I'm also cleaning up the throttle body, MAF Sensor too, and the Air Filter as well since I got Volant Cold air intake on my Nissan Frontier truck. And after all that I'm gonna check all the 6 Spark plugs, if they're still in good condition then I'll leave it there, but If one of them is messed up then I'll be replacing all 6 Spark plugs. So I'm all done replacing the Oxygen Sensor, also checked and or replaced sparkplugs, cleaned/inspected the Throttle body and MAF sensor, then I'll be checking the Fan Belt check/inspect and or replace If necessary. And the other components and parts like water pump, pulley, Fuel Injectors, Transmission Gear box gear oil change, Clutch, Differential Fluid Change, Radiator Coolant check or change, Radiator check/Inspection/ and or Replacement if necessary and so on and so on will be follow up in the next maintenance schedule. this is how I conduct my preventive maintenance on all of my vehicles that's why my 2010 Nissan Frontier Nismo 4.0L V6 (VQ-40) Turbocharged 6 Speed Manual transmission truck is now at 713K miles. Still going strong and still have tons of power and torque.

Could this be responsible for an rpm drop on a cvt from 1500 to 1000 accompanied by a low rumble sound while ascending a hill? No check engine light on and this is the only issue. The rpm drop only lasts for 1-2 seconds then ascends normally

Close to the end of the video you had white smoke coming from the tailpipe. Is that also sign that O2 is bad? My car at startup gets that first smoke more then usual, but it stops soon after. I know its not condensation.

I have a lancer 2006 model. It's a 1.3 L engine with 1 oxygen sensor. I don't get the check engine light but I have to following issues.
    1. Low mileage, 7.5 kmpl ☹️
    2. Rough / heavy idle when cold start (4-500rpm) then gets a bit better when the engine gets warmer (7-800rpm).
    3. When I accelerate at cold start, the engine hesitates & rpm rises with a delay & sometimes with a very light miss fire. (New plugs + coils temporarily solved this problem but it came back after a few days of driving).
    4. I have to constantly clean my MAP sensor + air filter + throttle body with a throttle cleaner spray after every 1000-1500km or else the car starts to behave more sluggish.
    5. I even got my engine completely overhauled recently with new pistons, valves, rings, coils etc although the sensors have not been changed.
    6. I can smell unburnt fuel from the exhaust & it indicates that the car is running rich. It even starts to hurt my eyes I get close to the exhaust.
Kindly advise as to what to check & what can be the possible issue.
    Thanks.

It can without a engine light you can find out by looking at the fuel gauge or checking your vehicle MPG readings if it’s a newer vehicle and it has that

A funny thing happened to my 96 sentra, in the mornings it would have a tough time starting, part of it was the fuel pump going bad, but I could not figure out why it was still bad, my inyectors and throttle body were perfect, other sensors were working fine, until I unplugged the oxygen sensor, BOOM, fired right up on a cold morning.

  • @fano4044

Can it have symptoms only on cold start? like first 15-30 second, vibrating, rough idle
