I bought 2 of these years ago...both were DOA. No warranty / return b/c I waited until day 35 to contact manufac. Fast forward and I finally pulled them apart to fix them. My problem is both won't turn on and/or charge. The blue BATTERY (not a capacitor!) is defective. It is a typical 3.7 V CR18650. You can buy these separately or take from an old drill's battery (they have upto a dozen inside). Replace, rewire the battery, voila. Very cheaply built/assembled.

Hi Randy, thank you for the comment and I appreciate the battery specs. It's great to hear you were able to recover yours! I do not echo your same sentiment about this device. I am really happy with this little speaker. We have been through an era where bluetooth speakers simply did not produce high quality audio (or had other shortcomings). During that period, this one stuck out as sounding excellent with a very long battery-lifespan. Take care, my man. :)

@@VestigialVoice Thanks. the sound is quite good, I agree. Also, for replacement batteries- these 3.7V batteries are a min of $15 a battery. Here is a free 'hack', go to any Home Depot and take a recycled power/driver battery pack out of the bin (the sales people have no problem). Open it up and inside is upwards of 12 or so of these inside. usually 10/12 are perfectly good! People throw them out when one or 2 cells go bad (can't recharge). Free batteries for your gear (fix your own drill batteries) and/or use extras to power flashlights etc (that use Li-Ion). !! :)

Also, make sure the replacement batteries are at least 2200 mAh and not 1200 or 1400 kind.

Brilliant! That gets me thinking... Perhaps you know, is there a controller circuit that regulates charging for the array of batteries in those drills? I hope to hear from you soon, bud :)
