  • This Bluetooth Speaker had a fault with one of its speakers, here I open it up and have a voyage of discovery finding the problem and fixing it.

I just fixed a similar rattle on my Go V2, following the steps you took to dismantle it. I would never have had the confidence to open it up without this video, but doing so has prevented e-waste of a perfectly good speaker, as well as saving me about £200 on a new one! Thank you so much!

You had a great opportunity to add a 1UV film capacitor in parallel to the series electrolyte capacitor that goes to the tweeter and thus significantly improve the sound quality. And one more thing: it is important that the cover with the speakers fits tightly to the body - otherwise there will be little bass.

Excellent. Electronics repair by using a vice, this is just the sort of thing we need at this time.

What is much more important is that it works... and looking for exactly such a speaker is not a rewarding task.

Does anyone know where you can get a replacement battery for this?
Mine is well past its best.
I’m struggling to find one via the usual searches

I’ve just had exactly the same problem only the magnet had came off completely. Added some two pack glue and realignment done to ensure voice coil was clear. Now working but still thinking of replacing speakers for new.

I wish you could tell me how to open up the Cambridge YO-YO L for repair

I bought this model and despite the reviews at the time it is junk. It was never that good in sound (though bass is good). Too heavy to travel with, BT pairing only work for about 1.5m. I failed to keep it charged when I put it in storage for year and battery or switches seems to cut out randomly now. Can't even get the 3.5 Jack to run it.
