"I don't feel bullied by woke politics, I feel educated by it". What a fantastic thing to say. I love Frank. He's a wonderfully honest man.

Did the interviewer read the book? Because the questions sound like he hadn't. Would be respectful to read the book of the person you are interviewing, no?

They're not talking about a book, they're talking about Frank's new stand up show. Would be respectful to actually understand the video before criticising, no?

I had the misfortune of seeing his interview with Nile Rogers. He's a good enough presenter when he's doing UC and stuff on the News channel or whatever but he is a terrible host when he's doing big names and he has to let the guest talk (the "Parkinson Trick").
Mind you I'm not even sure why I clicked in this anyway...

And yet every episode of room 101 that he hosted has at least one ageist moment. It is like comedians only understand what stereotype is damaging if they're told, otherwise they go ahead. Some comedians in the 70's knew it was wrong to be racist without being told and so were not and others were dreadful and offensive.
You just know if a comedian these days makes an ageist joke and can't think for themselves it is a damaging stereotype that they would have been one of the awful racist comedians if they'd been on TV in the 70's. Others will refrain because they can think for themselves and don't need to be told.
Given history you can't compare ageism with racism but when you see the abusive stereotyping of age... Not just elderly people but others too... It works on the same principle. Assumptions that people who share non personality related traits have things in common that binds them into a collective personality that is different from other people.
Ageism on the BBC these days will be viewed not unlike the way we view racism and sexism from TV channels in the 70's.

David Baddiel has apologised to Jason Lee, it's bullying.
