    There wasn’t much wrong with the old CB1100 but they’ve fixed it anyway. And then some…
    Honda’s in many ways astonishing retro roadster has, it must be said, been something of the ‘forgotten man’ in the current fashion for all things retro and café racer.

    I love the RS but the only flaw I see it that it gives you only 90HP, other than that is a beautiful lovely bike and is a HONDA !!

      They're trying to replicate the UJM of the '70s. The CB750 weighed about the same and had only 67 HP.

      'only' 90 hp. lol.

    the tank is bigger? in capacity it certainly is not, it has less capacity than the EX models of 2014!

      We didn't get the 2014 EX in the U.S. but the 2014 Deluxe has a 4.6 gallon tank vs 4.4 gallon for the 2017 EX. I guess he meant it was larger than the 3.9 gallon tank of the 2014 STD.

    Why would you buy one instead of a Triumph Thruxton/T120?

      Air cooled, genuine retro.

      T120 sounds like a 2-cycle and shakes too much at idle for my taste. I like the smoothness of an inline 4.

      Why would you buy a t120 instead of this beauty??!!

    How have you been riding bikes this long and have learnt so little in mechanical sympathy....

    • @bennettsbikesocial
      @bennettsbikesocial  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      NZsarge1 some of the footage we are able edit with comes directly from Honda. That said, I'm certain they'll have warmed the engine thoroughly before shooting the ignition/revving section. Don't worry, no bikes were harmed in the making of this video!

      @NZsarge1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Bennetts Bike I appreciate the reply and the engine being hot would help but for my way of looking at this regardless of it being warm revving an engine to redline the second it's fired displays very poor mechanical sympathy as it takes a few seconds for an engine with a mechanical oil pump to build to an acceptable pressure for free revving a motor. I even object to free revving a motor to redline, it irks me considerably as it's not necessary, fine redlining a motor under load though obviously.

      Absolutely agree.
      It chills me to the bone when I see this. The red line for me is a no go zone, no matter what.
      My NC700S, 2013 has now 101.000 km. Runs like day one. When I cold start it I leave it a alone for about 90 seconds before the hand carefully reaches for the throttle, together with a 4000 km oil change interval the bike still has as new compression and the motor looks absolutely clean inside.
      But hey that's just me.
      Would love to have the CB1100RS but I already have two bikes and I can't print the money like the government......lol 🤦‍♂️
      Safe rides 👍🏍
