Man... The American commercial for Earthbound really sucked... It didn't show anything interesting from the gameplay and the voice over was too quiet and only told a basic summary of the story. They really did this game dirty when it came to its ad campaign back in the day. Bet kids back in the day didn't even know what the genre was, just from basing it off from the ad.
I remember watching the virtual console trailers for earthbound and beginnings, it was how I was introduced to the mother series, the earthbound one always scared me at the beginning and then reeled me back in with the rest of it, while the beginnings one always made me feel calm all the way through. I barely knew what was going on in the trailers I was so young, but I always wanted to play them, I guess even 7-year old me knew masterpieces when I saw them, good times. Now that they are on Nintendo switch online I can finally fulfill an 8-year old dream of mine, thank you earthbound for being part of my childhood even though I never got to play you until now.
