What’s crazy about these engines is that they do it all without superchargers or turbochargers. All naturally aspirated with just a strong ass engine.

Not only are they naturally aspirated they also have restrictor plates
Small blocks with a high compression
And that wasn't even the full 850-900 hp Cup Series NASCAR. That looked like an old 650 hp Xfinity Series NASCAR. Imagine what a Cup Series car would have done to it's competition!

@@bigdawg77 Yep, no superchargers, turbo's, nitrous, any of that. They were just naturally aspirated small block V-8's built for sheer power and they were badass. They came with the 900 hp package starting in 2007 through 2014 seasons. In 2015 NASCAR changed their application to a 750 - 800 hp because the drivers were doing speeds of 220 - 230 mph on select superspeedways which would cause the cars to take flight during a spin so they wanted to slow the cars down. Those Cup cars were beasts back then, many of the veteran drivers want to go back to the higher horsepower engine. As it is now NASCAR has a 678 hp engine in the Cup cars of today and you rarely see them get over 200 - 205 mph anymore. The only track I think they do those speeds is at Michigan and it's sister track out in Fontana.

they can change the gears, those cars have near 1000 horsepower and can go 220+ in a straight line with the right gearing
I get how people find Nascar boring, but you've never lived until you see these things fly past you 20 feet away at full speed. The sound, vibration, wind, the colorful blur of the cars... It's incredible

@@Michaelyumyum yes very loud right next to where i used to live was a dirtbike race track so it was always loud i loved it tho😂😂 neighbour had a catless downpipe gt500 2004 and thought that was loud when we heard the nascar and the bikes racing u could barely notice it

aixkacang Can't compare a NASCAR stock car to a F1 open wheeler, they're made for different things. A NASCAR stock car without restricted engine could reach 400 km/h as it was seen in various tests seen before, and a F1 car unleashed on the Utah Salt Flats has reached the same speed too. So based on that they're dead even. But the NASCAR stock car will never shift or be as quick in the turns as a F1 open wheeler, as it's thought to be for oval racing mainly. Both of them would get smoked by a NHRA Top Fuel dragster though, since those reach 530 km/h in around 4 seconds lol

That GTR is a BEAST. It barely lost to the nascar and you know that nascar is significantly lighter!
Gotta think about this tho. The GTR has launch control and awd which will result in an almost perfect launch. Nascar has nothing like that. At 1:20 you can see how badly that nascar was spinning up
How much power do NASCAR cars make?
NASCAR Engines can produce upwards of 900 horsepower. However, in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series at all but two road and oval tracks, Daytona, and Talladega, the engine is restricted to producing 670 Horsepower. These two tracks are limited to 510 horsepower. Prior to 2022 this was 750 and 550 horsepower respectively.
NASCAR is a sanctioning body not a make of car.
Technically they aren’t ‘STOCK’ cars either. I guess its like using Coke in place of pop or soda.

When NASCAR started cars were modified stock of the showroom automobiles, up into the 90’s parts of the cars had to be stock stamped parts such as floor pans, hood, deck lid, and roof panels. The GTR was a tad slower but that driver got to switch on the air con and drive home comfortably. That's a win.

NASCAR stands for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. Therefore, it is an acronym for a group/club/association. It is not an object, and so Boots_And_Slick14 is 100% correct. It is not a NASCAR. It is a Stock Car, which is a part of NASCAR.

That was like America vs Japan at pearl harbour. That Nissan is so quick it’s unbelievable, it was just a couple of tenths from the nascar at the finish line. The rest were miles away at the finish line..

The gtr is mine & I was the one running her. Unfortunately she wasn't tuned properly that day for the engine mods that are in there so I'm currently fixing those, switching to an e85 tune and will see what that does.
Jason Bowen Aye a stock gtr usually run 120-130's in the 1/4 even with its short gearing, I'm thinking more aggressive tune and better breathing system for about 700-750hp.
E85 setup would be insane gains.
+SUPREME VK56DE just listened regera and one:1 dyno, not impressive tbh. Not like day and nigh difference like you say so. Listen to mine 05 mustang gt v3 supercharged dyno . Recorded from I will say 20 feet away. And the Regera from 6 feet away. Listen carefully. True exhaust sound is hard to justify on video. But I listen on full volume, I think that's the least we can do. Also while my car being dyno, I feel the sound wave slightly shaking my body over the other room. The sound is like a metal concert
How's is it that a stock car can go 180-200 mph in a circle with other cars around, but can only go 145 mph in a straight line?

Curtis Robinson curtis, it's because of drafting or slip streaming. it's when one car or more drives behind a lead car and reaps the benefits without any wind resistance, which will cause the car to go up in speed which then lets them overtake the lead car.

Am I truly seeing this ? And these responces. Its a 1/4 mile by the speeds. Not even a half or all those cars are horriable. Including the gtr!! I had a 93 Cobra with a 302 I built that ran 10.49@129mph much faster then 140 in a half!
The nascar can run 200 with draft in a long track or oval. People wake up and use your brains a little.

The fact that the NASCAR had so much wheel spin at the start and still beat the GTR goes to show the beauty of how much of a beast those stock cars are and that’s not even the cup car that has another 200-300 more hp lol I think there sitting around 850hp I think until they change it in 2019 to drop it another 100 or so.

I’m not a nascar fan but For those that don’t know the car is geared to run big mph. It probably has something like a 2.70 2.80 rear gear. That explains the slow start.
The expensive clutch is not designed to launch and was slipping by the time he was racing the Porsche

Straight line runs isn't where the GT-R shines best with its AWD, but it still didn't lag far behind. I wonder how the cards stack up on the Nürburgring.

These are maybe the most misunderstood race cars on the internet. The key to that statement is: Race cars. A modern American stock car, what everyone calls a NASCAR, if built professionally is going to haul butt. If rules would allow (they don't) guys could get em built with current materials under 2500 pounds and making 1100 hp for an entire event.
