In stock car engines, they run hot water through the motors water-jacket before starting it. Those tolerances are very tight. Probably why the motor blew.
Very little is stock about a stock car. IMO NASCAR racing engines should be built to street specification (i.e. as if it was going in a daily driver). At least that would be much closer to stock than what they're currently running.
They don't heat the water . . . the oil tank has a heater. If it's the first start of the day, you spin the starter without the ignition on to circulate the oil, and get the warm oil to the engine, then start it.
3:32 You literally adjust the ride heights and lift it up really high with a couple turns in the engine bay. It would take probably 2 minutes. 1/2 inch ratchet no head

Years ago we had one at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta. We took it to lunch one day and parked in a parking deck in downtown. It basically caused a small scale riot. Every person within a half a mile came outside. 50/50 split, half the people loved it the other half were royally pissed, covering their ears and screaming obscenities. Almost didnt get that high compression motor cranked back up after lunch. If you didn't start it by the 2nd or 3rd time the battery would be dead because it was so hard to turn over that high compression motor. We climbed in and out of the windows lol. Great times and no one ever believes me. So many great car stories growing up outside Atlanta watching too much Dukes of Hazzard. I have a seriously good one im saving. I need to get it on here somehow. Dont ever drive a Nascar inside a parking deck. I knew afterwards, it was a bad idea. That no muffler echo off the concrete ceiling = damage and pain

I've been trying to be "that friend" Working on getting a friend of mine into collecting Hotwheels Cars. So far I only convinced him to collect Mario Kart Hotwheels and the Mario Kart tracks. That's a start. Almost got him to buy himself an older casting he had as a kid. I was hoping it would be a proper gateway drug to diecast car collecting. He's a work in progress but we're getting there.

They used to take outdated chassis or test cars and update the look to whatever their present day car looked like, for a show car. They had them all across the country. Either, in this case, local beer distributors would buy them for advertising, or a private owner would rent them to locations that sold the products that was the sponsor on the car, for their advertisements. So you did better than him. You got your picture with a real NASCAR Cup. And you didn't get fleeced.
