I base all of my Broadhead purchases off of your reviews. The Deepower you reviewed literally blows my mind how tough it is. Hard to beat for what you pay. If it can be beat.
Mr Lusk, I always enjoy when your videos pop up. I seen on AT I believe you've got some heads coming up. I'm looking forward to it sir. God bless brother
@LuskArcheryAdventures just curious if you positioned the o ring to the front groove. They have 3 different settings. Although in the video I see it's positioned correctly for a crossbow. Just know you mentioned that you couldn't get it to fly that good for you.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures bow season started yesterday here in Arkansas. My arrows are tipped with the broadhead that i chose from watching your videos.i seen several deer this wknd but not the one I'm after. Usuly around the 2nd week of oct the older bucks start getting careless. I can't wait to try the new heads out. I'm sure they will work great. I really enjoy the videos. You've helped me allot on my choice. I was having problems with my prior heads. And wanted to change. Found your videos last year and it made it easier for me to decide.
They make a 1.5" cut 75gr with .045 blade and they come in a 6pk!! My dad uses the 75gr and I used to know Thomas that owns Xecutioner. I would suggest using two of the o-rings with a Xgun that fast they are likely coming open at some point
I've been using the 100gr version of that head for about ten years or so. I've never failed to get pass throughs on numerous hogs and deer. Many of the guys who hunted the same ranch in Texas (including the guides) wont shoot any other heads! They perform awesome on the biggest hogs. Just an aside.....they stopped letting guys use the Swackers on that ranch due to too many lost hogs.
Schwacker has an entry hole only the size of the arrow. You only get a blood trail if the arrow gets a pass through. I shot a deer and an elk with them both only went 60 yards but zero absolutely zero blood trail. Luckily they had tracks I could follow and I knew I hit them well. I decided I couldn’t use them incase it wasn’t a good shot because you would never find them if no pass through. I also went back to heavier arrows and fixed broad head. You work so hard to get a shot and the less variables the better.
@@moneyandtimefreedom3352 that is 100% wrong. swhackers have a minimum of 1" entry hole even if they never opened at all (they ALWAYS open), they don't waste energy on a useless high side entry hole that doesn't bleed out anyway. i have never not gotten a pass thru with a swhacker, and no deer has ever made it out of my eyesight. i will use no other head. all used heads had the blades touched up and are back im my quiver now. don't blame the head because of your shot placement.
I have the original executioners and they had 3 different indents in the ferrule for different bow speeds. I had zero flight issues and the blades opened fully on my foam broadhead target.
Nice, as usual. I wish you had a wider variation in your scores John, seem to be a lot of mid 80's scores to me. Maybe all broadheads are getting better? Perhaps involve a spinning or moving target in 2025 to show how a broadhead does in a moving (animal} target. I'd like to see scores in a wider range, like in school, to separate the wheat from the chaff, as it were. Dozier
Thanks for the feedback. I have considered that as well. However, it’s not just that a lot of them score in the 80s. It’s that they get there in different ways. Some may get an extra higher score because of the sharpness of the blades or others because of their durability or others, their flight or penetration. so it’s up to each Hunter to consider what they want the strength of the broadhead to be and then they can select one accordingly. In addition to that, the fact that a lot of them score in the 80s also a good indication that a lot of them are going to be quite lethal. And that’s just the way it is. I wouldn’t want to create a scoring system that gives a low score to head that will likely be lethal most of the time. And it also shows how exceptional abroad is if it scores in the 90s.
I always wonder if the ones that shoot bad ,always hit the same general area, in which case you could just adjust your sites, and you have an accurate broadhead.
Just like any removable blade fixed head may need to be aligned/adjusted with a piece of paper and a spinner to make sure it’s spinning tru. Any misalignment with the head on the ferrel will throw off the accuracy. Not sure if this was done or not
Depends on your bow/arrow set up. They shoot the exact point of impact as my field points out of my bows. You just make sure your bow is tuned to them, like most other broadheads.
If you look at the cut in your bulls eye it looks like the head was open not shure if it was something to think about. You do the best job in the industry. Darren
Awesome testing as always John. I just picked up a pack of these the other day. I’m eager to field test them soon. In terms of flight, I’m curious which groove you had the o ring in. They say the top one is for crossbows, the middle is for average compound and the bottom hole is for lighter draw. weights. I did have to bump up to the top groove as I think the blades were opening just a bit to affect flight
1) What’s the 2nd hole in the ferrule for? 2) From what it looks like in the video when shooting the broadhead for accuracy it looks like it was in the open position when it struck the target. If that’s the case, it’s opening in flight thus causing accuracy issues.
Yeah, I need to do that. I just gave a bit of an overview about it when I first got it. But I’ve been meaning to do a more formal review. Right now I’m stuck in Colorado getting another back surgery, so it may be a while. And I gave my CP 28 away to a good buddy.
I’m using one that I got off of Amazon. I’m not at home so I can’t remember the brand. But it was kind of a no-name brand yet. It is very well constructed.
I will stick with fixed blades. I can see zero advantages to using a mechanical Broadhead. Shot placement is king. I feel if the shot goes south a fix blades offer your best chance of recovery of the animal. Your testing is invaluable, thanks for sharing all the work you put in to the testing.
It seemed like they may have been opening in flight. Which would make for terrible accuracy. Also can you tell me what the secondary threaded hole is for on the ferrule? The one just above the hole that accepts the screw that holds the blades in place?
I don’t know if you know but Joe Rogan and Cameron Haynes mentioned you in a video and said what a good job you do reviewing broadheads
That pretty cool
He knows. He made a post on his instagram about it
Yeah, that was very nice of them. That’s the second really encouraging shout out that Joe has given me. I am very appreciative.
Great review as always! John i pray everything goes well with your back surgery and wish you a speedy recovery
Thank you brother!

glad your hard work got the recognition that it deserves
Thank you
One the best slowmo shots. Pretty cool.
Thanks
That was an awesome slow- mo shot of the broadhead spinning in the air at the end of the video.
Yeah, I loved that as well.

These broadheads are accurate.
They destroy deer and huge blood trails.

Love your videos! Very much appreciate how thorough you are! May I ask where you got your shirt in this video?
Thank you. That is sold by Bow Adx. You can find them on their website.
Awesome testing. I shoot the xecutioner mechanical 2.5 inch cut or you can make it 1 3/4 cut. They are a good broadhead
Thanks for sharing that.
The accuracy killed it for me.If you can't hit what you're shooting, at, what's the point?

If that’s the case, it’s opening in flight thus causing accuracy issues.
You can put the blades into that hole and then the blade lays back more. Giving it a smaller cut and more laid back blade angle for penetration.
That’s to adjust the cut size, I believe. And re the flight, that may be the issue. I believe I suggested that might be the problem.
That bishop jumbo in the rubber mat is still so crazy to me
Haha. Right?
Whoa Nelly!!!!

Could you do a review of the elite era and maybe compare it to your bow tech cp28?

That was very kind of him to say.

I’m using one that I got off of Amazon. I’m not at home so I can’t remember the brand. But it was kind of a no-name brand yet. It is very well constructed.
It looks like it was opening in flight during the accuracy testing. As the entry cut was full sized.
Very well could be.

Love your bible T!
Thank you. I love that as well. It is made by Bow Adx. They make a lot of great stuff.
Deepower has a head like this now, except it’s 100-grain and the fixed blade is highly vented, so it should fly better. Cost $25 for a 4-pack.
Thanks for sharing that.

Zero advantages? Bigger cut? Generally better accuracy? Better blood trails?
I have used these on deer they are devastating.
They are deer stoppers for sure and accurate to 100 yards.
Thanks for sharing that.
Might make for a great turkey broadhead
Yep
I’ll stick with the Evolution Hyde
Great heads
I have tried just the normal mechanical heads and I also had flight issues and they were very loud in flight
Thanks for sharing that.
Anyone know where i can have my own broadheads made
You need to connect with a machinist.
Theyd be nice for a crossbow
Yep
It seemed like they may have been opening in flight. Which would make for terrible accuracy.
Also can you tell me what the secondary threaded hole is for on the ferrule? The one just above the hole that accepts the screw that holds the blades in place?
Low poundage to high poundage band settings
The second hole allows you to put the blades in that hole. Which reduces the cut size by laying back the blades more. Increasing penetration
Yeah, I was concerned about that as well. The second hole is for the adjustment in blade angle and cutting diameter.

Nice
As you may have guessed- I’ll pass on this one.
