    Such a beautiful Burl blank they cut for you!! No doubt, the best piece going!! Enjoyed that original cutting! Can see, it's going to be an other huge bowl!!     Beautiful just love the grain in burials love the look of the unturned burials the texture of them you did a super job on it the semi-gloss finish look great as well .I think I will try that alcohol trick on my next bowel looks stunning and not the least bit upset that you did not core it out Blessings Tanya Have a Super Awesome Day

    Oh my! Absolutely beautiful bowl! I don’t do resin either for the same reasons you mentioned. Thanks for the tips on denatured alcohol a on bowls and cookie slices. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and not keeping it to yourself! Lol Gary

    Very nice turning. Resin is really expensive and the market dictates what you sell. But it may be something to give as a gift, BUT a mistake is really costly.

    Another very nice bowl with great grain! I also am not a resin fan as I like the natural wood look best. The denatured alcohol will dry the wood. Some guys in my woodturning club tried soaking some blanks, large and small, in some for 24 hours and it was amazing how dry it was! I definitely like the finish on this bowl as it lets the natural look of the bowl shine through. Nice job and hve a blessed day!

    AMAZING! It's wonderful that you're experimenting to see what works for you. The coffee burl doesn't have eyes in it but it's still stunning nonetheless. I believe it's technically an "onion burl". Your video was a treat 😊

    You are braver than I am. When I get any kind of burl I do not experiment I go by the science/ the good old woodworker wizards. I did learn from you today and I appreciate it very much.😅

    Beautiful bowl. You mentioned all the reasons why it didn't change shape. I turn alot of burls. I think one of the major reasons why it didn't change shape is because normal bowls change due to the grain. They Wingate in the direction of the grain and shrink across grain but in a Burl there is no prominent grain direction so alot less likely to change shape.

    Another turner on TH-cam, Square Peg Tommy, has videos where he immerses bowl blanks in a bucket of denatured alcohol to dry them.
    Bowl looks great and has beautiful figure!

      Something I do after I am done sanding is to blow my project off with the air hose and wipe it back with Denatured Alcohol.

    Coffee wood, is that the tree that grows the brown seed pods? I have a opportunity to get some of that wood. No burls but looks like some awesome grain and color.

    Burls don’t have a patterned grain, that might be the reason why it didn’t move.

      I know burls have unusual grain patterns. They tend to swirl around and give it its interesting patterns.
      This is just what I know about burls. It may or may not be correct 🤔
