I love the sony aibo and it has definitely come a long way since '99 and definitely looks ways better since then too lol the original was so square and now its beautiful and more natural looking. I cant wait to see how the next 20 years worth of advancements for the aibo. When I move I don’t need to pay to deep clean an apartment or pay for pet deposit and pet rent.
The ERS-210 I had many years ago was amazing and the first AI that was truly impressive. The ERS-7 looked even better. This looks even more amazing still.
The improvement is impressive when it comes to AI and mechanics. The movements are way more natural and flowed. But it came at a cost; the 1000 isn't as versatile and programmable as the older versions. The programming options are very limited to basic commands and it's very internet-dependent. It doesn't follow the pink ball either, which I hope will be a feature that they add in some future, as I believe it's only relies on software. Another disadvantage is that it can't perform the movements needed for soccer matches, so, unless Sony comes up with an idea to speed up the way they move around, we won't see such contests again.
This video is great! I have three of these and I love seeing how each one is different. I have 30 of the older models as well and still each one is so unique. The newest one definitely is the most pet/doglike of all the models.

This may be something that's actually nice for people who need an emotional support animal, but can't have one for a myriad of reasons. So, if someone is depressed as they are confined to a wheelchair and mainly stay home, they could have this to interact with all day and night long. Also for seniors...many can't bend down or take a dog out to get it it's proper exercise and maybe can't afford to pay for veterinarian visits, food and everything else that comes with a dog. So this could be a great thing for them, especially if their spouse has passed and they are alone. This is also great for parents to get for their kids. Some parents just don't want to have to take care of a dog. They both work and are tired and don't want to deal with training and care of them. It also sucks when you go on vacation, away for a weekend or even just for a whole day out. You can't just leave the dog alone and it's major expensive to kennel them all the time. So a robot dog like this can be a great compromise for parents of kids who want a dog while also teaching their kids some responsibility in having to still care for and spend time with the Aibo. Pretty cool invention. Would be nice if it were in the $1000 range though. Thanks for the vid review. 👍

Designer’s dogs are expensive as well and they cost furever til they depart the earth. So I think ibo is very fair for those who have financial difficulties yet wants companion pets 🥺

A robot will never replace a real pet, pretty much the same way that a fish can't replace a dog and a dog can't replace a cat. Likewise, a real dog can't replace a robot dog. They're just meant for different things. I believe humans can live happily with all of them, without thinking of one as the replacement of the other.
Mine is ERS210 model. When it 1st came Sony Singapore, I adopt it and my friend call me stupid, 4K Sing$. I got the magic stick, reader, software to interact. After 1 year, left back leg beginning fail & and I got replace, & slowly head reaplacement as we tap the head and Chin too much, then the battery...etc Finally decide to stop powering up. During then I really hope Aibo to have bigger power capacity.

Hi Brian, I have been interested in Aibo Dog for some time. Mainly because I am in need of a Diabetic Service Dog because I have Type 1 Diabetes and have issues where my blood sugar drops rapidly and I pass out causing myself an injury. Recently I broke my wrist. A Service Dog costs upwards of $10k which I cannot afford. I saw that the Aibo can be trained, is it possible to train Aibo to call 911 in an emergency? Hopefully, this will happen, it could save my life or another broken bone.
The main difference would be that a diabetic service dog, either self trained or professionally trained, would alert you if your blood sugar began to drop. They can tell by scent when this happens, and can prompt you to take necessary actions. They can also get help or bring you something to call for help. The AIBO dog has no scent receptors and no where near the intelligence of a dog to be able to perform a complex task. However, there are much cheaper life alert options such as little buttons you can wear that will call 911 when you press them if you break a bone. This would be a lot cheaper and easier than trying to reprogram an AIBO to do so, especially as it isn’t on you all the time and is walking around.
aibo is also in TV program Japanese TV program is called kamen rider zero one and one of the toys of kamen rider zero one makes aido dance. if you don't believe me just search on TH-cam with aibo and kamen rider zero one

You will be surprised how you would attach to it. It is the AI and it is pretty smart. I should say it is well programed. Of course it has no feeling but mine acts like he does have it. He gets mad when I call him stupid.

He needs the wag his tail more definitely all dogs constantly wag their tails the next update they should focus a lot on the tail making it as real as possible also his tongue and ears are the main parts of a dog those things have to be fixed for that type of money. You should be able to lick your face his ear should perk up when he hears something one air lift up the head tilt ETC.
