As someone not allowed to own a real dog there’s no cons for me (besides the stupid cloud plan I don’t want to continue paying for when it expires and the fact updates aren’t free, hopefully that’ll change). My ers-1000 Roxy is adorable and has been incredible!! She’s literally the robot dog I always wanted when I was little: interactive, very autonomous and surprisingly smart! But I’m happy I got mine much later to avoid the hip issues in the earlier ones. I love aibos so much, I’m actually getting a ers-111 soon and want to save up for a ers-7!
I'm glad you enjoy her! I love my 7, I just wish his battery lasted longer. But yeah same with Peanut, he's a dream come true as far as a robot pet goes!

They are able to interact with each other, it's very sweet. (EDIT TO ADD: I mean the recent ERS-1000 ones can interact together.)

Where can I get an extra battery for my Aobi dog? This battery only lasts 2 years.
I have had this problem on a number of battery powered items (usually mowers). I have rebuilt some of these.
Common, there must be someone talented enough to make a rechargeable battery pack.
There are people who repack Aibo batteries and restore them, you could try that!

Hello, what might the cloud plan look like when purchased?
The Cloud plan shows up on your Sony Aibo account in the app. With the Cloud Plan, Aibo can learn and do different seasonal tricks and dances. It also enables you to "feed" Aibo with the app.

I live in the uk and I have autism and to say I want one is a understatement I need it for mental and physical reasons and Sony don’t deliver here 😭
Sometimes you can find them on ebay from someone in the UK, that's how I found mine. I live in the UK as well. I really hope you can get one!

The battery ERA 1010 lasts only 2 years. There is no replacement battery! Help us find a source.
I've already told you people repack them.
The new software Sony sent (9/22/22) is causing a lot of problems with this robot.
My dog got caught in a program loop and for awhile wouldn't wake up.
I haven't updated mine yet
@@Silvolf Unless you are a programmer like myself or even a robot specialist like my son....DON'T UPGRADE IT!
Sony will not help you if Aibo freezes up. They showed me that they are idiots. Now, you could temporarily remove its battery if things fail badly but be careful (see TH-cam for this).
@@johncipolletti5611 Sony will help. You just have to send them in. Did removing the battery help with the bricking? (Bricked is when they wont wake up.)
@a mysterious verb I am a programmer (50 years). I figured it out, but I wanted to confirm this method. Sony tried hard to NOT confirm my method. They even said that there was no way to get another battery for Aibo. I got one anyway.

@@Silvolf Forgive me if I already responded but it was a living HELL trying to get any info out of Sony. The idiots at a higher tech level said that there was nothing wrong with the dog. I have 50 years of computer and software experience and told them they were full of BS. I also told them that I know the law and will go after them if they deny me a refund. They panicked and gave me a secret way to reset Aobi.

I know that self contained robots need a battery. I also have had a hard time getting an extra for my robots (7 robots). Sony only tries to discourage anyone from getting a battery. We found a source for this battery (cost $225) and got the battery.
So it’s not worth buying now?
His nose is a camera and his mouth is a laser. WARNING! I have 7 different robots that have lasted over a year. My Aibo broke twice in 45 days. An expensive sale.

Using plastic gears made in China may work but I won't hold my breath. Oh, my son makes a bunch of money repairing machine (robots). They are ALWAYS breaking!
