Maria would be SUCH a good pick for bachelorette. Whether you like her or not, she’s the opposite of the same vanilla, cookie-cutter bachelorettes we’ve had so many times before. ABC always wants to say this is the “most dramatic season ever” and all that, so it just makes sense to pick Maria. With how articulate, dynamic, and brutally honest she is, it would be so fun to watch her take control of 30 grown men in a room. Especially if they threw a couple guys in there that would try to “tame” her, it would be amazing to see her weed those kind of men out.
This is such a solid point. It would be peak reality tv if she has a moment ripping apart one of those dudes like Yosef from Clare’s season lmao. I’m here for it
I agree, and so does the crowd at WTA ! ABC would be dumb to not cast Maria for bachelorette but will likely choose someone "safe and sweet" for the "romance story" no one falls for anymore.

Can I just say, Rachel is gorgeous. And her spirit is so beautiful. She has a lovely personality, and the fact that all the women love her? That says a lot. She doesn’t deserve any of the hate and negativity she’s gotten. I would love to see a Maria as lead season, but I also think Rachel would make an equally good and deserving lead. Rachel so deserves the Bachelorette spot.
I would want Rachel as the bachelorette, but feel when she is ready and fully over Joey and Maria to have her own reality show with her family. Many people only want Maria due to the drama she would bring. However, she is too wishy washy and interrupts a lot when someone is talking. That won't be good for a relationship and the men don't deserve someone that people want just to be entertained watching the show.
Maria fans can be entertained if she was to have her own show with her family about her life but Maria is just not ready for a healthy relationship based on what I saw while watching the show.

Can I just say this WTA is the best in recent years…just cut to the chase no bs right at the beginning, there’s tears, there’s drama, there’s laugh, and most importantly, there’s genuine feelings. I enjoyed every second of it!!!
It was nice to see the show finally address the fact that so much of their fan base is toxic. They’ve never made any attempt to protect contestants before this, even though they wouldn’t have a show without them

I really want to show some love to Rachel. For me she’s been classy and delightful. I know she might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but no one deserves the racist treatment she’s received.
I wonder if it'll ever come out what really happened? Unless it was just that all of a sudden the viewers are full of motivated white supremacists who just woke up and realized an unprecedented non-Caucasian has infiltrated their favorite show and something needs to be done about that, racist-shit tends to be spewed by unintelligent, emotional people who are angry & lashing out over something else, when it's not thrown around just as a accusation to damage reputations & achieve victim-power (like how Harrison got forced out).

My mouth literally dropped open when Rachel said all the horrific things people said about her online. What the actual fuck is wrong with people… Sure, Maria would be a good bachelorette… but I think Rachel deserves it (plus, as an Asian girl myself… I want to see an Asian bachelorette so bad)

What’s a girls girl? Maria. She’s so honest without being mean about it, she was happy for the other women’s successes, she never talked badly about anyone, she didn’t seek to tear anyone else down, and she took the high road and initiated reconciliation with Sydney and Lea. And she’s hilarious. Love her.
And this whole drama started from her talking about Joey probably thought it was hot to date a 31 year old, she was being positive. She was hyping up another girl in the house. It just got twisted into something it wasn’t because she delivery wasn’t sugar coated enough.

I thought Racheal was a beautiful woman inside and out. She is so strong and mature. She has a good head on her shoulders. Love her family too. She's lucky to have such supportive parents.

They also did the rose thing at hometowns - it was shown as Daisy getting hers first, then Kelsey 2nd. But when Kelsey got her rose, Daisy wasn't holding anything. Editors a bit loose this season.

But part of me thinks she might be over exaggerating things to get sympathy bc she probably did get a lot of hate but it was most likely people calling her out on her harsh attitude and clikkie behavior with the mean girls. I feel like we FINALLY saw Rachel’s silly side when Joey sat down. THIS is the type of stuff we want to see from the contestants. Obviously, we love seeing their vulnerable side too, but typically we don’t see their fun, goofy personalities until Paradise. That’s why we must riot if they cancel. I just want to get to know the best sides of these people 🫶🏼

Yes, I would LOVE to see Maria named Bachelorette (for all the reasons I listed above ⬆️ under the pinned comment). Also - as much as I adore Maria, I found myself frustrated when she was interrupting Jess - UNTIL Maria explained her interruptions in a way I could totally relate to. It’s near-impossible to sit quietly while someone else spews lies and misrepresentations about you. It becomes a situation of “yes, I want you to have your say-so without interruption and NO - I won’t allow you to sit there lying about me.”
Good on Maria for speaking up - speaking out - and protecting herself against the trifecta of Mean Girl energy.
The problem lies in the fact that Maria never thinks she's done anything wrong, therefore she can ALWAYS interrupt and defend HER truth. For example, trying to convince the world that "Shut up" and "Zip it" somehow have two different meanings.

Thought I tuned in for The Bachelor, but ended up watching The Maria Show.
Maria has a dynamic personality and is fun on the surface. , but she had a lot of difficulty getting personal and telling Joey how she felt. And also maybe hasnt had a lot of serious relationships, since no one in her family ever met anyone she dated.
Not sure how that would translate to someone dating multiple partners while looking for a “lifelong connections”
I think Lexi has more of the personality to be able to talk and connect with multiple people at the same time, while being open and considerate of the other person.
True but most fans don't want a bachelorette who gets along well or wants a boyfriend, they want a hurricane who makes them feel better about being single.
