It's very good and everyone should eat there at least once but there are MANY other places in SA that are just as good and even better... at a cheaper price. MT is a tourist spot thus the higher prices.

Mi Tierra is a must do for all who come to SA. But it's a tourist trap. There is so much truly great Mexican food in this part of TX & it's not hard to find. Papasito & Soluna immediately come to mind. Or, you can just drive around the west and northwest sides & look for places that look like they've been around for a long time (of which there are a gazillion). Those places are the true hidden gems.

I regularly go to Mexico (because I live nearby) and the food at Mi Tierra is disappointing The salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce, the quesadillas are more like crossiants with cheese, the tamales are awful, the enchiladas are….Only good thing I ate there were the fajita tacos. If you want to try real mexican food, not tex mex in San Antonio Texas. You should try “el DF” or “metro basilica”
The Cortez Family is known in town for their support to the community but this is only what they advertise themselves.
During this pandemic times. They were selling cleaning supplies and food that was about to expire. They advertise themselves as “helping the comunity”. If they want to help, they should donate food to families in need. Many people here in San Antonio know that Cortez Family brings undocumented people from Mexico and they abuse them paying them low wages and they charge them for everything from uniforms, meals and fees. In the past, they used to put mexicans to do maintenance work like paint, construction and plumbing jobs and when work is finish, they called ICE to deport them back to Mexico, that way the Cortez Family don’t have to pay them. I don’t think that they do anything for community
