- Note taking is a skill that must be taught. It isn't a task that we are just born knowing how to do. We need to be supportive and walk our children through the process of learning how to take notes. I am sharing how I have used Gather Round Homeschool and Campfire Curriculums to teach the note taking skill. I am also going to show you how I scaffolded note taking in our School Nest notebooks.
You can find the School Nest notebooks in my Amazon Storefront that is linked below. Please remember that those are not necessary. You can take notes anywhere.

That is too funny. 😂 now to watch the video. 😊
That’s awesome lol.
Haha! I love it! :o)
haha love it! 😊
That makes me love you and your video even more!!! ❤🎉
I absolutely adore the School Nest Notebooks. Before using them I wrap them in clear vinyl (the furniture wrap) to keep them nice and neat. I keep every piece of paper and notebook my kids use so I want these beautiful notebooks to last!
That's a great idea!
Please thank your son for sharing his notebooks with us. He did an amazing job and has encourage my 7th and 8th graders (boys) as well.
I sure will let him know. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you, Ashlea! This was so helpful and i've spent the last couple of days making notes for myself from the Titanic unit we are starting this week. Now turning those notes into notebooking pages for my kids. ❤
I love learning about the Titanic.
It's so true that everyone's notes look different. For me it depends on where and why. My church notes look different than my notes from the homeschool convention. I use different colors, print, drawings etc. 🌻
That is so true!
I appreciate this so much! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing😊. We need to practice more note-taking skills.
I needed this.
Thank You
This is sooo helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I was never taught how to notetake! I wish I was because I felt like I needed to write EVERYTHING down in high school... I got better in college and developed my own ssytem. I am teaching my son how to do it like the Cornell Method.
It certainly is a skill that is needed. I like the Cornell Method.
Ashley, when did you son develop the ability to physically write his own notes ? My son really struggles with writing so we are using a voice to text app. He is 10 years old .
He is extremely smart and can get his ideas out orally but as soon as writing is involved it’s a major struggle 😢
I would say around 13. It took him a while, but he is doing great now.
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife that’s encouraging - it’s been a tough slog these last two years but I think I’m finally adjusting to meet his learning needs . I feel bad it took me so long to .
