I needed to hear this!! High school stresses me out-going into 8th! We don’t have any requirements but want to make sure she’s prepared if she chooses college!
Thanks for the reviews! The Chemistry is probably the best because we are trying to avoid all the super math heavy sciences and considered conceptual type physics or maybe integrated chemistry. I thought about Chemistry in the Kitchen with Guest Hollow too. Thanks so much!
I’d love to know how your 9th grade “block” will be recorded on his transcript. That’s always confused me with unit studies. But I think my children would do really well with it!
With unit studies, we keep up with the time spent on each subject. For 9th grade, we used Gather Round for US History. I would track our time spent on it each day in a spreadsheet on Google Sheets. Gather Round Homeschool and Campfire Curriculums do an awesome job explaining how to use units for high school credits.
So happy to hear that about your mom ❤ what a blessing that she’s going well. The living healthy curriculum sounds great. I’d love to see a flip through.
Thank you for this video! And the encouragement for high school years! Also yes you have done a flip through of healthy living, because I actually just watched it the other day 👍🏼🙂
Thanks so much for sharing! I have a son with dyslexia and ADD and this is very helpful.. I’ve been concerned over the rigor of science for high school. I appreciate seeing alternative options!
I was the opposite in school. 😂 I loved chemistry when I was in school and understood it for the most part. In fact liked it so much that I took it in college again. 😂 My question is, for high school how did you record for the credit for high school? Like are there a certain amount of hours he hast to spend in that subject in order for it to be full credit? I am asking because we are getting close to having to worry about high school. And I am a little concerned about meeting requirements in case my kids want to go to college or trade school or anything else. I guess I am just seeking how do the intricacies of that work for you?
Thanks for encouragement for high school! I know we are far from there, but people always are surprised when I say I’ll homeschool all the years 😂 life skills and entrepreneurship is so important!!

Don’t let it stress you out. Just check out the colleges she is interested in and see what they require for admission.
I love the encouragement for moms not to be afraid of homeschooling high school. That message needs to be heard more.

I have heard wonderful things about Chemistry in the Kitchen.
I’m so thankful that you showed us Learn Math Fast in the past. It’s the only math curriculum that works for my oldest and we tried everything!
That is wonderful!

Love your videos. May I ask where you are finding the free film study units?
I just did a quick google search.
I’m 37 and I’ve never seen Jaws! I’ve also never seen ET🙈
You have to watch them!
I would love a flip through of the health curriculum.

I knew there had to be someone out there that likes Chemistry.
I just kept track of time spent in the subject. I shoot for 130-150 hours for 1 credit.
Ashlea, your video isn’t in the playlist! Just wanted you to know
I completely forgot. Thank you!
