Thank you Erica! I am going to show this tutorial to my kids, who are in 7th and 5th grade. This is extremely helpful.
I do have a tip! When I was in high school/college, I would take notes by hand during a lecture. My notes would be a mess because professors tend to speak quickly. So I would go home and type them out with fancy headings, spaces where I needed them, etc. It actually forced me to go over the information twice and I could clean up my notes a little.

Stephanie Malone I also did this in both high school & college. Made many 'friends' who wanted my notes. I encouraged my students (when I taught history) and my own teen to do the same.

Great tip! I never wanted to take the time to re-write them, but now going back through it with my kids I see the benefit for neat notes!

Thank you for your homeschooling videos - they are helpful! I found your channel about a year ago when I decided to start homeschooling my daughter in 5th grade. Homeschooling was completely foreign to me and it was scary until I found our school and watched your videos to see what it was like to homeschool. My daughter is learning to write and study more independently and your videos are so helpful, thank you! :)

Wow your amazing you are actually showing us exactly what to do step by step. I am a mature student who never really went to school much or study anything. Now that I am trying to study I don't know what to do. People think I am so weird. I have been trying to get help to learn how to study and people think I am crazy. I am crazy for sure but more than usual. From now on if I have any questions I am going to ask you.

Just an observation. For those whose first language is not English, speaking slower will help to understand your content better. More important is a big big thankyou for investing your time to create this information. Thank you

Thank you for this very helpful showing to my daughter to help her be a better note taker. She is going in to eight grade and needed ideas to help her get thru this next year.

Wish I had this information when I home schooled my son many years ago. Great video for any type note taking though. Looks like it makes note taking and studying more fun and takes some of the mundane out of the process.

You can slow the playback speed if you click on the video settings icon or the three dots in the upper right hand corner on your phone. If someone is speaking too slowly, you can also speed it up.

Hi I wonder if you could do videos to show how to take notes from a lecture. Also I wonder if you could show notes in mind map form.
