Is this a full curriculum or more of a supplement type of thing? We’re currently doing TGTB, but we’re looking for something different because sadly they’re just not working for us anymore. My kiddos will be in 4th and 6th grade and I’m curious to know how this curriculum works.

I'll definitely have to come back to these videos when my son gets to high school :P I love how you've adapted the curriculums you have used to fit your son- especially regarding the writing assignments. We tried IEW this year and whereas I loved it , my son absolutely hated it and now refuses to write even a sentence. Actually, any output in the form of writing/drawing/note taking causes tears. I'm curious at about what age was your son finally able to write ? We are finishing Grade 4 and still struggling with a basic sentence :( often he dictates and I just write it down for him. Thanks! We love Campfire Curriculuums- we've done Titanic, Resurrection, Love you to the Moon and Back, and Carolling Noel. Currently doing Pirates. :D

I actually prefer no core connections with our Campfire units. It just takes the stress off of me with trying to do so much.

Maybe you mentioned it, but how many lessons are there in this course?

This curriculum sounds like it would be good anyone wanting to learn more about the US. I've been out of school for many years, so I've forgotten most of what I learned about the states. I may try this one even though I don't have kids that I'm homeschooling.

With $100 at Christian books I would get curriculum for my upcoming 7th grader, and my 2 ASD boys entering 1st and 2nd graders as well as something for my 3yo.

Love your high school content! I will have two high schoolers this year 😵‍💫 One will be using Master Books Chemistry, and one will be doing Master Books History of Science Survey. That Forensic Science looks amazing, though! Maybe next year.

I saw CJs video on this and it looks like such a great curriculum. I hope you all have an amazing year next year and that your son loves this curriculum. My first chemistry class was such a challenge and I struggled through it, went to tutoring every week and everything but now completely love the subject.

We are doing Life Science: The Grand Experiment by MasterBooks in the fall and are super excited about doing MB Forensics in the future too! I can’t wait to hear what you two think about it!!

Campfire Curriculums is my high school science pick for next year. I will also be using the core connections for my 10th grader. My upcoming 12th grader doesn't need any more science credits, but does need a health credit so I will be using Campfire units to cover that. My upcoming 7th grader will just tag along at her own level.

Can’t wait to hear your review on this. My rising 9th grade son wants to do this class in a year or two.

In terms of traditional sciences, would you say this skews towards chemistry, biology, physics, or any of those? I’m considering it as a component of a more traditional course like chemistry or biology. From what I *think* I understand it covers multiple disciplines, but with the labs I was kinda hoping they would skew towards chemistry or biology. Thanks!!

This course does look interesting! I hope your son enjoys it. I'm looking for something for my daughter, going into 11th grade. She should take another lab course. Did you do a recap of your son's chemistry year for this past year from combining the GR & MB courses? Did you do any labs with those? We completed the Apologia Biology, 2nd edition, that you mentioned, in a co-op. We were not fans. Lots of cramming in information for tests. 😕

Thank you for posting this my son is going into 9th and we are switching to unit studies for high school. My husband says this is a waste of money to use a regular notebook. My brain dont work like that I need structure lol. So im having him watch this video with me. Thank you for all you do your sure helping this mama out 💜

I haven't heard of Aceable, but I'm looking into that! My 10th grader has his learner's permit, but he needs this kind of course to get his real driver's license. I didn't want to put him in a class with a stranger riding with him around who knows where. LOL. I'm in GA too.

My son used compass classroom’s filmmaking course and it was interesting and fun. I doubt he’s going into any filmmaking career, but I’ll definitely have to check out the one you mentioned.

I love the practical approach to foreign language. Things that you use everyday. It makes so much sense.

I love your ideas, Ashlea! I'm trying to foster more of a love for writing with my 16 year old son. IEW also has a science-based writing curriculum that we have enjoyed, even though it is intended more for younger students.
