You also make multiple designs per function, then check which combination is the easiest and cheapest to produce. Also in Stormworks more engine allows to run at lower rps so better fuel economy (certainly don't go past 8 on prefab). And gearbox size doesn't matter, just use 1x1x1s.
Haha don't worry, I wont! The little ones are made intentionally to fit on microbuilds! I have a big lineup of other helicopters that are much more normal looking, and they are on my bigger creations!
Hey 454ss, I have a question, and I was hoping for your input. The engine I built for my ship in stormworks is having an issue. With no clutch and a 1:1 gear ratio, I make 14 rps and about 10-11 knots, whereas if I add a clutch, the more I throttle up with it, the more rps I lose, but the more speed I gain. Oh, and all changing the gearbox ratio does is cause my rps to drop even more. Is that supposed to happen, because I'm confused. Great video as always, and thanks for any help!
Thank you for the comment :) Could be a problem with your clutch, or your engine is too underpowered or you are losing power somewhere. Try to add throttle without releasing the clutch, you should have way more than 20rps (redlining), and then slowly release the clutch and see what is your bottleneck
I tried a higher gearbox ratio without the clutch, and I just go straight to really low RPS, instead of starting with 20 rps at max throttle, and losing it as the clutch is disengaged, so I'm starting to wonder if the engines (3 large deisel) are too small for my ship, which is at the max length with a default workbench, and somehow 81000 mass. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

Dont take this as an insult in any way, but your helis always look really goofy and funny/cute cause of the short blades 😅

Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!

thank you so much man
Less complexity less chance of a failure
With the list is a little "How to change game to work .."
So your a civil engineer? Correct me if i'm wrong I'm still learning
