I've been playing stormworks for a few months and everything was working perfectly, I was building quite big ships and I wasn't using physics flooder (because I didn't know about it), but a few days ago something went wrong and as soon as I spawn even the smallest boat I can hardly move.
sometimes when the game updates it resets the graphics to their default of ultra and they need to be turned back down. also check that there is nothing running in the background, windows (and probably apple too) has a lot of bloatware that needs to be turned off in task manager every now and then.
Just gonna say, at around 15:00 you say that the displays will stay on if there is an NPC in the room, you can configure the player sensor via the properties menu to only detect players. Dunno if you knew this already or not, but gonna leave this comment for the algorithm as well Edit: Whoops. This is what you get for leaving comments before you watch the whole video ;)
:D I distinctly remember thinking about it while I was building it, but was like nah, there shouldn't be NPCs in the bridge haha But yup, I may do that configuration on a new update! Thank you for the comment!

What is the reason behind always using normal engines and not modular engines? I like modular engines much more because of flexibility, and more control. Sometimes I hear people complain about overheating and higher fuel consumption, but somehow I never had those issues (maybe because I like to keep my engines as small as possible).
Great question! I tend to use the large prebuilt engine for my bigger vessels, just because I find that they will maximize optimization and reduce lag (the game does not have to load lots of little parts), whereas for cars and small boats I almost always use modular engines, for the size reduction :)

There is no fps drop in my game, my graphics card is 4090, but still, when I spawn a big ship, the game slows down as if I am playing on Windows XP at 8K.
My first ever creation almost crashed the game, it was a box with glass on one side and a fluid spawner that somehow tryed to full the entire world. It was more laggy then filling up the entire working area with paintblocks photos.
i still remember like a month or so ago you first popped up in the algorithm and you had 400 subs, now your already at almost 1.2K keep it up!!!
Lol im next to hit 1k subs. Starting from the bottom and working up. I love his oil rig tutorials.

Thanks! One physics flooder in the fuel tank of a large ship and now its running great
I was just about to ask, glad it still allows fluids into the area still!

@@454ss_gaming You're welcome!
but what are the npcs going to look at if you turn them off?
0:23 shots fired😂
I have written before but can you build a research and repair submarine using a hull in the ww2 or not at all, I am very bad at building
:) I will add it to my list
you can stack catalytic converters to get rid of any amount of smoke. 3 or 4 behind each other will handle almost any amount of smoke.
True! But it will also reduce the flow of the exhaust and the engine power will decrease :D
@@454ss_gaming parallel stacks, as much as is needed to get the required flow rate.
Or you can set your particles setting to reduced.

modular engines are more fuel effiecent tho, and with good cooling they dont overheat, but people sometimes prefer normal engines

Sounds like your computer specs can't handle the game? Try turning the graphics down

Yeah that's just storm works thing, you either build big ships without weapons, and without many compartments, or you build small ships.
Ohh you get that weird shakyness when you have big creation loaded. But thats probably a HEAVY logical ship. OMG... 6 Diesel engines XD
yeah my frigate could really use some TLC great video
