Why don’t push too far? I think push too short is a problem more than too far, is it correct?

Thanks for your feedback. From the the thousands of people we have worked with correcting their stroke, we see people pushing too far back more often than too short. People think they are getting more out of their stroke by pushing as far back as possible - where actually they are causing a massive delay in getting their arm back over to take another stroke. During this delay the body sinks and they lose momentum going forward. Once you lose momentum it is a lot harder to do your next underwater pull as you have to put more power into it to get back up to momentum again. This does not mean to fall short either, it is a balance and there is definitely a sweet spot. I hope this helps! Good luck with your swimming.

This is my go-to video before I’m off to the pool. Great key points. The pretty woman with the wide catch gives me hope of getting a decent stroke 😅

Last advice is not very good, i used to push wider and i got my shoulder hurt since pushing wider doesnt make much use of the lats and the other torso muscles.

Pushing too far even in the demonstration . push too far back and you will be pushing up on water and forcing your hips down, that creates drag and you slow down
