This is such a great cover of an incredible song. Two questions: Might I ask why you prefer a fixed scale as opposed to a multiscale 8 string? And would you recommend an 8 string for playing Sleep Token, or like a 30 inch baritone? Thanks! Also maybe consider a cover of Higher? 👀
Hey man, thanks for the comment, appreciate your kind words i'm glad you enjoyed! In answer to your questions, the only reason i have a fixed scale is because simply all the fanned multiscale ones were out of my budget haha, i would've definitely got one though if i had the chance. To be honest i haven't really learned any Sleep Token songs were all the strings are needed (as in i only really use the top 4 strings) so a baritone would be fine. A Baritone would also probably be better dude to the band using extremely low tunings such as this song and Granite (both in Double Drop B), so that 30 inch scale length would very much aid your tuning stability. Hope this makes sense and helps!
Live IV uses mainly his 30" 6 string which is tuned to E Standard. He uses a pitchshifter to go lower or even higher. For Vore, it's -5 semi tones for the scream parts and -2 semi tones for the rest of the song.
